Finally, something interesting amidst all the new releases! It’s an exquisite, original feminine gourmand. Perhaps I won’t buy the full bottle, but if I smelled this on a woman in the street, I’d turn my head. It opens with nuts and an indefinable fruity touch; to my nose, it feels chocolatey, reminiscent of Montale’s Chocolate Greedy mixed with sweet rose and lychee. At times it feels like a rose and cocoa butter body cream, but in the air it’s photorealistic: pink macarons. Surprising, addictive, and it lasts over eight hours with a heavy trail initially that later becomes soft and enveloping all day.
I was expecting a gourmand and found a floral; I looked for praline and vanilla, but found rose instead. It’s pleasant, but it doesn’t smell of macarons; it’s full-on rose with a very subtle base of sweet and nutty notes. Luckily I ordered the decant first, because if I’d bought the full bottle, I would have regretted it.
It smells exquisite! Elegant and light with an enormous trail. I’m not a huge rose fan as it often smells old and heavy to me, but here it’s embraced by the sweetness of praline, lychee and almond, and you end up loving it. I only have the decant, but I want to wear it to weddings, my own wedding, signing a mortgage, or any event where I want to smell wonderful. When a perfume is well-made, you simply enjoy it; you don’t label it.
When Olivier Cresp’s Akro fragrance finally reached my country, I fell in love at first sniff for that macaron scent, my favourite dessert. I had the Bake on my radar, but Crush stole my heart. It has a strong almond note, but not the elegant kind found in other perfumes; it’s a super-sweet almond. I’ve already added it to my wishlist and hope you try it soon too.
My partner gifted me a decant and nailed it: it’s delicate and elegant without being pretentious. It smells of fine, sweet rose, though on my skin it picks up a powdery note. Perfect for everyday wear without being overwhelming; it lasts around six hours with good projection and clings to clothes.
