Dark by Akro

I have used it on the cold mornings in Bogotá and it makes me feel warm as if I were drinking a cup of chocolate. It has good sillage; I am perceived when I move, and I have received many compliments, especially from gentlemen. Its longevity is good… It is worth buying.

I entered looking for black chocolate and found the smell of a freshly opened pack of Nobel cigarettes. What exquisite tobacco leaves, please. I am still looking for chocolate and gourmand scents. If they appear, let me know.

Smells like strawberry covered in chocolate. Very realistic, quite interesting, but I’m not sure if I fancy wearing it on my skin.

A master of perfumery, Oliver Cresp. The quality shows. This perfume met all my expectations. Along with Dolce Passione, they are my two favourite chocolate gourmands. DP is sweeter and smells more like hazelnut. Dark is smokier and bitter, more wearable. Highly recommended.

Very realistic black chocolate.

A natural black chocolate perfume, slightly toasted with hazelnut and spices. I find it very curious how it behaves on me: while in the air it smells like a sweeter, vanilla-leaning cocoa, close to the skin I perceive it as more bitter with a smoky touch. Either way, it is a 100% gourmand, realistic and delicious aroma. In its opening it can result in being a bit more masculine, however I find it 100% unisex. Nevertheless, it is true that I like it more on my partner than on myself. Suitable only for cold temperatures and occasions where you don’t need to go unnoticed, because this perfume makes itself known… and leaves no one indifferent. Its longevity on my skin is over 10 hours with heavy projection and sillage initially, then dropping to a medium intensity for most of its evolution. In that sense, very good. Although perhaps I have Cacao Porcelana ahead of this on my wish list regarding cocoa aromas, I have liked it immensely and do not rule out getting it at some point. Akro does not disappoint.

Dark is the most realistic chocolate and cocoa scent I have ever smelled. I was fascinated by the opening, but as it dries down, it takes on a fairly masculine, smoky air that, unfortunately, isn’t for me.

This is a very well-crafted scent; the notes feel well-connected. It is not at all sweet or cloying. If you are looking for milky chocolate like the sweet stuff sold in shops and supermarkets, then no, no, no, this is not for you. It has not a shred of sweetness; it’s like a handful of toasted hazelnuts on a comal with a few cocoa beans. Basically, that is what it smells like: toasted hazelnuts with whole cocoa beans. Totally unisex, on my skin it feels soft, although I must try it alone, as I tested it alongside two of Bois1920 and another from Nishane, which turned out to be proper bombs. EDIT 08/06/23: My mistake was testing it with two other Nardos bombs, so I apologise to Monsieur Cresp. Today, taking advantage of the cloudy and slightly cooler day, I tested it alone, outdoors, and without ‘beasts’ to overpower it to know its true aroma and power, and ¡BOOM! Used in open areas, it ¡EXPLODES! It smells intensely of toasted hazelnuts (with the skin half-removed and slightly burnt) sprinkled with the crystallisation of slowly melting brown sugar and coated in a fine layer of chocolate, with a tiny hint of what seems to be an undeclared sweet tobacco note, very, very small, almost going unnoticed due to the potent hazelnut smoke. A true wonder entirely worthy of its creator’s capabilities; impossible not to love it, although I must admit it took me a couple of days to assimilate its aroma and recognise its notes, even those three undeclared here on Fragrantica (sweet tobacco, smoky notes, vanilla pod, and brown or muscovado sugar). Longevity: pfff! It’s been nearly 12 hours and it’s still going, a total phenomenon. Projection: easily about 3 metres on the street, where I tested it today. Value/Quality: perfect, worth every penny paid. Versatility: it fails here, it is more informal or casual, suitable for catching up with friends.

This perfume is spectacular; I have used the vial several times and the bottle is on its way. I already loved Olivier Cresp’s classic creations, but this has taken his creativity up another notch and has dazzled me even more. I cannot wait to try more from his Akro brand. It is a gourmand that is not too obvious, a true wonder. Completely unisex, perhaps with a tiny bit more masculinity. On my skin, it smells of hazelnuts, pure cocoa, tobacco leaves, and a touch of cinnamon. As it dries down, it becomes increasingly sweet and velvety. It has great projection and lasts over 12 hours on my skin. Due to its projection, it is eminently winter. A delicious fragrance; Olivier Cresp surprises us in Akro with bold scents, moving away from the elegant floral notes that I also adore. Scent 9.5/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 9/10, Value/Quality 8/10, Versatility 6.5/10, Packaging 6/10. Would I buy again? Yes.
