Instant Crush by Mancera

Yes, it reminds me a lot of BR by MFK. They aren’t clones or distant cousins, but the connection is strong. Saffron is the star and, to be honest, I hate it, so it didn’t give me an instant crush. Alongside the saffron there are hidden citrus and ginger notes. Then come the flowers and non-sticky resins, as if the wood is releasing its essence. Soft and pleasant. Vanilla takes over quickly, replacing the saffron. In dry down it’s vanilla, resinous and woody, very pleasant. Opening is strident, fresh and sparkling; dry down is warm, sweet and deep. Very evolving, unisex and versatile. Better suited to temperate climates and informal occasions. Not for me due to the opening, but I understand it’s easy and special, optimal for those starting in niche.

Very versatile and moderate compared to the other six from the house. It’s unisex, subtle, cosy and elegant. On my skin it smells of vanilla and talc. The website references don’t quite fit: Baccarat Rouge Rouge is very different, more harmonious and without olfactory fatigue. With Arabian Tonka they aren’t similar either, although they share notes. Arabian is more masculine, a scandalous and sensual bomb; Instant Crush is slightly feminine, sexy and elegant. Both are attractive.

At first it reminds me of Baccarat Rouge, but in dry down it turns towards something sweeter and warmer. It’s a fantastic perfume and, best of all, it doesn’t smell like the cheap dupes you’ll smell everywhere. Don’t buy it blindly, but it deserves a 20/10.

I bought it four years ago with high expectations and it disappointed me. It wasn’t for me. I would try it from time to time to see if I would fall in love or to let it oxidise, but nothing changed and it ended up in oblivion. Yesterday I saw it in a corner and tried it on my hand: surprise. It had become warmer, woodier and with more vanilla. Although they recommend five sprays, I think two are enough. Not everyone needs to knock people over; everyone applies what they like. We all perceive differently. After so much time, its maceration made it ideal for cold days: warm, woody with a vanilla sweetness that isn’t gourmand. I liked it, but it wasn’t love at first sight.

Easy to use, super dense and bombastic, it bathes rooms and leaves a tremendous trail, at the level of Mancera’s Beast Mode scents like Cedrat Boise or Red Tobacco. I keep a lot of affection for the house; I started with Cedrat Boise and Red Tobacco and they pleasantly surprised me in performance. Instant Crush doesn’t fall behind and is part of my top 3, although the house has forgettable perfumes. It opens with the tingling of ginger and citrus that last a few minutes, eclipsed by oriental spices. Many feel it like cotton candy; I’d say unroasted caramel, like fairground apples. The sweetness with an amber sensation reminds me of that. The wood is muted by the extreme sweetness, with a musky base and very present vanilla. Brutal longevity: 16 hours, I can feel it on clothes for days. Sillage of 6 hours, don’t abuse it. It doesn’t bother others. Pros: about 6 sprays and you’re set until night; despite the price, the 120ml lasts long enough to gift; they’ll notice where you are. Cons: many have the same Baccarat Rouge DNA, you lose the surprise; there are cheap Arab dupes that get very close; very unisex and with low versatility, in summer you’re a killer if you use it. Fragrance: 7/10, Longevity: 10/10, Projection: 10/10, Compliments: 7/10, Total: 8.5/10.

Ideal if you’re looking to buy blind the Instant Crush. If you like unisex perfumes and sweet scents, you’ll surely enjoy it. In my case, it was a blind purchase with no regrets. It’s quite unisex, perhaps slightly more feminine, but it suits men perfectly too. A reference I know is Club de Nuit Untold; they aren’t identical but follow the same idea. If you liked that, you’ll probably love this one.

I think it’s very unisex, though with very fine nuances. In the end, I gave it to my mother. The scent is rich, associated with someone clean, although it gave her a headache due to its intensity. I find it versatile, though I prefer it in the heat. 8/10.

Very good perfume, one of the best sweet ones I have. They say it’s similar to Baccarat Rouge 540, but since I don’t have it, I bought Club de Nuit Untold because they say it’s a similar dupe. Upon smelling it, yes, it’s similar, but Untold is sweeter, cloying; Instant Crush is less sweet. The quality difference is noticeable. It has nothing to do with Baccarat apart from that; it goes in a more sophisticated, clean, and less cloying direction. When dry it’s softer but still sweet. Very good for lovers of sweet perfumes. If you like them and want to buy blind, you won’t regret it.

If I define it in one word: ‘Sweet’. In two: ‘Super sweet’. Instant Crush is a beauty from Mancera that combines notes that culminate in an exquisite shot of sugar. The opening doesn’t call much attention and might make you doubt the hype. But in the dry down the sweet magic explodes, enchanting you instantly. Regarding comparisons with Baccarat, I think it’s misguided. Do they have similarities? Yes, the amberwood in the heart gives a distinctive sweetness, but that’s all. Reducing Instant Crush to ‘copying the BR540 DNA’ is incongruous and disrespectful. Anyone who knows both fragrances will understand. Conclusion: highly recommended for those who enjoy sugar, literally.

Look without filters: ignore those who just want to complain. This Mancera Insta Crush is a marvel. Yes, it resembles Baccarat Rouge 540, but it is not a copy; it is the masculine version of that scent, and the notes that differentiate it are very noticeable, giving it a super masculine touch. Buy it blindly, it is incredible.

It is the DNA that all women have been wearing lately, except in CDMX (Ariana Grande’s Cloud), and it has already worn me out. It is a niche with bitter citrus, a plastic saffron that confuses with ethyl maltol, and a very synthetic vanilla. Call me crazy, but at times, after many hours, I detected that unpleasant vanilla-like smell of Bharara King, only in the trail. It is not a bad perfume, but it is no longer novel. If you are obsessed with the DNA, use it; it projects and lasts well, it is a double-edged sword. Anyway, try it, it is superior quality, but I stick with Thomas Kosmala; fortunately, I was able to get rid of my bottle.

This perfume broke my heart :(. When I smelled it in the perfumerie I loved it and without thinking twice I bought it; the first few times I used it I still thought it was beautiful, and then I don’t know what happened, it acquired a very unpleasant metallic note that ruined the scent. It was not rendered unusable, but nothing like that scent that fell in love with me. Has this happened to anyone else?

Well. Finally. I am in the process of incorporating this type of sweet and metallic fragrances into my collection. I had Red Temptation and could not handle it; the dry down too milky… I tried Burberry Her and its acerbic opening made me fall in love, but the dry down resulted in the same for me as RD… After reading reviews of perfumes of this particular style, I came across INSTANT CRUSH and wow!!! I bought a 10ml decant… What an addictive, long-lasting, gummy, caramelised and particular thing… It leaves traces where you go and you can tell it has that different touch… That I don’t know what… It is not for buying blindly.

One of my favourite Manceras by a long shot; I find it brilliant. Good performance, lovely trail, and very flattering wherever you wear it. A great scent for intermediate to cool temperatures. I adore the way its notes assemble, coming together beautifully on the skin at mid-evolution; it’s a perfume delight.
