Descripción
Burberry Brit for Men by Burberry is a woody oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2004, the nose behind this composition is Antoine Maisondieu. The top notes unfold with ginger, cardamom, bergamot and green mandarin; the heart reveals wild rose, nutmeg, cedar and spicy notes; while the base settles on tonka bean, grey musk, cedar, oriental woody notes and patchouli. This perfume has been awarded two prizes: FiFi Award Best National Advertising Campaign / Print 2005 and FiFi Award Fragrance Of The Year Men's Luxe 2005.

Roses surrounded by citrus trees and dusted with talcum powder. A very elegant fragrance, suitable for both formal and casual occasions, right between formal and informal. Very good.
Excellent unisex fragrance and quite original; I had never smelled anything like it. I suppose the rose gives it that special touch; I see it as suitable for almost the whole year. Along with London for Men, these are two real gems. The trail and longevity are moderate, leaning towards weak; in my case, it requires reapplication. Overall rating 8/10.
Excellent! Buenos Aires 2016 Autumn is perfect. Spicy, lots of rose, long-lasting and beautiful.
Do not waste your money on Burberry Brit for Men; the scent is undetectable by you or your partner. From the moment you apply it, the essence vanishes within five minutes. The longevity is terrible. I over-applied it and still couldn’t detect it. Rating 0 out of 10; I had to give it away, and the recipient had to pass it on for the same reason.
It’s sweet without being cloying. Pleasant, yet has a note that makes it slightly unusual and feminine. There’s something about it that reminds me of Christmas, like caramel. Quite interesting.
A sweet fragrance ideal for autumn or winter.
It delivers on the notes: woody floral, smelling of woods and flowers. I must say the scent itself didn’t take to me, but the sheer number of compliments and people approaching to ask what I was wearing was impressive. I still don’t love it, but when I need presence and distinction, I use it without a second thought.
I prefer this cologne to the later Rhythm, which replaced it by trying to modernise it until it became a typical scent. The original Brit is a love, very distinct from the market. Launched in 2005, on my skin it smells of strawberry at first, then something jammy and everyday. It evokes England and the modern spirit of the 60s and 70s; I feel like a Beatle. It’s an essential in my collection: I like it more in summer but it suits any occasion. It’s not overwhelming, though it is hard to find (and that’s why it’s special). People always ask what I’m wearing; my girlfriend loves when I put it on, even if it’s not her favourite. I receive many compliments. It’s not everywhere, it’s tricky to source, but I bought it when it was discontinued and it came with a lovely travel bag with the classic Burberry check lining for a great price. Give it a try, it won’t leave you indifferent.
Burberry Brit is one of my favourites from the house, alongside The Beat. I perceive it as a spiced oriental, not woody. It opens with sweet citrus (mandarin and bergamot) giving way to an excellent wild rose. Over time, the rose turns spicy with ginger and nutmeg, accented by cardamom; I barely notice the woody notes. It’s semi-formal, perfect with a shirt and jeans. The trail is moderate to high at first, then softens but remains noticeable. It lasts about 7 to 8 hours.
Smells like its cousins Brit Rhythm and Intense, yet it feels more formal, dry, and serious; the scent is exquisite, though I prefer something less rigid, perhaps along the lines of Armani or Cartier, for all-day wear.
I ordered it online because I tried it in-store and liked it on my skin, but upon arrival and testing it more, it definitely smells like baby cologne. My wife and I are expecting twins and we wondered if there are designer baby lotions. Although Burberry Brit wasn’t created for that, but rather to give a man a clean scent, the final result is childish. For me to wear it, I don’t think so, but for my children it’s perfect. Scent 9 (Childish), 5 (Adult), Longevity 8, Projection 7, Price 9 (Very accessible).
One of the most disappointing perfumes I’ve tried. It stands out for nothing. The dry-down leaves a smell of rancid elegance on the skin, like an older gentleman, from another era. It’s not for young people and it has nothing particular about it.
I wouldn’t even use it as a gift. I had Burberry Brit for Men and the scent is non-existent; neither the sillage nor the projection are anything. I had to gift it to a friend, he didn’t want it and passed it to his brother-in-law, who also didn’t want it. It was sold as a gift… That’s a waste of time. I’m doing this so people don’t buy blindly: try it first and wait a day to see if you like it. I give it 0 out of 10.
Editing my previous review: in the end, I loved Burberry Brit. It’s summer, 39°C, after a shower, what a refreshing lotion. It has ginger and citrus top notes, with a barely spicy base that evokes freshness and tranquility. The same ginger note as in Bvlgari BLV, but this one is more formal and versatile. The performance is good, better than Rhythm. I think you need to be over 30 to appreciate it. In the previous one I said I heard a child; it’s due to the dry-down which reminds of talcum powder, but overall it’s a clean and mature sensation. Scent 8, Longevity 8, Sillage 8, Price 10.
I still remember this great fragrance with nostalgia; I had it in 2008. Woody and spicy notes, the longevity wasn’t bad at all, about 5 hours and it was noticeable. Whenever I wore it, I received compliments. I didn’t buy it again because I couldn’t find it in my city; I don’t know if they still manufacture it, but if you come across it, BUY IT!
I’ve never smelled a rose scent; I thought it would be like Rhythm, but it’s a different perfume. In my opinion, it’s hard to wear in the heat; I simply didn’t like it. Of Burberry, I only know BRIGHT, which is fresh and similar to PR Aqua di Gio, and the original and Intense Rhythm; they are good options with pineapple and sweet notes, not for heat but easy to wear with moderation, without being intrusive.
If you have the chance, try it; it’s distinct and very British, something for autumn so you don’t smell the same as everyone else. It’s almost my signature scent; I’ve received many compliments.
It’s a slightly sweet and soft scent, smelling a bit like baby cologne. It’s warm, pleasant, and elegant, adding a sensitive touch to one’s personality. As it dries down, it becomes floral and musky, and that combination of ginger, tonka bean, and cardamom is exceptional; the rose integrates perfectly. It doesn’t smell like a retro perfume; it’s very English and conservative.
This was the first one my dad bought me when I was getting older, which is why it’s so special to me. It sounds a bit like baby cologne, but the other notes give it an attractive and elegant touch. When I get married, I’ll use this or another Burberry if it’s not autumn or winter. Very good fragrances: London, Touch, Man. The one I liked least for being ‘spicy’ is Beat. Hopefully they don’t discontinue it. Note: for next summer I’ll try Carven Leau Intense; they compare it to this one and it was created by a perfumer who worked at Burberry.
I tried it and it simply didn’t convince me. The rose note is very muted and the longevity is poor; the sillage didn’t even do any magic. I ended up gifting it away. I thought it would be sweet based on the reviews, but it smells like a thin rose – it just didn’t work for me. It’s a pity because the price is good. Ideal for those over 30, don’t buy blindly.
Disappointing due to its fleeting nature, nothing memorable. End of statement.
I like it a lot for summer-autumn rainy weather, when the rain and that heat mix and enhance the rose scent, which over time starts to smell like fresh and pleasant Nivea cream. Personally, I’m one of those people who sweat a lot, so fragrances almost never last for me, but this one does and projects for about 4 or 5 hours, then close to the skin in a very pleasant way. Perfect for rainy days and the right choice when it’s cold.
Brit isn’t as English as the box and the bottle pattern suggest, nor is the name. From the start, it has classic elements like bergamot and mandarin, plus exotic spices. It smells very unusual, but one must admit it’s delicious. It has a soft, delicate rose that never takes absolute prominence, staying subtle but perceptible until the powdery facet appears (I love this phase) and conveys sensations of a woody, warm, and oriental perfume. It transforms into a cheerful, versatile, floral, exotic, and cosy fragrance, all in one. Gentlemen who can’t do anything with powdery floral sweetness will hardly get excited, but I think Brit is better constructed and more accessible than many other calorie bombs, reaching its best performance when the temperature drops. If you use it at 30 degrees or more, unfortunately, it won’t last long on the skin. Curiously, this powdery rose, covered in notable nutmeg, is harmonious and surprises me by remaining definitively masculine. It’s an aroma to snuggle up in like a warm cashmere sweater in the coldest months.
Second review for the Burberry house and it’s Brit for Men. The truth is it didn’t impact me but it didn’t displease me either. It’s a balanced combination of rose and spices that gives a talc sensation (that’s what I perceive) and unfortunately I don’t feel the other notes. Its projection and trail are low, and the season it performs best is spring for daytime use. It has no projection or trail for evening use. Its use is both formal and casual; it doesn’t clash in any circumstance; over time, as it becomes intimate, it’s not intrusive. In summary, a powdery rose fragrance with low projection and trail for daytime, formal, or informal use.
It’s in the same citrus line as the memorable Bleu de Chanel. More elusive so you have an olfactory idea. There are better perfumes and ones of equal or lower price.
Burberry Brit for Men Launch: 2004. Perfumer: Antoine Maisondieu. I wasn’t familiar with this fragrance; these are my first impressions, and it seems incredible that with so many years on the market, I hadn’t tried it until today. It’s spectacular, clean, and elegant to a certain point. Citrus opening, spicy, and very floral. Ideal for spring, autumn, work, or school environments, but be careful: the rose stands out a lot with that talc-like iris touch. I recommend trying it before buying. For me, it was a great surprise; I expected something simple and it turned into a fragrance I loved. I will certainly look for the full bottle.
A fantastic fragrance from start to finish. First mistake: it doesn’t smell English. Does anyone know what an Englishman smells like? Mind you, I wasn’t referring to a mess. Let’s get to the important part: although they claim it has bergamot and green mandarin citrus, this isn’t a cologne. It has as much citrus as a Pagès sausage, therefore, none. It smells absolutely brilliant of soft, sweet rose (not the bloody Moschino Toy Boy), with spices, cardamom, nutmeg, tonka bean, and musk. Period. Delicious, addictive, and cheap (under 30 quid for 100ml on Notino). It’s not snobbish mediocrity or an uninspired clone like current pop perfumery, which with little imagination and inflated prices since the pandemic has left us in the lurch. As for longevity? On my skin, 5-6 hours. You shouldn’t listen to the hater trolls who just come to dump rubbish. On me, it radiates for 2 hours and lasts 4 hours close to the skin; I don’t ask for more. If I fancy it after 5 hours, I reapply and that’s it. Just like with 20,000 more expensive and hyped perfumes. If you’re looking for a beast mode aroma that smells on your aunt in the village and lasts over 12 hours, leave the cash on a Sauvage Elixir and skip this Brit. Versatility? I wear it even for sleeping, on any date and season. Nobody has ever told me I stink, mate. With over 80 perfumes, this one has earned me some compliments. It puts a better mood than putting on a hat before going to bed. Cheers.
It reminds me of L’Homme Ultime, though not the same; they share about five or six notes. A profile for a mature person in an office setting, a good scenario. For the price, a good option for semi-formal or formal wear. The rose note feels prominent and powdery, unlike the L’Homme Ultime which smells fresher to my nose.
I bought it blindly on a trip to Buenos Aires in February 2023, thinking it was a Burberry. I applied more than five sprays to get it close to my skin. Although I like the combination of notes, what a disappointment. I wouldn’t buy it again.
What a gem! I’ve had this bottle for ages and fell in love with the scent. I swore my ideal man would smell like this and always looked for it, but I was too shy to wear a men’s perfume myself. Finally, I mustered the courage, and today it’s mine. It feels like a warm embrace on a cold, rainy day (my absolute favourite). It smells woody with a sensual citrus touch and a sweetness that isn’t cloying, very ‘huggable’. So happy to own it! Hopefully, they don’t discontinue it; it’s a real treasure 🥂❤️
I loved this fragrance. I was looking for a perfume with rose that did not have oud or anything heavy, nor a heavy floral bouquet. I liked the Moschino Toy Boy a lot, but the drying of vetiver (a note I hate) repulsed me and I discarded it. I came across this perfume seeing online offers, tried it in the shop and fell in love. I do not like to get bogged down in poetic conceptualisations, so in summary: it has a friendly citrus opening that drops quickly, in 5-10 minutes, to give way to a very pleasant rose and stays there. It gives me a baby powder sensation, but nothing stinging or annoying. For me, it is a masculine unisex. I do not comment much on longevity, as I only buy perfumes for the scent (one can end up having so many that in the end they will not last a lifetime to spend them all).
Although it is a relatively inexpensive perfume, it smells delicious, like a clean and orderly man. It does not bother at all, but invites you to be close. It has a very pleasant powdery sensation. I feel it fits perfectly for daytime dates. Naturally, summer is not its best time, but it defends itself very well in autumn, winter and spring.
I love this perfume for its simplicity and rich scent. Above all for the rose, which is not invasive but very pleasant (do not expect a realistic and strong rose like in niche). It smells clean and elegant. I apply quite a lot so that it is noticeable, so I have no problem. I use it mainly in the office and it lasts a minimum of 6 hours. I have used it in autumn, which I think is the ideal season, on walks in parks where dry leaves and petrichor accompany it very well. I also like to use it at home for personal enjoyment. It is totally unisex and the quality-price ratio is beyond doubt.
I am very clear: this is NOT your fragrance if you are looking for an alpha male, masculine, aggressive scent that brings compliments, gym power or makes you stand out and turn heads. This IS your fragrance if you are looking for a sensation of cleanliness, balance and tranquillity in your personal bubble, without much projection. It is almost only for the wearer (generally one has to apply a lot for it to show a bit). Keep in mind that it has some feminine sparkles due to the rose touch, but it remains pleasant for both genders. It is for daily use, for the office, more formal than informal. Yes, it may remind you of baby colognes like Agugú, but it is all a matter of taste, just like the smell of petrol. In general, I give it an 8/10 because I would like it to project and last longer without having to apply it like a madwoman.
It is a good perfume, it smells great and gives a super clean, sophisticated and refined vibe thanks to its rose notes. Moreover, it is found at a very reasonable price. Personally, it did not hook me, as it is a very unisex and soft scent, like powdery rose. I am not saying it does not smell good; it is really good, but I feel it goes perfectly in cold climates. To each their own tastes: if you are of clean, refined and unisex tastes, you will surely like it.
Another attempt to make the modern man seem interesting without effort. Correct bottle, generic name, smells like an autumn 2004 catalogue. Does it work? Yes. Is it exciting? Absolutely not. The opening launches lemon, ginger and cardamom which sounds good on paper and lasts five minutes on the skin. Then it turns into warm musk with diluted woods, a shy rose that asks forgiveness for existing, and an indecisive powdery touch between elegant and clean. It lets itself be led, like on a Sunday afternoon. It has that air of a perfume that was fresh in its day and now only survives because it smells ‘nice’. It is on a tightrope between the forgettable and the functional. You use it for almost everything, but no one will ask what you are wearing. And if they do, the honest answer is: ‘Nothing special’. It is one of those that does not bother… and that is why they say nothing. Correct for giving to in-laws or for the office drawer. The best thing is that it does not pretend to be more than it is. The worst thing is that that is quite little.
Burberry Brit For Men or For Him (the same fragrance). A friend encouraged me to try it. It has that sweet-and-sour flavour that I like: subtle, not weak, not loud, just what is necessary. It aims to be a poem of romance without being cheesy, with a touch of shyness and a soft, clean fragility. The rose is delicate and caressing, mixing with something dusty, fresh and slightly sweet, seeking originality but falling short. Misunderstood or ignored, it is a fragrance that tries and fails; it arrives discreetly and pleasantly enough. Its performance is adequate, it projects and lasts just enough, but its virtue lies in that attempt to want without succeeding. Perhaps it is not for everyone, but if you are looking for something discreet with an introverted personality, it could work. It is versatile for any time of day; even a woman could wear it; I feel it is totally unisex. If you do not like to attract attention or be showy, this is for you. After a few days, it is not for me. The price is ridiculous. It smells insipid, obsolete and insignificant; it stands out within the ordinary but lacks charm and originality. Scent: 7, Projection: 2 hours, Longevity: 6 hours.
Burberry Brit For Men is spicy, aromatic and powdery. Very heavy on tonka bean and a floral rose accord. Normally rose goes with sweet and warm spices, but here it has little sweetness and is more powdery, reminding me of commercial talcs and a bit of Luna Rossa Black due to the tonka bean and musk base. It is a good option for the office as it is sober and non-invasive. Autumn, winter and fresh spring days suit it well, or a night date with a partner. Longevity is good, over 9 hours, but with a short trail; it is only noticeable very close. It goes unnoticed, little is said about it, yet it remains in stock. If you find it, I invite you to try it; perhaps it will be a pleasant surprise or not.
A subtle scent with great charm. There is nothing current that resembles it; it is timeless and does not smell like an older person’s perfume. The performance is poor; you pay for what it is. Ideal for all year round except extreme heat, perfect for mild days, informal occasions, or simply for relaxing at home with your partner. Scent: 7, Projection: 2 hours, Longevity: 5-7 hours on the skin.
Classic, fresh and elegant. I’m hooked on the roses and spices that give it that powdery, long-lasting touch. Perfumes are like art or music: there are tastes and there are revulsions; perhaps we reflect something of ourselves in them. This is a good example; for me, it’s the personal bubble that accompanies me for over eight hours. I won’t talk about projection (it’s not my priority), but I will say I’ll keep coming back to this jewel time and again.
