  • Montale has delicious fragrances, but some are very similar: Crazy in Love, Sensual Instinct, Intense Café, and Arabian Tonka. They vary in intensity from the softest to the most intense and in their notes (musky rose, praline, coffee, tonka bean). All are for sweet addicts. Is it worth owning them all? If you can find the 20ml size or decants, yes. If not, test first to see which suits you best. I love them all, with good longevity and sillage.

  • This isn’t like Arabian Tonka in my perception, although I bought it thinking it was a lighter version of Instant Crush. It’s spiced, intense, more floral than sweet, with leather and oud. It has good longevity and sillage. I would wear it blended with something sweet.

  • Why does Montale market this as feminine? On my skin it’s ambered with a wonderful, metallic saffran. I don’t notice the typical Montale rose; it lasts only five minutes at the start. It’s more like Velvet Fantasy or Arabian Tonka but without the fruity notes. The saffran and amber dominate the room: it’s sexy, provocative, and with top-notch fixation, projection, and longevity as always.

  • Hello! First review and what a treasure has arrived today. My goodness, what a perfume bomb. I tested it at 1pm and, although I showered seven hours later, my wrist still smells of Crazy. The longevity is beastly. On my skin it smells of roses and wood, with no detectable vanilla. Love at first sight, addictive, and I can’t stop smelling my wrist. I wasn’t scared it might be masculine; on the contrary, it’s one of my favourites. Don’t buy it blindly, try a decant first as it’s not a common perfume.

  • Mitafragance

The vanilla and rose blend here isn’t new, but they’ve added a ‘wild’ and carefree touch that gives it personality. I absolutely love it, and even the bees seem to agree. If you’re a man, you smell great in it too. I can detect it hours later and it’s very pleasant.

  • La esencia de la Victoria

With Crazy in Love, Montale plunges you headfirst into a love story: the wild rose takes command from the outset, accented by a greenish-blue violet leaf note, before saffron and amber add spice and depth. A vanilla and brown sugar base softens it without stripping away its character. It’s a fragrance with a strong presence, potent and with its own voice, ideal for those seeking a signature scent rather than mere accompaniment. However, be warned: the opening can be intense for those looking for something discreet, and its similarity to other spiced roses on the market detracts slightly from its originality. My advice: test it on your skin before parting with your money.

  • La esencia de la Victoria

Crazy in Love by Montale is a wild love bomb: a rose that grabs you instantly, with a green touch of violet and saffron and amber spices that give it depth. The vanilla and brown sugar base softens it without stripping its power. It’s potent, has its own voice, and is for those who want to make an impression. Watch out, the opening is strong and can resemble other spiced roses, so test on skin before buying.
