Descripción

Carolina Herrera's La Bomba is an oriental floral fragrance for women. This creation, launched in 2025, was designed by Christophe Raynaud, Quentin Bisch and Louise Turner. Its olfactory pyramid begins with a top note of pitaya, giving way to a heart of red peony, frangipani and plumaria. The trail closes with base notes of vanilla and patchouli.

  • As another said, I love that not everyone likes it, because we all won’t smell the same. The first time it seemed ‘strange’ to me, it didn’t resemble anything I’d ever smelled. Then I fell in love, spent the whole day smelling my wrist, and now it’s my fragrance; I’m on my second bottle. Good trail, good longevity, and I’ve received many compliments, the typical ‘you smelled like me in the lift’ in the office. A 10 in my book.

  • I don’t understand why there are such different opinions. I detect the dragon fruit at first, but once it dries down, it smells strongly of Divine, which I already own, so I won’t buy it. My boyfriend said it smelled lovely in the shop, but I don’t think it’s going to be breath-taking. It’s not bad, it gets compliments and lasts a long time on the skin. I’d recommend trying it before buying.

  • I think it might appeal to fruit choux lovers and young girls or teenagers. That sweet tropical vibe often proves attractive.

  • Good heavens, what can I say! It’s a bomb for real. It hits you hard when you first spray it, becoming strident and shrill. It lasts an eternity; I washed and the scent still wouldn’t come off entirely, so keep that in mind. It doesn’t smell of dragon fruit; rather, it’s vanilla with patchouli, lots of patchouli and a hint of plumeria floral. It’s not something to buy blindly; try it first. The headache it gave me means I’ll let it macerate until winter. This time CH disappointed me a little.

It’s a bomb in the worst sense. ‘Repugnant’ is an understatement; it’s heavy, unpleasant and impossible to wear. Someone gifted it to me and I didn’t even open it; I’d already smelled it in the shop and found it repulsive. It’s not something to buy blindly.

  • keila.con.ilatina

Literal is a bomb; incredible fixative, lasts a long time and projects quite a bit… But the scent, at least for me, is a total disappointment. I fell for the social media hype and when I saw it, my eyes lit up, and I couldn’t bear it. The smell is cloying, ultra-sweet, one of those that hits you over the head and gave me a terrible headache. To my misfortune, it lasted three days on my skin, even though I bathed and tried to wash the area repeatedly. Definitely, the brand achieved projection and longevity, but since I suffered because of it, I would have wished it would fade faster. I would never buy it and it’s not something to buy blindly.

  • What I admire about C.H. is that their products appeal to everyone, just like with the little shoe, and now I see another flanker legend coming. In my opinion, it’s just another perfume; there are better ones in its style as it’s too synthetic and cloying. But you’ll never convince a Herrera fan to buy other fragrances. If someone gifts it to me, I’ll swap it; if not, I’ll use it with another musk, but I’ll never buy it. And that packaging… glup!

  • At first, it smells like a cherry lollipop – very childish and cloying. Then the vanilla comes through with something tropical, but it still feels like artificial sweetness. It might suit teenagers, but it doesn’t convince me.

  • Valentina24

A colleague tried it on me and made my mouth water; it smells super tropical, like very sweet mango and coconut. I love it, but I’m not sure it would suit my skin.

When I saw the bottle, I told my husband: ‘smell whatever it smells like, I want it’. I went to Liverpool as fast as I could and oh surprise, there were demonstrators spraying it on anyone who would let them; I couldn’t. The opening is a fruity bomb, hyper-sweet and piercing. Sprayed without control, it took away my desire to try it on my skin. I saw reviews everywhere and it wouldn’t leave my mind, so after a considerable time and with so many new launches, I tried again. Testing it calmly and without the pressure of the staff, I could enjoy the scent. The opening is a bomb, living up to its name. I don’t know the scent of dragon fruit; on my nose, it smells of cherry, intense and sweet with a slightly acidic tint. As the intensity fades, the flowers emerge, very fragrant and fresh with vanilla. The first hour is strong, but as time passes, its vanilla-scented flowers are precious. Approximate longevity 6 hours with moderate projection.

  • What a horrible fragrance; I got nauseous trying it. Grotesque; it’s incredible it bears the name Carolina Herrera. It’s a real bomb; your mouth tastes of metal when you spray it, I had to go wash my hands. It’s oxidised red fruits and ochres; that combination of dragon fruit and peony is a nuclear bomb, I don’t know how they came up with it.

  • It smells massively of plumeria; I think I perceive it because I have many in the garden and the scent of the flowers is very subtle, but I can identify it. In the perfume, I only smell May flowers and vanilla. I ordered a tester when I bought my usual perfume for my mum and I’ve been wearing it for three days: at first, it’s a somewhat brash fruit scent, and afterwards, it’s plumeria and vanilla.

  • It’s very rich, long-lasting, super sweet, the best perfume of the year. It’s somewhat similar to Valentino Extradose. It doesn’t resemble Divine; it’s very different. There are many conflicting reviews, but for me, it’s very rich; everyone has their taste. I bought it blind because I love fruity florals and I loved it. It’s not gourmand. I see it for autumn and spring, night or day, any age. A hit by three perfumers. I even think they made it thinking of me: it’s not cherry, it’s dragon fruit with vanilla, the flowers, everything.

  • A fragrance in the current line of sweets. It improves as it dries down. It’s packed with tonka bean and caramel. No surprises. If you like Angel Nova and Fantasy, it might be for you. For me, I prefer perfumes that make me feel good in a more subtle way. Everything has its audience.

  • AlessiaGomez

It’s a 100% fruity fragrance, like a body splash; it lacks a woody base or another note to differentiate itself because it’s super generic. I imagine they’ll save that for the Intense or Elixir version; this smells cheap and common. As it dries down, it’s very similar to Divine, but Divine is much more elegant, complex, and sensual; there’s no comparison. Try it before buying to avoid regret.

  • Maho Shonen

I love it. Sweet and fresh. It has become one of my favourite fragrances because it seems extremely delicate yet long-lasting. It’s a curious experience because it doesn’t have such a solid base and since everything is sweet, floral and creamy, it lacks a neutral base for the rest of the day… but it works, strangely. I think it’s something to risk 100%, to try something unorthodox that at the same time gives you a sensation of sensuality and fragility.

  • I have mixed feelings: the name doesn’t fit, because for me it’s not a bomb, neither in intensity nor in scent. It does have good longevity and undeclared notes, but it smells very floral, vintage style. It constantly reminds me of scents I’ve smelled from the 90s, like Eau d’Issey by Issey Miyaki or Cool Water by Davidoff. It has an aquatic note that makes it last a long time, but gives it an outdated air. The dry-down is pleasant and soft, nothing of a bomb. The bottle looks horrible; I’d keep it hidden in the cupboard so it’s not seen.

  • Lizilla Rojas

It smells massively of cherry and isn’t even listed; rather, it smells of cough syrup. Three perfumers for this. It’s a no. Its dry-down reminded me of Rouge Smoking by TDK, but poorly executed.

  • Tropical and sparkling: the opening is delicious, youthful, and has that shine that hooks you instantly. At first, it smells of dragon fruit and coconut, a fun and fresh blend. Then the flowers emerge, adding softness and brightness. As it dries down, it becomes creamy, with a slightly earthy vanilla touch that prevents it from being cloying. It’s neither super floral nor a sugary dessert; it stays balanced, informal, and perfect for anything. It’s rich, easy to enjoy, and good for gifting, though let’s not say it’s a particularly original scent. Rating: 8/10. The Bomb delivers on freshness and versatility, ideal for anyone seeking something cheerful and tropical without complications.

  • A fruit cocktail that stays exactly that: a cocktail. It’s linear, with no standout notes. I would have loved for it to lean more towards woody notes as it dried down. I detect a coconut, which according to the olfactory pyramid shouldn’t be there. That said, it receives many compliments. I wore it one afternoon and the most repeated question was what perfume it was. If one had to redefine the concept of ‘people pleaser’, this would be the perfect example.

  • What a lovely perfume, it’s not fresh, it’s cheerful but I’m not sure if it’s purely a summer scent. At the opening I didn’t like it the first time, as I detected a marzipan smell (which doesn’t happen to me anymore). Nevertheless, I must say the dry-down is the best part. It smells incredible, it doesn’t seem like any other, and certainly not like any of the ones mentioned. Like it or not, it’s an original aroma, super feminine, with a lot of presence and incredible longevity. It suits both day and night, its trail is excellent and it lingers, you can feel it all the time. The patchouli is placed perfectly here, giving it a more elegant touch and persistence. It easily lasts 12 hours for me, it stays on clothes until washed and on hair too. A gem

  • I didn’t try it myself, but a friend wore it and was literally a metre away at 10 pm and I had to ask what perfume it was because I couldn’t stop smelling it! And she told me it’s the bomb, so I tried it. By 8 am! I surprised her and I was left in shock! In the air (because I didn’t try it on skin) it vibrates like Amber Oud Gold edition, I suppose due to the tropical notes

  • ladyinred1129

Spectacular and different!!! I bought it as soon as it launched, I love it and I wear it almost every day; it makes me feel unique and exclusive. It lasts a long time on my skin.

  • I understand the comparison with Divine, but they are worlds apart. What gives that other one its character is the ‘aquatic’ or marine profile, with that ‘salty’ touch, and the tropical notes (though in Bombshell they are much more accentuated than in Divine). They are both sweet perfumes but not the same. The longevity is the only thing that is truly identical xD👍✨ incredibly long and intense.

  • WineAndRoses

The opening of this perfume is literally a bomb jajaja, which is why the initial blast isn’t my favourite. But the dry-down (1-2 hours later) is very rich! It lasts all day👐🏻. And yes, as people say below, it smells like cherry at the start, a type of sweet syrup and boozy cherry.. Then it settles into something more subtle and wearable, although to be honest, I can immediately tell when someone is wearing this perfume because it leaves a trail. Anyway, the dry-down is wonderful: fruity/tropical with the plumeria flower very present but softened by the vanilla, a real tenderness. I like it but I’m not sure if I would buy it yet as I’m debating with the first hour… 🤔

  • I bought a decant because I saw very divided opinions and I will definitely buy the full size. It is very true that tastes differ, because a rating of 3.48???. The opening is strong, but after a few minutes you feel that fresh and sweet fruity scent. I love it

  • I had heard so much about this perfume and almost bought it blindly. Fortunately, I stopped by the shop to smell it, because from the very first moment I didn’t like it. That said, the longevity is impressive: the next day, straight out of bed, I could still smell it on my skin. The problem is that the scent is simply not for me. Nevertheless, I wanted to give it another chance a few weeks later, thinking my perception might change… but no, it produced exactly the same feeling.

  • I tried it in a department store and it didn’t convince me at first; it sounded very dusty and fake. However, a few minutes later, I loved it; it smells fruity yet elegant, like a dusty and sweet explosion.

  • J`adoreunbonparfum

It didn’t take my fancy; it’s a sweet scent that looks a bit ugly and feels very artificial.

A few days ago I was in a restaurant in my area, a tourist zone. There was a campaign to promote this fragrance that was going down the pavement and even entering restaurants. The girl who approached us was very well trained, as she told us many details. The pitaya note (a fruit from a xerophytic plant, known as ‘Dragon Fruit’) is very popular here in Venezuela (in the island of Margarita, where I live, there are even beers and ice creams made with this fruit), and since Carolina Herrera is Venezuelan, perhaps it’s a tribute to the country or at least an inspiration. I was with my sister and some friends. My sister, who hardly likes sweet fragrances, didn’t like it, but my sister’s friends did like it, although its price in the local market ($220 US) scared them off equally. As to me, as previous reviews have detailed, it has seemed excessively sweet (literally kryptonite for its use in the tropics), but the fragrance itself is very well constructed; the pitaya note gives it a certain ‘originality’, and it will surely have its own place in female taste.

  • It’s not bad, but I don’t know why I can’t stand it. There’s a huge smell of tropical fruit, a very ripe fruit; it must be the pitaya. Clearly, it’s not my style, and I’m not used to CH making this type of perfume. I wouldn’t buy it.

  • Christynilla

A sales assistant let me try it and pff… I didn’t know how to escape that smell impregnated on my wrist. I’d never felt a perfume taste so bad from the very first moment, not even when it was drying better. Horrible to my taste.

  • I admit that after seeing the advert, curiosity got the better of me, and when I tried it it was a genuine letdown. The scent wasn’t what I imagined; in fact, it seemed unpleasant and strange. But on a second try… surprise, I got hooked. I don’t feel it’s a powerful nocturnal and party bomb, nor an energising and fresh daytime or spring perfume. However, in a non-intrusive profile, it does result in being comforting, juicy, dandified, and fruity. It’s a fruitiness that’s almost liqueur-like, bordering on the tropical. As they say, since I don’t know the scent of pitaya, it reminds me of a fresher, more acidic cherry. Wrapped in woods and a bit of vanilla. Super interesting but disconcerting, as I struggle to separate the blend and identify the notes. Literally an intriguing cocktail that, without quite knowing why, has bewitched me! I recommend trying it first as it’s a very particular perfume.

  • IRENANITA

I tried the sample a few days ago and liked it quite a bit. I almost bought it, but I’m glad I waited because suddenly it wore me out. It changed on me and became hyper-cloying to the point that I could smell it on two or three items in my wardrobe and had to wash them to put up with it any longer. Generally, I don’t do well with tropical or candy-type scents (unless they’re well-blended), but this one, literally, I started to not be able to stand it. I’m a fan of many Carolina Herrera fragrances, but this isn’t one of them.

  • I went to the perfumerie, saw it displayed, and out of curiosity I smelled it. I’d read reviews of all kinds and I must say I was let down; I didn’t like it at all. It smelled like shampoo and red berries. So, it’s not for me.

  • Flor d agua

It’s a bombshell, just like its name. Very handsome, not a scent I’ve smelled before but certainly lovely. It reminds me of Divine by JPG, but the bomb is better – more youthful, nothing powdery. Its throw is absolutely gorgeous. I wanted to hesitate more, but it’s a machine for compliments. The first day was quiet, but by the second I filled the office and the corridors; that’s when I understood its name. Do I like it? A lot. Would I buy it again? Yes. For me, it’s fruity, floral, and sweet.

  • I like its scent; yes, I’ve been complimented, although not much. The first hour its trail is strong, then it drops and becomes moderate. On my skin it doesn’t last as long as I’d like since the fruity notes tend to fade quickly. The bottle is beautiful, a bit difficult to apply at first, but once you get the hang of it, you’re good. It opens strong with the pitaya and cherry note; it’s a fresh perfume that leaves a very pretty combination with vanilla as it dries. In the first hour it’s strong, then I feel it on my skin for about two or three hours, after which it becomes very soft. On clothes it lasts longer, however, I don’t feel it has enough potency to last many hours compared to other perfumes.

  • I tried it today and what a revolting throw – it smells like sour cut yogurt. I couldn’t handle it; I don’t know how it develops later, but it was an immediate no.

  • I was given a sample and it smells good if you like sweet things; the sweet tropical pitaya is very noticeable. However, the trail and longevity are poor.
