In my collection, this Lattafa stands out among green leather scents. It’s linear, herbal, and the whole aroma hits at once, not note by note. Not for everyone, only for those who wear several perfumes or like leather without it being a difficult challenge. It’s mature, serious, yet with its own charm. Suitable for day and night, for men (though some women might dare, though it doesn’t suit them delicately). It has a rough, wild vibe, leather competing with the green. Lasts 9 hours on skin, moderate projection but noticeable with several sprays. Low price for Lattafa, offers great value (I wouldn’t spend on the original by Memo). The box and materials are good, but the cap is poor quality. The bottle is solid and simple.
If you don’t like strong leather but want to try, this is ideal: the leather is noticeable but soft and pleasant. It’s economical and lasts well, around 7 or 8 hours.
Super green, sharp, and sour Arabic fragrance, like chewing wet nettle in turpentine. The cheap leather lasts barely 20 minutes, but the nettle scent lingers far too long. The only good thing is the price. Only for sadomasochistic leather fans with a Greenpeace card. The best lesson: never buy blind, not from reviews, YouTubers, or low-cost Arabic perfume samples. P.S.: It has what Irish Leather by Memo has to Falete has to La Pantoja. People smoke thyme with these comparisons.
Looking for an Ambergris Shouers clone, I found something akin to Nina’s Bloody. Notes of ash, galbanum, and night-blooming cereus.
I can’t identify the leather; a letdown if you were hoping for classics like Aramis or Ombre Leather. Smelling it on paper is a mistake; it assaults the nose and seems like a chemical disaster. But on skin, it changes everything: it becomes floral and musky, elegant and delicate, perhaps too feminine. Do not buy blind. If you test, do it on skin, under the shirt.
Bought blind expecting something like Ana Abiyedh, but no. Smells like petrol or fuel; I can’t detect the leather and it didn’t convince me. Another mistake buying without testing, just like with Derby Club House Blanche. What a disappointment.
Quick in-store test: the nettle scent is real and brutal, more tomato than freshly uprooted plant. It lasted hours on blotter; by the next day, the black leather note emerged, like a luxury armchair in a rich, stubborn bloke’s lounge. It doesn’t smell cheap (and it is), but it’s a shock. Perhaps it improves on skin over time. If I had an extra $12, I’d buy it just to see if it changes. Never buy blind.
