Descripción

No Limit$ by Philipp Plein Parfums is a spicy oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2020, this composition is signed by perfumer Alberto Morillas. In its top notes, the fragrance unfolds a vibrant explosion of black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, star anise, cloves, aquatic notes, ginger, and bergamot. The heart reveals a seductive blend of dark chocolate, bourbon vanilla, incense, and amber, while the base rests on a robust foundation of leather, woody notes, oud wood, patchouli, and cedar.

  • I was very attracted by its notes of leather, amber, incense, chocolate, and bourbon vanilla. A poor marketing campaign has kept me from trying it until now; it’s a fabulous perfume for the night with an air of mystery. Ideal for lovers of amber woods and seductive scents. It opens with leather and wood, a base of pepper and cardamom, and evolves into amber tones while maintaining the mystery. Good sillage, not a beast, perfect for a dark shirt and leather jacket. Nothing to do with the Gucci Guilty Absolute, which smells like a belt; this is darker. It seems to last easily over 8 hours.

  • Forget the kitsch bottle; what matters is that it smells good, and this one delivers. I don’t show off the bottle every time I go out; sometimes we pay for the packaging and the perfume is a disaster. It’s a rough, nocturnal fragrance with plenty of personality, one of the best I’ve ever smelled. It costs less than the Black Tie by Fragrance One, with which it shares a 98% similarity. 8/10 for not being as versatile, but BRAVO.

Apart from the bottle (original but not luxurious), the scent has attitude. It’s a bold leather, rougher than the Gucci one, with an ‘animal’ touch. Given they’re from Morillas, the similarity isn’t surprising. The downside is that on my skin, it starts with a sour and salty note, but it fades quickly. Afterwards, it settles into a spiced and sweetened leather with subtle amber and vanilla, making it wearable. I’d take away that marine note which spoils it a bit. High longevity, moderate projection. Stock is running low, so buy soon before the price goes up.

A perfume for an eccentric character. The bottle looks like a black card, slightly kitsch but original. I didn’t expect a designer scent without personality, but I stumbled upon something particular: smoky at first, then fresh and pleasant. It’s multifaceted and long-lasting. Smells citrusy and balanced, with spices vying for dominance. When the incense blends with sweetened leather, wood, and vanilla amber, that’s when it hooks me. It’s noticeable, nocturnal, and stylish. It doesn’t seek to please everyone. A good current alternative if you want to step outside the conventional.

  • To cut to the chase: it’s not bad. To me, it smells familiar, nothing groundbreaking. But the longevity and trail are excellent. On my skin, it’s well-crafted synthetic leather with cedar, patchouli and vanilla: dry, sharp and mature. I wouldn’t buy it if you prefer creamy scents, but it’s ideal for a bohemian style with jeans and leather. Try before you buy; it doesn’t suit everyone.

Anyway, I was going to restock Gucci and decided to buy this blind on Notino. I promise to review the experience this weekend. I hope it works well for going out, now that the fiestas are coming to Valencia.

  • juancar677

It’s not a beast, but it’s perfect for evening wear. It’s one of the most interesting new releases in the genre: mysterious, addictive and sensual. I can’t find a real similarity to another fragrance; although the leather hints at Gucci, the evolution is distinct. It’s not a beast, but it is very special.

  • The leather note reminds me of Gucci Guilty Absolute, but then it takes a different path. Although it sounds dark and sophisticated, it smells fresh and isn’t tiring. I love it so much I regret not buying the larger bottle. I’ll keep it to use frequently.

  • perfumefaoc

I was gifted this and it smells fantastic. If you own Bvlgari Man in Black, you’ll know they’re twins by Alberto Morillas: vanilla, wood, leather and patchouli. Perfect for going out or formal events. It projects strongly with pepper and citrus notes. The longevity isn’t beastly but it’s worth it. Buy blind: yes.

  • @frankx79 I haven’t tried it but had to check the video as you said… and don’t look, it seems total rubbish 🤣 if the 1million ad was pathetic, this beats it by a landslide

  • I see many comparing it to Black Tie. Both are by master Morillas. However, while Jeremy’s will awaken compliments and could be considered a blind buy, this No Limits must be tested before purchase as it isn’t for everyone and, like Guilty, may not appeal to many and could even cause rejection. In any case, Black Tie has much higher quality and is a better perfume than this one from Camberra.

  • A gem 💎, no hype; much closer to a niche scent than many perfumes categorised as such. It could easily represent Nishane or Xerjoff. To my nose, cardamom, anise, leather, chocolate, and oud predominate. It’s among the best I’ve tried at the level of Alexandria II, Ombre Nonade, or Fan Your Flames, without being similar to any of them; I refer to the quality of the aroma. Well done by Alberto Morillas on this perfume.

  • gosxicotet

It has similarities with Man in Black and others featuring leather notes and a touch of sweetness. On my skin, it smells of rubber, which I don’t dislike but doesn’t invite me to overuse the perfume. It’s a somewhat risky scent from my perspective. It’s worth trying.

  • Don Perfumón

I expected something more potent; I like the smell a lot, but it doesn’t project much and has an average longevity of about 5 hours on skin. The aroma is very rich; anise, pepper, chocolate, and leather are what predominate, and while it lasts, it is very, very pleasant. I would have liked more projection and longevity, something that made a bit more of an impression. If you’re looking for something very potent, this isn’t it; it’s more of a date or intimate fragrance.

  • ShiseidoTactics

I won’t claim it’s a ‘dupe’ of Bvlgari Man In Black, but it certainly belongs to the same style. However, this creation by Morillas has something that doesn’t quite sit right with me… and I still can’t put my finger on what it is. That said, it is a fragrance with sufficient commercial appeal and works well as a gift. A scent for a younger target.

  • I won’t mention the notes as I’m not an expert, though I do enjoy collecting. The review is straightforward: don’t buy blindly; purchase a 2ml decant and test it on your skin. For me, it’s not an aroma that elicits a ‘wow’, especially not at the bottle price. My nose detects a metallic touch that isn’t unpleasant but simply didn’t appeal to me, and I asked men and women and they didn’t like it either. There are better options to smell good and stand out without spending extra.

  • I own Cerruti 1881 Signature and this Phillip Plein immediately reminded me of it… they share notes and in both, the leather is the standout, but the Cerruti lacks the incense and bitter chocolate… I’ll be getting a bottle soon as it’s not redundant to have both.

  • Arrived yesterday, I spotted it on sale and couldn’t say no. At that price (£44), it seems like a good perfume. It smells very similar to Black Tie (which I adore) but is slightly weaker and less distinct. The projection is good for the first two hours, reaching about a metre away. Afterwards, it settles into a skin scent and lingers for around 10 hours. It’s an average performance for a designer EDP. If you like Black Tie-style fragrances and find them cheap, don’t hesitate to buy it.

  • molletmod.73

A tamed, budget-friendly knock-off of Gucci Guilty Absolute. It features leather, soft spices, incense, and a hint of chocolate to soften the harsh leather. To me, it smells unnecessary, boring, and one-dimensional. On my skin, it lasts barely three hours with a minimal trail. Nowadays, outside of expensive niche brands, there are plenty of similar commercial fragrances that are bolder or floral, even at Zara or supermarkets. I bought this due to compulsive consumption because I love leather. If it weren’t for the mega-cool black bottle with the holographic logo and skull, I wouldn’t buy this Phillip Plein even if the Tato did.

  • carloslainezd

I tried it and it repulsed me; it reminded me of a cigarette butt in an ashtray with water. And I love Gucci Guilty Absolute, which is a very realistic tanned leather.

  • josemanuelclaro77

If you like Gucci Guilty Absolute and are afraid to spend it because it seems discontinued (or will move to a private line like ‘The Voice of the Snake’ with niche prices), this Philipp Plein No Limits smells like excess stock from the Absolute with more benign notes. I’m rebellious, so it has to appeal to me. Yes, it has the aberration of emulating a cheap-looking trillion-dollar credit card, doubly rebellious. I prefer the Absolute, but this smells good and performs well. Don’t try it before buying because it’s rare to see, so you have to buy blind or ask someone to let you smell it. Since it’s by Alberto Morillas, I didn’t hesitate and it was a success. I enjoy both.

  • Monkeyluffy

Does anyone know the difference between the version with the gold plaque and the silver one? Thanks.

  • Leather from start to finish… I don’t notice any other notes; it smells like pure, exclusive leather from the beginning to the end. The other notes seem like pure filler.

  • I bought it blind and didn’t get it wrong, although no one has complimented me. The opening doesn’t grab you, but that animalic leather with chocolate is what I love; it’s my personal enjoyment fragrance for going out at night, feeling ‘millionaire’ and different from the herd. It goes with a black and expensive look. I bought it on Miravia, batch 2018, and unfortunately, it fades to skin scent quite quickly, but it’s worth it and is now my favourite. If it had more potency, it would be perfect.

  • Chocolate leather, very masculine. It resembles GGA in some ways, but toned down, more to the taste of the masses. It’s perfect for cold seasons and night. I liked it quite a bit, but don’t buy it blindly. Rating: 8.3/10.

  • Benjamin10

A masculine fragrance, not suitable for everyone or all climates. It’s very spicy; those anise and spice notes are quite noticeable at a certain dry-down point alongside the leather. It’s interesting because it changes quite a bit throughout its life on skin and clothes. I don’t see it projecting much, but in my case, that doesn’t bother me. Perhaps it won’t generate many compliments, but people might wonder what you’re wearing. I think it’s of very good quality and personally, I like it quite a bit. It’s not my favourite, but I’d certainly use it until the bottle is empty.

  • naso_en_ciernes

A great leather fragrance, in the style of Morillas (it’s not a variant of Gucci Guilty Absolute, it’s another leather variant, but you can tell the perfumer’s hand). One of those modern leather scents, Varvatos Dark Rebel style: intense, masculine, and energetic. It’s not a clone of that Varvatos either; that was another wonder, but it deserves its own review. For leather followers in designer scents, it’s a great option, with enough weight to be intense but not complicated. Instead, it’s pleasant and makes any man who knows good taste stand out. There’s no watered-down Invictus nonsense here; it’s a proper, well-made perfume, another success by the master. Performance and projection are decent, tending to be good. For daytime and nighttime wear in autumn, winter, and even cold spring, you just need to wear it without worrying about pleasing others; it’s for enjoying the leather accord. Spices, incense, woods, and leather are the vibes I pick up most; it sits between Zara Elevated Oud and Gucci Guilty Absolute so you have an idea of other Morillas leather versions. All three are different. Give it a try.

  • I don’t like it. It’s an anise leather with chocolate and spices that I dislike. And look, I usually like leathers, but this sweet and spiced leather is a complete no-go for me.

  • I don’t know how I ended up with No Limits by Philipp Plein, but curiosity and friends who aren’t afraid to spend have their tricks. The bottle, a black and gold card covered in symbols of power, already screamed that it would be a bold statement. What I didn’t expect was how peculiar it actually is. At first, a mix of sweetness and leather defies expectations, as if the perfume is shouting that it has no fear of exaggeration. The leather is rough yet shiny, with spices and rum. Up to this point, it’s fine; it vaguely recalls Paco Rabanne’s 1 Million but with less refinement. It has a rebellious, almost teenage spirit. Then come the woods and vanilla, softening that initial leather slightly, but not too much. This is where it gets complicated. Is it poorly made? No, but it’s not well-balanced either. It’s like a party where everyone wants to be the centre of attention at the same time; the one shouting, the one jumping, the one looking flashy. The sweetness, the liquor, and the leather all want to shine, but it ends up being a controlled chaos. Would I project the scent of a teenager in a department store before going out? That anarchic and excessive mix. To be honest, there’s something enjoyable in that arrogance. It’s like being in an action movie, like Jason Statham in ‘Crank’, all exaggerated and fast. But that’s where I disconnect. It needs a specific occasion: a night out, a flashy party, where discretion isn’t an option. Not for everyday wear. As it never quite settles, even hours later it still projects that mix of leather and spices which, while intriguing, can be exhausting if you’re not in the right mood. The price also plays a part; with that luxury marketing, I expected more versatility or a more complex evolution. For me, it’s more of an experience than a daily perfume. I enjoy it in decant and use it sporadically to draw attention. Would I buy the full bottle? No. There are others that handle luxury with more grace. If you’re looking for something in the line but with more balance, try 1 Million Prive or Tom Ford’s Ombre Leather.

  • I love it, buy blind, it was a hit. Cinnamon top notes, woody and leather base, with chocolate notes becoming prominent later. Good purchase.

  • Josué González Céspedes

Incredibly delicious perfume, excellent for any occasion and super masculine, nothing unisex, this is for men.

  • kikehdez16

Beware of the leather in this perfume. It is very similar to GG Absolute, but less elegant, dirtier. If you enjoy smoky leather, it might be for you. No compliments, it is a matter of personal taste. Personally, GG Absolute is more elegant and I prefer it.

  • aromaadurazneroReseñasYT

Sweet, chocolate, leather, long-lasting. Gucci Guilty? The one I have isn’t sweet, I don’t know how it can resemble it.

  • vladidelmundo

Do not be put off by the bottle, possibly the most repulsive on the designer perfume market. Once you overcome your prejudices, it is a worthy successor to Mugler’s A-men: a contemporary vision with smoky, spiced and chocolatey leather, but without that rubber or tyre undertone of the original. It is pleasant for cold climates and quite niche for a designer scent. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel if you need leather accords that soften without smelling so rough; it is a good option.

  • Dassbartender

I’ve been testing it for a week and it’s a wonderful scent. It’s like smelling a fine leather jacket where you kept the wrapping of a dark chocolate and some spice potpourri. Friends and colleagues have asked me why it smells so good, and customers at the bar said they loved it, that it smelled like a man who knows what he wants.

  • I caught it twice and loved it. I’ve already ordered it. A masculine leather and bitter dark chocolate perfume, spiced and very elegant. It doesn’t seem anything like the GG Absolute that I also tried and liked. I prefer this PP. Best regards.

  • Tested with two sprays on skin. Leather, wood and amber. A dark, difficult scent, not for everyone. Masculine and I don’t see it for young people.

  • It literally smells like a black leather jacket. As it develops, bitter tones of dark chocolate emerge. Dark, ultra-masculine and adult, made for winter nights. Strong opening, like a punch to the nose, with very good longevity. It makes a statement and says ‘here I am’. The bottle is original and cool. It will delight leather lovers, but it’s not for me. Don’t buy blindly.

  • Woody, leathery and heavily spiced with a dry anise note. The chocolate is dark, not sweet at all, despite the amber and vanilla notes that usually soften it. Powerful, with character, very wintry and masculine; perhaps a bit rough or ‘tremendist’, but I love it for the cold. Excellent quality, top-notch projection and longevity. It’s not youthful or party-oriented; it has a rough, dry character, more niche than commercial. The marketing hurts it with a bottle and brand that feel a bit pretentious. Ideal for special winter occasions; for the price, the value is impeccable. You must try it; if you like it, buy with confidence.
