Straight to the point: it’s the perfect fresh scent. Clear notes, sharp mint like freshly cut, with an almond base giving a white undertone and vetiver adding the necessary seriousness. The result is airy and natural. It lasts a minimum of 8-10 hours without reapplication, and clothes smell for days afterwards. The trail is correct, sometimes intense, so I use it moderately. Ideal for work, study, or dining; it even works for formal occasions, but not for parties or sport. I enjoy it most in the heat and outdoors. It’s a pity it’s discontinued; it’s one of the best I’ve owned and will ever own. If you find it, don’t hesitate.

What a surprise! I always end up in reviews for this perfume. Although I’m not scared off by discontinued scents due to the difficulty of finding them, this bottle left me impressed. The aroma isn’t extravagant, but in its simplicity it’s a jewel. The initial mint and almond play in another league; it reminded me of Aoud Lemont Mint, but this one is more wearable. Without a doubt, it’s the best fresh-clean fragrance I’ve tried. If you can try it, don’t miss the opportunity.

Guerlain demonstrates once again why it is more niche than designer. The mint smells very natural, like a freshly cut leaf, far from the gum-like quality of other perfumes. I was surprised by the longevity of that note, around 45 minutes, then neroli and vetiver rise with the DNA of the saga and the almond present all the time. An incredible perfume with outstanding quality. The longevity is average for the L’Homme Ideal family, about 6 hours, with moderate trail and projection.

A wonder in my top 5 that drives me mad. It’s mint over mint, nothing more, mixed with a pinch of very subtle anise, barely noticeable, just to intensify the mint even further.

My favourite fragrance for Christmas; it reminds me of the smell of the season and sweets. Mint predominates with the almonds. Performance and trail are quite good, and compliments fall by the bucketload. Luck smiled on me when I bought four bottles on discount at an airport; they were the last ones. It’s a pity production has stopped. Recommended.

Another discontinued perfume by Guerlain, complicated to find nowadays. Mint reigns; I don’t notice ambroxan, it doesn’t have a huge trail like the others in the saga, but it has good longevity. It came to replace Cologne, but hasn’t achieved the success of the previous one from my point of view. I wouldn’t recommend it at the current price; it’s not worth it; there are similar ones where mint reigns. It was a good perfume, not the best in the saga, but I liked it. I’ve reserved 75% of a bottle I have because it’s been impossible to find another. It’s for summer, for the heat and the day; not for night, unless it’s very hot. It doesn’t attract attention unless you press it against the skin.

L’Homme Ideal Cool is, so far, the freshest flanker of all. Composed of 10 notes, mint, almonds, aquatic notes, and vetiver stand out. Longevity is good, surpassing 7 hours, and the trail is intense, so be careful with over-application. I love the mix of mint and almonds; it makes it unique. I also like the bottle, with streamlined and simple lines in grey-blue; the cap is my favourite part, it’s heavy, and although you might grab it by there, the bottle will never fall.

It has 20% of the original. A spectacular, exquisite, rich, and vibrant aroma, very special. It has that half-dusted almond part, but it’s a daily use, casual, fun, and energetic scent. It’s force of movement, for a man who is moving, not for an ultra-elegant suit and tie wearer 😂. A 10 out of 10. Very good. It’s a pity it was discontinued.

I see it as a modest launch that doesn’t reach the status of the Guerlain legacy. The positive is that it’s easy to wear and refreshing ideal for summer even on the hottest days as it doesn’t saturate. And it doesn’t saturate because its performance is very low; it lasts little and projects less. Its scent has the L’homme Ideal DNA quite present accompanied by a mint I expected to be more prominent based on what I’d heard but which turns out to be quite light. As artistic fragrances I find the heavier-character flankers of the L’homme Ideal line much more enriching. As a refreshing option for summer I find much better alternatives especially considering the prices and the fact that to wear this you have to pull the trigger with joy.

I consider it a minor launch, not up to the legacy of Guerlain. The good thing is that it’s easy to wear and refreshing, ideal for summer even on very hot days, as it doesn’t saturate. It doesn’t saturate because its performance is poor: it lasts little and projects less. The scent has the DNA of L’Homme Ideal quite present, accompanied by a lighter mint than expected. As artistic perfumes, I find the heavier-character flankers of the line more enriching. As a refreshing summer fragrance, I find better options, especially with the prices and knowing that to wear this one you have to pull the trigger with joy.

It’s as good as it is fleeting. A delicious perfume, a charming and different fresh scent. That combination of almond, anise, and mint is perfect. We can’t expect anything less from Guerlain: good construction and quality. The only drawback is the longevity, 3 hours on my skin, fading from the first hour. Zero trail; nobody has ever told me they’ve smelled this perfume. A shame; always the best aromas have the worst performance.

Absolutely sensational fragrance

To be honest it didn’t hook me. It’s hyped so much that I had to try it and it sounded very sweet and synthetic almost like a Homem Potence without the menthol. That artificial cherry sweetness is what didn’t convince me; I like sweet perfumes without rejection. Some might like it but for me it’s like when certain smells give you a headache. Please don’t say it reminds you of another Guerlain; it’s obvious it’s from the same line. The point of ‘it reminds me of’ should be another perfume not one from the same brand or discontinued alternatives. At first it went well but now everyone chooses the predecessors and I don’t see the point. Scent: 5/10 Longevity: 5/10 Projection: 9/10 Trail: 6/10 Value for money: 4/10 Blind buy: 2/10 Season: temperate and cold climates.

To be honest, it didn’t grab me. With all the hype, I felt compelled to try it, but it turned out very sweet and synthetic, almost like a Homme Potence without the mint note. That artificial cherry sweetness is what didn’t convince me; I prefer sweet fragrances that don’t feel off-putting. Mind you, this is my opinion, just as some people might get headaches from certain scents. Please, don’t say it smells like another Guerlain; it’s obvious it’s from the same family. The beauty of ‘reminds me of’ is for different fragrances, not for repurchasing from the same brand or seeking alternatives to discontinued ones. It started off well, but now everyone is choosing the predecessors. I don’t see the point. Scent: 5/10 Longevity: 5/10 Projection: 9/10 Sillage: 6/10 Value for money: 4/10 Blind buy: 2/10 Season: temperate and cool climates.

It’s a deceptive fragrance but very rich. Upon spraying, light citrus with an almond note wraps around mint, projecting cleanliness and elegance; it’s fresh and although intended for daily wear, it has class, ideal for white attire or semi-formal occasions. After two hours, the blend of almonds, citrus, and mint gives way to a green sensation that melts into a modern, soapy fougère with great class. I see it as excellent for all climates except extreme cold or heat since it doesn’t stand out too much. It projects moderately for the first two hours before becoming a second skin lasting 7 to 8 hours. I only compare it to its older sibling, L’Homme Ideal Sport: same performance but this one projects more on me. It’s not bad, I like it, but I’d place it at the end of my L’Homme Ideal collection. If you find it at a good price, buy it; it’s not complicated to wear and smells rich. 8.5/10
lovesenses
As a mint lover, I knew I’d like it, but upon trying it, it was love at first sniff and I bought it instantly. Mint and almond dominate, combining excellently to give a fresh and sparkling touch; citrus sits in the background while I notice more neroli and anise in the second layer. It’s a true summer wonder, pleasant even in extreme heat and humidity at +40°C. The only drawback is the performance: it stops projecting after 3 hours and stays close to the skin with a duration shorter than the rest of the L’Homme Ideal line. Edit: having used it again this year at 27°C, the performance is much better than last July-August. With the current temperature, it lasts a solid 8 hours projecting twice as long (and even close to the skin without projecting, it’s still perceptible at 11 hours).
Lovren
I love openings with anise, almond, and subtle mint, but after the second hour it becomes more green and aquatic, losing that special touch. It smells elegant, but it’s very light; if it lasted longer and projected better, it would be a hit, but given the price and duration, it falls short.

Listen, if you don’t know yet: the new L’homme de Guerlain presentations no longer have the coloured edges on the bottle; now everything is transparent with only the cap retaining the original colour. They aren’t fakes, nor have they sold you a cat for a dog; it’s simply the new design, period.
Jaime Echeverry
Stop arguing about the bottle edges and let’s talk about how it smells, because that’s what matters.
Tmac0415
Like others, I bought this and it came completely transparent with a black cap; I suppose that’s how they come now.

Diazpcd12, strange about the bottle without grey edges. I used two and both had grey sides, even I have a spare one that’s identical. It sounds bad that they’re changing that, although I see some new ones from the Extreme or Intense lines might not have it, but this line has always been characterised by having the cap-coloured edge.
Diazpcd12
Good morning, fellow fragrance enthusiasts. I’ve just picked up the version without the grey borders and I’m absolutely blown away: is this a new flanker or a factory error?
arturowonka
Almond and mint scent, very subtle and unique. I’ve received a thousand compliments, though I still don’t consider it my signature fragrance.
Nelmon
Of the whole saga this is the one that won me over from the first sniff. I love that mint accord and the creamy almond touch typical of Guerlain. I recommend it 100%.
Olisqueando
I tried it today and it smells great and is easy to wear. The opening is a bit unusual for me, but quickly something fresh and pleasant emerges, with lots of mint and a hint of anise. It reminds me a bit of Chanel Homme Sport Extreme at first, but it’s less sweet, more aquatic and fresh, with that barber-shop touch that I love. When it dries down, it recalls scents like Dylan Blue. It doesn’t last long on my skin, but for the first hour it projects well and leaves a good trail; by two hours it’s very soft. I wouldn’t buy it for longevity, but I’ve loved it so much for the aroma.

Of the whole saga, this is the one that has truly won me over. I loved it from the very first sniff. That mint accord fascinates me and the typical creamy almond touch from Guerlain is perfect. I recommend it 100%.

What a fantastic flanker, what a stroke of genius. It’s fresh thanks to the mint but with the warmth and sweetness of almond. It smells clean, semi-formal and pleasant, with a very present neroli that interacts with that fresh and almond blend. It reminds me of new scents from my childhood; some friends said it smells like opening a new box of shoes. It’s a distinct, seductive aroma, ideal for semi-formal or informal occasions, super versatile for everyday wear but also leaves a good trail at night. Perfect for ages 25 and up. It’s soft and skin-scented yet well-differentiated. If you’re looking for something soft, fresh, slightly sweet and different, you can’t miss this.

What a beautiful flanker a real stroke of genius. Fresh from the mint yet with the warmth and sweetness of almond. It smells clean semi-formal and pleasant with a very present neroli that interacts with that fresh almond-y blend. It reminds me of new scents from my childhood; some friends say it smells like a new shoebox. It’s seductive distinct and super versatile: works by day and leaves a good trail at night. Ideal for over 25s. Soft but well-differentiated. If you’re looking for something fresh slightly sweet and different don’t miss it.

Aquatic notes, mint, a sweet and citrusy base… does it sound like Allure Homme Eau Extreme? Don’t misunderstand me, they aren’t the same, they just coincide on mint and water. One uses tonka for sweetness, the other almond; one has orange, the other bergamot. This L’Homme Cool is fresher and less sweet, but they belong to the same family: fresh, relaxing, slightly sweet and citrusy perfumes. It’s a delight. I think it shines more in spring due to the mint, but it goes brilliantly with summer too. I love it. If you have the blue or the cologne, this isn’t a bad addition because it’s different from both, although it’s not a total revolution… anyway, I love it.
