Bad Boy Elixir by Carolina Herrera

Don’t trust the base notes here; test it before buying, as tastes are subjective. In my opinion, it’s the best in the line. If you like the DNA of the original Bad Boy, here it is improved with a simple leather that makes it more masculine, high-end, and addictive. I don’t usually like perfumes with dominant leather, but here it was done perfectly: a soft leather that gives it character and smells delicious. Love at first sniff; I was impressed to see they could improve the original DNA and create a masterpiece.

I don’t know much about it, but even without the declared notes, it has all the DNA of the Bad Boy series. It smells like the Extreme but with leather. I’m fascinated by it; it feels gourmand due to those chocolate notes; I also sense vanilla, though I’m not sure if it’s my imagination. What stands out most is: leather, iris, chocolate, woods, and a hint of vanilla. At times it reminds me of Axe Dark-Temptation and Extinto Playboy VIP, but obviously better executed, of higher quality, and more developed. It’s incredible for the night or an intimate date, but it has no problem being worn all year round; although gourmand, it’s not invasive or overly sweet. Excellent fragrance, highly recommended.

The best in the Bad Boy line; I was pleasantly surprised. I’m not a huge fan of the line and didn’t expect much, but I had to eat my words. The opening is a very creamy leather, followed by a spectacular chocolate, all balanced with lavender in the background. There’s also a light incense in the base that I love; it’s not heavy, it’s soft and adds darkness and depth that has me hooked. Cedar is present throughout and is a hit. As it dries down, the Bad Boy DNA appears, which curiously reminds me of ‘Bad Boy Dazzling Garden’ but with leather that is nothing like animalic, more creamy and even edible, with cacao and a subtle incense in the background. It’s not typical for the line, but it’s a hit. It’s complex: elegant and serious at first, but with a youthful touch due to the creaminess of the leather and the sweetness of the chocolate. As it dries down, it takes a more youthful turn. I’d wear it someone aged 18 to 40. Don’t use it in enclosed spaces for long periods; it’s dense and can result in being invasive or annoying if you don’t like this type of perfume. Ideal for a winter walk or going out with friends. Scent: 9.5/10, Longevity: 9.5/10, Sillage: 9.5/10.

First review I’ve written on this platform and really on any platform reviewing a perfume. Since I first smelled this perfume a few months ago, I fell in love. Today I finally managed to buy it, and out of the twenty-odd perfumes I own, I believe it easily enters my top 3; take care, it might not become my favourite as I use it this winter. To those who said it resembles Boss Bottled Absolu, which I also own, please go immediately to an ENT specialist. This is an enveloping leather that embraces the wood and finishes with a slightly sweet base. A delight, it is a perfume with too much class. It is true that it slightly recalls Azzaro Forever Wanted Elixir, but to me that one feels like it has very synthetic leather and lacks the magic that this CH evokes for me. Anyway, an absolute 10/10 for me.

It’s very similar to Boss Bottled Absolu, but with the leather much more worked. The Absolu feels more resinous and deep, and this goes much more alpha. A rich perfume in any case. Leather that is by no means complicated and too pleasant.

The Bad Boy Elixir seems to me a very good perfume, not one of my favourites but it’s very good. Regarding the notes, I think the website is mistaken; I mainly sense leather and chocolate. I don’t smell the cedar. I recommend it between 14 and 30 years old. Delicious but I find it a bit cloying; I give it 8.5/10.

Spectacular scent. I found it in a perfumery looking for something for winter daily office wear; they gave me a sample and I was hooked immediately. I returned soon to try it on skin, and although the saleswoman showed me other options, I was already in love with this bad boy elixir. Smells like leather from start to finish, with a touch of chocolate that makes it very wearable. Projection and longevity are excellent; it lasts for days on clothes. Do not buy blindly: it will attract attention, but it is not for everyone.

As an owner of the Extreme, I say it is the same vibe but with more leather volume. They took the Extreme Party and made it more serious and mature, dominant yet just as exquisite and long-lasting as the Extreme. A delight. Now I have to decide: do I stick with the Extreme, more friendly, or the Elixir, more serious?

Pff, ugly perfume. I read reviews saying how rich it is and yes, it is different, but it goes overboard with that very specific leather, like the one in the Green Parfum. This smells of so much leather that for me and others it smells like rubber. A very strong leather, unbearable for my nose, although perhaps it could serve for the cold.

Stand up, gentlemen, what a wonder! It is the Gucci Guilty Absolute leather on your face. Prominent notes of cacao and hazelnuts, with a smoky touch of toast. Fruits like orange and plum with cinnamon and suede, reminded me of the Million Lucky. In the background, that resemblance to the Parfum, the soft sage and black pepper green note. Nothing strange or piercing, easy to wear. Not sophisticated elegance, but maturity, seriousness and presence. Ideal for small spaces, stays close for many hours.

Yes, it reminds me of the two by Alberto Morillas: GGA and No Limit$, that scruffy leather. I compared them side by side and they are quite similar. It is not a dupe, but the leather accord is the same.

Smells like fuel, smoke and used vehicle leather. The truth is, it is not nice to smell like Shell.

At first, I thought it was just another typical one, but once it dried down, I was speechless. If you’re looking for pure leather, this isn’t your bottle, but if you want an easy-to-wear leather note, you’ve found it. Even though it’s not listed in the notes, it has that amber base that gives it character. I believe it’s one of the best in the entire line.

I bought it despite my prejudices against this Carolina Herrera line. For me, Bad Boy has always been the perfume for kids going to parties, smelling like a candy factory, not to mention the bottle is ugly. But I tried this Elixir and liked it, even though my nose was already saturated. The incredible thing is that when I got home, the scent was still there and I started to love it; it smells mature, with a soft, creamy leather and those elegant woods, so much so that I doubted if I had accidentally sprayed something else. The next day I saw a deal and confirmed it was this one. It’s a great perfume, ideal for leather lovers or for sampling, with a brutal performance of 8 hours and notable projection. It doesn’t smell anything like Le Male Le Parfum or Le Beau, because here the sweetness is minimal, almost non-existent, without vanilla or tropical fruits.

I’ll be brief! It smells like mixing 80% Le Male Parfum with 20% Le Beau Parfum. It smells good, yes, but there are already alternatives with the same olfactory style.
