Tonka Cola by Mancera

I gave it two stars because the cinnamon doesn’t bother me as much as I expected, even though I usually hate that note. The cola scent is noticeable, but it feels a bit off, as if it were going bad 😖. The only saving grace is the longevity and sillage; wow, the oil is incredible, so spray it from a distance.

A fun fragrance. The effervescent cola note is just like when you open the fizzy drink, followed by cinnamon and cherry, as if it were the soda without the fizz. It’s not a beast mode; longevity and sillage are moderate. A good option for autumn and winter; it’s refreshing to see different fragrances being released.

Do you want a cologne that people will like, that stands out, and that makes them ask what it is? It’s this one. For evening and dates, to make an impression and to please. In my opinion, it doesn’t break the mould we’ve been used to smelling for years, but it has something sexy; it’s like the smell of a Coca-Cola bottle cap, but add cherry and cinnamon; those last two notes play an incredible role in the fragrance. For me, it’s definitely in the top 3 of Mancera.

Well done Mancera for launching this type of fragrance; nothing like what’s on the market. It opens with an effervescent cola note accompanied by a very marked lemon. In the dry down, it settles with cinnamon, nutmeg, and more spices. After five or six hours, the dry down is a sweet and sour lemon, uffas. It has more clarity in its notes when worn at night or on very fresh mornings.

Its proposal is original and bold, marking a clear difference from the excess of conventional fragrances. The main essence, which recalls the sweet version of a classic cola, presents itself almost as a wink to sweets and gummies, making it clear that the inspiration goes beyond the simple drink. The opening is effervescent and playful: notes of lemon, cherry, and cinnamon appear all at once in a sparkling start, evoking the fizzy freshness of a cherry soda. However, this ephemeral prelude quickly gives way to the endearing presence of the cola note, which settles with determination. This transition, almost like the closing act in a theatre, creates a surprising effect where nostalgia blends with modernity. As the perfume settles, its character evolves into a more complex and mature facet. The dry down reveals a soapy and spiced touch that, far from being a mere addition, gives Tonka Cola an unexpected and disconcerting air. For some, this combination may result in intrigue, an invitation to explore unconventional nuances; for others, it may feel a bit distant, like an experiment that challenges the limits. In a way, Tonka Cola stands as an evolved and sophisticated version of the iconic Versace Blue Jeans, adding depth. It’s not a perfume destined to be a daily staple, but rather an olfactory indulgence for those moments when a different and memorable experience is sought. Its longevity, hovering around six hours, makes it a perfect choice for occasional occasions where its unique personality can truly be appreciated. Its originality and complexity make it worthy of revisiting, although for those who prefer more discreet or versatile aromas, it may seem a bit daring.

Unique scent. I never buy blind, but I tried this with my girlfriend and it blew our minds. At first it sat close to the skin, but after two hours it projected beastly; we looked at each other and said how delicious it smells. We kept walking and got another burst from just one spray on my forearm. The next day I could still smell it faintly. That performance made me buy it: I was torn between this and Cedrat Boise, but by the two-hour mark the other felt nothing. Good purchase.

A work of perfumery art, yet in its dry-down it gives me a slight sensation of smelling wet dog.

It smells like those sweets sold in Chile called ‘Media hora’. More than Coca-Cola, it’s very similar to that sweet; still, it’s a rich and striking perfume, perhaps usable for a party in weather that isn’t too cold or too hot. Good perfume. 8.5/10.

I could not have expected less from Pierre Montale… Tonka Cola is quite an experience. It opens with a fun, stinging burst of cherry, lime and nutmeg that wraps you in a warm bubble, giving way to the heart and then the base of tonka bean, vanilla and benzoin which round it off deliciously. Not for formal occasions, but perfect for a jovial afternoon or night with friends. One of the few fragrances I would repurchase to keep in stock.

Tonka Cola: An opening of sweet and stinging cherry, cinnamon and nutmeg. Middle: The initial blend lives up to the name, with a potent, greedy and fun note of Coca-Cola appearing. Dry down: Defined by a cola that gradually becomes resinous and clean. Projection and longevity: around 4-5 hours of projection and nearly 8 hours of longevity. Conclusion: Oily, sweet and sparkling, absolutely fun! It is a highly festive fragrance, inviting you to stroll under the sun or to the beach before ending up at a night party. The cola note is realistic and exquisite, giving a resinous finish that prevents it from being cloying. Rarely do I write with such effusion about a sweet scent, but Tonka Cola has won me over.

What a thrill to try an original and different perfume. I have a sample that I have used a couple of times and I love it, but I prefer it on a man, as the dry down is very masculine. If the cola, lemon and cinnamon notes dominated throughout, there would be no problem, but over time the patchouli and benzoin emerge, and the scent becomes soapy, like a toiletry product from a mature man with a vintage air. Very fun and with excellent performance.

Undoubtedly, this is a powerhouse fragrance. Upon opening, it smells of cinnamon and lemon, without the Coca-Cola note, but once applied to the skin, everything changes; you can almost feel the fizz in your nose. The blend of cinnamon, lemon, and cherry in a cocktail with Coca-Cola is incredible. Lasts 8 to 9 hours with excellent projection.

One of the most fun fragrances I’ve tried. The opening evokes Coca-Cola candies with a string of sour sweets, giving way to something masculine and enigmatic. I would gift this to a man with a good sense of humour. I recommend it; I’m fascinated by the cinnamon note.

I like it; the opening is Ceylon or Cassia cinnamon (spicy) with Coca-Cola sweets and cherry. After the initial hit, the scent of Coca-Cola and cherry remains with lots of vanilla and tonka bean sweetness. It’s playful, ideal for daily wear in temperate to cold weather, better in the evening. The downside is that the cinnamon feels synthetic, detracting from its value. Worth it. With more experience, the opening is Coca-Cola gummies, cherry, spicy cinnamon, and Sicilian lemon, but as it dries down, cinnamon dominates, along with creamy patchouli, tonka bean, vanilla, and benzoin resin. Definitely for autumn and winter.

It’s the first fragrance from the brand I’ve known and I absolutely loved it! It literally smells like Coca-Cola fizzy drinks with cherry from the USA, with a touch of cinnamon and lemon that gives a seltz sensation. In the evolution, a spiced tonka predominates which stands out on my skin as it dries down. I already have it on my wishlist; I hope it arrives in my country as so far I’ve only managed to get a decant.
