  • Another one that doesn’t work for me from this brand. Upon application, I coughed due to that tremendous powdery charge, similar to Chocolate Greedy or Red Aoud. Then a candied orange note becomes noticeable and smells nice, but it’s always underpinned by that common base note of the brand that I dislike. Over time, the fruity aspect shifts from citrus to more syrupy; I don’t smell apricot, but rather a baked cake with cocoa, like the ones I mentioned before. The vanilla doesn’t smell like pure vanilla, but like that cake. They say Vanille Absolu is natural; perhaps it’s my problem, hehe. It performs well, but this just doesn’t work for me, especially not at these prices.

I absolutely love it. It opens with a sweet, potent vanilla, accented by a slightly medicinal apricot, before settling into a creamy, custard-like vanilla. It’s quite linear, making it perfect for vanilla lovers; to me, it feels a bit more feminine than masculine. I see it as ideal for cold weather and evening wear. It has excellent longevity, projects heavily, and leaves a strong trail. Perfect for autumn and winter.

  • It’s my first Montale and, although I like it, it’s not what I expected. It has an extremely long-lasting scent with a very good trail, which has to be acknowledged, but it’s also linear and very synthetic. It’s an extremely sweet fragrance, with an opening that lingers for quite a while and is quite medicinal, and a dry-down with rich vanilla but also somewhat childish from my point of view. Certainly not the kind of scent I imagine for a niche house. It doesn’t seem elegant although it is pleasant. I think it could work well on its own for informal use or to layer under other perfumes if we want to add sweetness, unless they are devoured by its potency! EDIT: Although it’s informal and I wouldn’t use it for elegant occasions, over time this perfume has completely captured me and climbed the ranks to become one of my favourites. Extreme sweetness and eternal longevity. A delicious perfume. Scent 8/10, Longevity 10/10, Trail 9/10, Value for money 7/10, Versatility 6/10, Packaging 8/10. Would I buy again? Yes

  • This is my first Montale, and although I like it, it wasn’t what I expected. It smells extremely long-lasting and has good projection, which certainly has to be acknowledged, but it is linear and very synthetic. It’s a super sweet scent with a medicinal opening that lasts a good while, and a dry-down with rich but slightly childish vanilla for me. It’s not the elegant aroma I imagine for a niche house, although it is pleasant. I think it works well only for informal use or for layering under other perfumes to which you want to add sweetness, otherwise they will devour it with its potency! EDIT: Although it is informal and I wouldn’t use it for elegant occasions, over time it has won me over and risen to become one of my favourites. Extreme sweetness and eternal longevity. A delicious perfume. Scent 8/10 Longevity 10/10 Projection 9/10 Value for money 7/10 Versatility 6/10 Packaging 8/10 Would I buy again? Yes.

  • I tried it with great hope, but it was a letdown. On my skin, the vanilla doesn’t emerge until it dries down (about an hour). Initially, the apricot dominates everything; it’s synthetic and overly sweet. It’s not an unpleasant scent, but I didn’t expect this from a niche fragrance at this price point. The longevity is brutal; for instance, Vanille Absolu lasts less and has a more contained sillage. I’ve only worn it in cold weather, so I don’t know how it will fare in spring and summer, although I suspect the heat won’t agree with it given how cloying it is. Scent: 6.5/10, Longevity: 9/10, Sillage: 9/10. I wouldn’t buy it again.

  • I was really keen to try it and it has disappointed me. On my skin, the vanilla doesn’t appear until the dry-down (approx. 1 hour). In the opening, I notice the apricot overwhelmingly, very synthetic and cloying. Generally it’s not unpleasant, but I didn’t expect this from a niche house and at this price. Longevity is very good; for example, Vanille Absolu lasts much less and has a more moderate trail. I’ve only tested it on cold days, so I don’t know how it will evolve with high temperatures (spring-summer), although I predict these won’t do it any harm due to its sugary tendency. Overall: Scent 6.5/10, Longevity 9/10, Trail 9/10. Would I buy again: No

Since I tried the Manceras, I fell in love with that house, and even today when I ordered Sweet Vanille from Montale, which is a sibling to Mancera. What can I say about this jewel? It’s love at first sight 🥰. It smells like sweet baked cookies. Its dry-down reminds me of my beloved Coco Vanille by Mancera, with a vanilla so natural and of such high quality that, when you try it, any designer or celebrity perfume seems very artificial.

Since I tried Manceras I’ve been in love with that house, until today when I ordered Sweet Vanille from Montale, which is basically a sibling to Mancera. What can I say about this jewel? It’s love at first sight 🥰. It’s sweet baked cookies; its dry-down reminds me of my beloved Coco Vanille by Mancera, with such natural and high-quality vanilla that when you try it, any designer or celebrity perfume seems very artificial

The most synthetic vanilla I have ever smelled. It’s hard to believe it’s a perfume of that price with those characteristics…

  • lauraaaaa86

The most synthetic vanilla I’ve ever smelled, it’s unbelievable it’s that price and those characteristics

  • Ciberpirata

I bought Cafe Intense, then Roses Musk, and a few days ago Sweet Vanilla, all from Montale. It arrived at 9:30 and I only dared to spray it on my wrists (Barcelona, 28th July). By 11:00 I had an electrocardiogram and the nurse cleaned both wrists with alcohol. By 17:00 that sweet vanilla was still reaching my nose when it should have evaporated. At first the apricot was noticeable, but now only vanilla, burnt sugar, and a hint of musk remain, making it a bit powdery. It’s not elegant, sexy, or alternative; it’s pure enjoyment of that sweetness some of us adore. Like other Montales, it’s an oily liquid that takes time to dry; I interpret this means it has little alcohol. Very happy with all three and amazed by the price disparity: 60€ without shipping on N****o, whereas I see it for 120€ plus shipping in other shops

  • xakaranda

I love vanillas and bought this blind thinking I’d adore it, as I like other Mancera and Montale scents. Huge mistake: on my skin, the apricot mixed with synthetic vanilla creates a shrill smell that upsets my stomach, no cake or pastry. That said, longevity lasts three lifetimes and the trail is beastly. Luckily I have Velvet Vanilla which I adore madly. I think this is the perfume that has lasted the least in my collection

  • xakaranda

I love vanillas and that’s why I bought this perfume blind, thinking I would love it, considering I adore other perfumes from Mancera and Montale. Well, a grave mistake. On my skin, it produces a super loud smell of apricot mixed with a synthetic vanilla that makes my stomach turn; not a little cake or pastry. That said, longevity is three lives and projection is bestial. Fortunately, I have Velvet Vanilla which I adore madly 😍. I think it’s the perfume that has lasted the least in my collection.

  • SeekerofHugs

Sweet Vanilla is gourmand, mega sweet, simple and linear. Basically vanilla and apricot. I feel it’s missing something, perhaps a citrus note in the opening, like orange or bergamot with orange blossom. It smells like imagining a cake with lots of vanilla and apricot icing sugar. It’s not special or elegant; it’s a PERSONAL ENJOYMENT PERFUME that smells wonderful and makes you fall in love with it more and more as you use it. Good longevity, moderate trail. Highly recommended for vanilla baking lovers

  • How do I explain it? It’s literally a little lemon slice from the supermarket, exquisite and addictive. The opening is a bit confusing and synthetic, but then it dries down and ufff, you’ll love it. Sweet gourmand, pasty. Excellent longevity and a trail that captivates. You can feel it all day long; it’s a pleasure and I’d order it for you

  • SeekerofHugs

Sweet Vanilla is a gourmand perfume, mega sweet, fairly simple, and very linear. Basically, it’s just vanilla and apricot. Still, I feel it’s missing something, perhaps a citrus touch in the opening, like orange or bergamot, and orange blossom. It’s the scent of this and imagining a cake with lots of vanilla sugar icing and apricot. It’s not a special or elegant perfume… I would say it’s a PERSONAL PLEASURE PERFUME that smells wonderfully and makes you fall more and more in love with it as you use it. Good longevity and moderate projection. Highly recommended for lovers of baked vanilla scents.

  • frambuesasfrescas

Absolutely hooked on this; it’s my confidence and pampering perfume, pure nanai and tenderness, perfect for days when we want to hug ourselves or share sweetness with someone we love. Smells like the Queen of Cups

  • frambuesasfrescas

I adore it, and for me, it’s a perfume of self-love, pampering, cuddling, tenderness… for those days when we want to hug ourselves or share sweetness with those we love. It’s the perfume of a Queen of Cups.

  • I love it, it’s such a rich, rich, rich vanilla that it became one of my favourite fragrances. It has a citrusy touch and very, very sweet, like a lemon or orange cake. I recommend it a lot, I bought it blind and I have no regrets.

  • Reina Amigdala

I’m usually not harsh about fragrances because, as they say, it’s all in the eye of the beholder. But with this one, I can’t help but say it makes me ill; I find it extremely artificial in a disagreeable way. There’s something that gives me nausea. It’s far too sweet, with a hint of fermented milk. I tried it too many times and simply couldn’t take it.

  • Reina Amigdala

I’m not usually harsh on fragrances because it’s all a matter of taste. But about this one, I can only say it makes me ill; I find it extremely artificial, but not in a pleasant way. There’s something that gives me nausea. It’s too sweet, with a hint of fermented milk. I tried it too many times and couldn’t handle it.

  • I’ve realised that all the perfumes I like have vanilla, it’s almost my favourite scent… However, the vanilla in this Montale is so cloying and synthetic that it gives me rejection and nausea 🙈 I don’t know how they’ve done it xD, to the point that I have a sample and I can’t wear it!

  • I really like this perfume; as it dries it smells like super realistic cotton candy. Yes, it’s super synthetic but it doesn’t bother me, it lasts a long time and is mega sweet.

  • Sweet Vanilla by Montale is a work that shines for its simplicity, very well achieved. Here the vanilla is a little powdery, accompanied by fruity touches, resulting in an absolute delight. The vanilla note is very original; it’s not the classic one abundant in today’s gourmands, but an elegant and subtle one that combines masterfully with apricot, creating a singular aromatic work that will surely delight those around you. It’s a little-known fragrance by Pierre Montale that definitely deserves more attention. It’s worth exploring and I recommend it without a doubt.

  • Elenperfume

Vanilla and apricot. The vanilla is extremely sweet, like a peach cake, and I also notice something citrusy. It’s sweet and innocent but comforting at the same time. I’d wear this to watch a movie at home when it’s cold outside, having coffee in autumn. Perfect fragrance to mix, very pleasant. You can combine it with anything that’s missing a touch of vanilla.

  • Mine is weak. It projects hardly at all and fades from the skin in two hours. What a disappointment 😞

  • Woman in Love

I haven’t liked it much, to be honest. It’s too much bakery: cloying, overly sweet and quite monotonous. Besides, it has nothing to do with my beloved Vanille Absolu from the same house. There, the vanilla is much finer, more elegant… a completely different league.

  • colorinfinito

When applied, it smells like whipped cream on a lemon cake. A bit sugary, sweet and acidic. It has that artificial touch others mention, but it doesn’t bother me. As it dries, the vanilla is like milk or burnt caramel, like cotton candy; it reminds me of Princess, Marshmallow by Kyse or Kayali Vanilla 28, but being different, the dry-down is what makes me think of them. It’s lovely. If you like gourmand and vanilla, go for it 😉

  • I agree with another comment: it’s super delicious, fruity and very sweet, but you can tell it’s weak. Still, I love it and use it as if it were functional.
