  • Artisan Blu is fresh, citrusy, floral and woody, very reminiscent of classic colognes like Acqua di Parma. Ideal for relaxing days, leisurely walks, the office or daytime parties, weddings and christenings. It opens with a super citrus and fresh note for about 15-20 minutes, then moves to a pleasant, dry floral phase on wood but remains cheerful. For a fresh scent, it lasts over 10 hours, although the projection is medium-low. The price isn’t cheap, but the fragrance is definitely worth it.

Artisan Blue is fresh, citrusy, floral and woody, very much in the style of traditional colognes like some of Acqua di Parma. It is ideal for daytime use, when you want to relax or go for a walk without rushing, although it also works well for the office, daytime parties, weddings or christenings. The opening is very citrusy and fresh, lasting about 15-20 minutes, then moves to a pleasant floral phase, and the dry down is slightly woody but still feels cheerful. For being fresh, it has good longevity (more than 10 hours), although the projection is medium-low. The price is not cheap, but the scent is good.

Out of all the fragrances from this house, this is the one that has won my heart (and I must admit, the others were good too). I think this is a turning point in my personal taste regarding this brand (which had become so difficult for me… and finally, it has captured me). It is complex, versatile, suitable for a wide age range (20+), elegant yet casual, delicious and clean. It is not a unique scent (it brings me several déjà vu moments with current perfumes), but that does not diminish its… punch! its magical hit!

Out of all the fragrances from this house, this is the one that has won my heart the most (and look how much I loved the others). I think this is a turning point in my relationship with the brand (which had become difficult for me, but it has finally captured me). It is complex, versatile, suitable for all ages (+20), elegant and casual at the same time, delicious and clean. It is not a unique scent (it brings back several memories of other current fragrances), but that does not take away its ‘punch’, its magical hit.

One of the marine fragrances I have liked the most, an excellent option for this summer.

  • John Varvatos Artisan Blue: In the 17th century, glass was already precious for storing liquids and oils. During the colonial occupation, ships transported goods in large bottles wrapped in woven cloth to protect them. John Varvatos has reclaimed that historical inspiration to create the bottles for Artisan Aqua and Artisan Blu. The JV creatives deserve a medal for that design. Artisan Blu shares the base of its sister, Aqua, but is less complex. It opens with a sensation of hyper-clean aquatic-herbal freshness, with a beautiful ozonic edge, perhaps due to a solid basil base that becomes aquatic and slightly citrusy. It feels like the ‘just showered’ effect: a tub bath with lavender and basil, a touch of orange peel and mentholated exfoliating salts. Then it strengthens with geranium and pine tips, closing with style and class, personality and character. It has many virtues, but its modern yet classic vibe is the best; it goes against the grain in the aquatic segment and is worth owning.

With this outstanding fragrance, perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux won the Fragrance Foundation Award (formerly FIFI, the perfume Oscar) in 2017. Well done and try more of his innovative creations. Thanks for the review, MarcusRS.

  • A fresh and light proposal from the Sejano77 collection (thank you, friend). It hasn’t impressed me as much as others from this house; it feels like something I’ve smelled before, so it’s neither novel nor unique. It’s very aquatic, conveying notable cleanliness and freshness. It suits all ages; I’d say it’s decent but not exceptional, with a potency that drops quickly. The bottle, however, is a work of art.

I bought this blind, following instinct and other reviews, plus I liked the bottle design (if I didn’t, at least it looks nice in the cupboard). I took advantage of a great offer and… I absolutely loved it! It’s an unusual fragrance, somewhere between elegant and sporty. Although I don’t fully understand notes, I can’t stop recommending it. I’d give it 9 out of 10. For me, it’s perfect for moderate temperatures or heat, and on very hot nights it’s a 100%.

  • The perfumery has made a mistake by awarding this. The opening is citrusy and fresh, well-executed, with a pleasant but not overly defined green note. After 5–10 minutes, it fades into a generic, almost imperceptible scent, fresh but with a heavy white musk; it sounds like supermarket body gel. The longevity is terrible and the scent very generic, save for that lovely opening. Ideally suited for Jeremy Fragrance.

  • I don’t know, but I feel the neroli scent which isn’t mentioned in its ingredients, unless some mixed ingredients make you feel the neroli scent. IMO

Very good cologne scent. It has its nineties touches which I love. Pity it’s poor in fixation and sillage. I won’t repeat.

  • I’m not much of a fan of citrus scents, as many are flat and simple, but this fragrance surprised me from the first spray. Fresh and citrusy yet different and more complex, with floral notes. A pine note is perceptible, a notable herbal touch, and although it doesn’t seem so when heard, it really works well. It’s an elegant fragrance, for a neat man; it can be worn informally but also dressed up, preferably during the day and in warm climates. Very happy with this fragrance for its scent; I bought it as soon as I smelled it. It allows you to smell fresh and clean, but different. The bottle is misleading; if I had to say what colour it evokes, it would be more green than blue. The pity is the longevity; it doesn’t last much, 4-5 hours. If it lasted longer, this would be a total success.

  • Wore it last night straight after receiving it to test, and today I bought it because it’s compared to Colonia Club and won an award like Burberry Brit. At first, it seemed familiar, then it reminded me of Nautica Voyage, later Acqua di Gio, which I smelled as a child in the 90s. It gives the sensation of walking in the morning on a beach, perhaps Mediterranean, but definitely Cancún, very clean. So far, it hasn’t given me that Colonia Club vibe I was looking for, but it’s not bad. How curious, speaking of Gio, I was torn between this and Gio. My best friend is getting married in July and wanted a good cologne. After reading about the reformulations of Gio and this one winning the award, I decided. It reminds me of Acqua di Gio. What I do believe is that I’ll return to my classics. Speaking with her boyfriend, who likes colognes, he made me understand that one needs to know how to buy, know your tastes, what suits you, etc. I’m not an expert nor do I have 50 or 100 like many here, but I think I know what I like. Except for 1 or 3 that I might buy blindly (based on my tastes and comparisons). I think I’ll be more square, as they say in colognes. Thanks. Added: this third wear gives a very good mentholated vibe, but unlike Verde from Colonia Club, it’s more like a sea breeze with some pine. I think it’s that mentholated opening they mention, and I feel it with the pine which is the last thing. Very good cologne; the pine doesn’t feel outdated like from the 70s or 80s. Hope we can take off our face masks to wear it.

  • Had higher expectations. Opens very citrusy, similar to Acqua di Gio. But after five minutes, the citrus fades and it starts smelling like generic bar soap. It has a pleasant scent, low sillage and medium longevity. It doesn’t stand out compared to other perfumes in the Blue line.

  • First thing first: it projects for about an hour and a half and then stays close to the skin. The citrus and soapy aroma (like laundry softener). After 30 minutes, the citrus fades into the base and awakens the floral notes. The good thing is the price, which can still be found online, so there is no need to worry about reapplying. However, Varvatos has other better options like Artisan, which are in the same line.

Smells rich; I use it for running and will then use it for school. My sister gave me a compliment about it 👍🏻

  • Lammbo21

It smells delicious; I wear it for running and then plan to use it for school. My sister has given it a big thumbs up 👍🏻.

  • A sparkling and fresh fragrance, in the style of Acqua di Parma. At first, it’s citrusy, energising and revitalising, with a vintage touch from the pine. I wore it and thought: where have I smelled this before other than Acqua di Parma? Yes, it also reminds me of Viking Cologne by Creed. It’s a fresh ideal choice for summer, with elegance and modernity, without losing that vintage base. I find it perfect for people over 25.

  • Smells fantastic, starting with a citrusy note before transitioning to a soapy scent, like just out of the shower. It feels clean and smells great, though I can’t distinguish any other notes beyond that. The opening is citrusy, then it becomes soapy. The fragrance is good and recommended, plus it isn’t very expensive. It was my first John Varvatos scent and a good choice.
