  So far, the By Kilian that has hit me the hardest. Amber Oud is resinous, woody, sweet and warm, with a green note at the start that makes it unique and interesting. From the very first moment it smells of amber and benzoin with a vaporous halo of vanilla, absolutely stunning, although at first they are muffled by that fresh, green sensation. I didn’t know what malagueta was, but I’m sure it’s what gives that freshness. This doesn’t last more than five minutes, and then precious nuances of amber and benzoin emerge in all their glory, wrapped in an almost powdery vanilla that exudes brutal elegance. It’s not a modern gourmand vanilla; rather, it’s a semi-powdery, sober and refined vanilla. Gradually, it loses that powdery feel and background woody halos appear, gaining clarity as the scent fades. The dry down is a very tamed oud, nothing wild, maximally westernised, resinous, spicy, warm and velvety, with subtle but noticeable benzoin and amber of exceptional quality. The longevity was about eight hours, more or less, and its trail is moderate from the start, a little more intense initially, but nothing exaggerated. It’s a warm, resinous perfume for cold or mild climates and preferably for night, but it’s also perfect for a cold winter morning. I absolutely loved the perfume, but its price is a brick that overshadows everything; it’s excessive and prohibitive, quite frankly, an armed robbery. If you’re interested, better go for the refill, which is much more economical, but if you can afford it, go ahead, it’s gorgeous. Better not let anyone else try it, because if you like it, you’re doomed, hehe.
