I absolutely love this perfume; it’s another masterpiece for my nose. It feels like a rich oud and frankincense surrounded by the other notes, creating an aroma I adore. It’s fine, distinguished, and perfect for special occasions. It has moderate longevity and sillage, isn’t too strong, and is well-balanced. I recommend it wholeheartedly; give it a try.
A lovely Kilian fragrance that opens luminously with geranium and spices, fresh, bright, and brief (the best part of Incense Oud). Then comes a smoky accord of frankincense and rose, pretty and relaxing, over a base that in the heart becomes balsamic, woody, and liquorice-like. Here, the sandalwood shines, while the oud stays shy and hidden. The dry-down is very oriental, clinging to the skin, maintaining that liquorice and balsamic facet with a sweet, smoky touch. Longevity and sillage are moderate, with the typical Kilian quality. While it’s good, it didn’t offer much to me. I would call it ‘Incense Santal’ instead of ‘Incense Oud’, which fits better, but I suppose it’s just a trend. Rating: 6.
This is my second attempt with this house; the first one failed, but this is better, albeit not spectacular. It would smell better as ‘Incense Rose’ to avoid any deception, since the oud is so ethereal it’s barely noticeable, more vaporous than anything. The opening is lovely: a sigh of balsamic spices that leaves you craving more. Then a smoky rose explodes over a warm, woody backdrop. The blend of rose and frankincense lasts throughout, with dynamic nuances. For me, it’s a step forward compared to other Rose Ouds, bringing originality to a note that can often be monotonous. It’s pretty and elegant; I liked it, but it didn’t quite convince me. It lasts about 7 to 8 hours with moderate sillage, ideal for cold nights. It has quality, but aromatically it’s not extraordinary.
Incense Oud is a quality fragrance where frankincense takes the lead, accompanied by cardamom and rose, with the oud hidden in the depths. It feels refined, polished, and elegant, though it lacks that opulent and striking touch that would have been ideal. It’s not aggressive, but certainly bold. It’s one of the best incense options without sweetness, but its short longevity and that skin-like dry-down leave me wanting more, as if the promise of delight goes unfulfilled. Still, I commend it for its unique contemplative quality.
