More than sweet, I find it very wearable and agreeable. It’s a fragrance that generates compliments despite having such an informal and linear vibe.
At first, I accepted it. It has good longevity, with a warm and slightly effeminate coconut aroma. But over time, and with my sensitive nose, I get bored to the point of thinking it’s synthetic. It’s not bad, but it’s not a safe bet either. It has a very particular dry scent.
I wear it and love it. Only those who know it realise it’s a men’s fragrance. I adore the scent; besides, it smells of sandalwood, which is what I like most, even though that note isn’t listed.
I know it because I wear it and because two other friends own it too. It’s a delicious scent that doesn’t bother anyone. Among several excellent fragrances, when I wear it, it feels simple and unadventurous, but when my friends wear it, it smells like chamomile tea, giving it an exclusive touch I don’t notice in others. If you don’t want to complicate things with odd smells, this is what you’re looking for: versatile, fresh, slightly sweet, and non-intrusive. If it weren’t so common in my town, it would be one of my favourites. People compliment it! Projection 6/10, longevity 8/10.
It’s one of my favourites. I’ve always been a fan of Carolina Herrera, and this fragrance made me addicted to perfumery. Timeless; after 12 years, it still has the same spark. On first spray, you smell ginger and spicy pepper that tickles the nose. The blend of leather and alcohol is wonderful. I sense something vanilla-like, even though it’s not listed in the notes. It’s a real hit for going out at night; you stand out. Lasts 8 hours, though I’d wish for a heavier trail.
I’m not a huge fan of Carolina Herrera, but I like this one a bit. The bottle and magnetic cap caught my eye. The 212 VIP Men isn’t original; it smells of things you already know, but it’s very pleasant. Fresh, I think it’s more of a summer than a winter scent. The vodka and gin are very noticeable, like a bottle in a flask. The lime, mint, and spices are very prominent. It’s a cocktail in a flask! The opening isn’t the best, but the dry-down is. It could be from Paco Rabanne; it has its own style.
At a family dinner, my brother wore it and it was incredibly strong. Extremely invasive and brash. I told him to wear it at midday… It’s an old batch.
I bought it from a 2019 batch. The opening is fruity and sweet, then at an hour notes of ginger and liqueurs appear, finishing with wood close to the skin. Rich and complimentary, impossible not to like. It lasts about eight hours, with the last three hours close to the skin. Ideal for fresh days or summer nights; it doesn’t work in intense heat. If it had better projection, it would be a ten.
Very fruity and sweet, ideal for evening wear. Its characteristic passion fruit and pepper scent is delicious and leaves many compliments.
It’s a powerful and rich fragrance, but be warned: if it’s too sweet, it becomes cloying on the neck and becomes irritating. The key is to balance the projection so it doesn’t become invasive. Only then is it a well-made scent. It generates compliments, but use it in moderation and keep it away from the nape of the neck.
My first designer perfume. I’m not a fan of passionfruit, but in this one it doesn’t disgust me, and with the vodka/gin note it makes it delicious. Ideal for winter/autumn and summer nights at 30 degrees because it doesn’t suffocate. Batch 2023. Lasts 6-7 hours on skin, projects well, is noticeable, and my loved ones have liked it. Although it has its years, I’ve loved it and it’s not an overused scent in my city.
It’s a very rich perfume, but personally it fatigues me and even gives me a headache. I loved it in the perfumery and took it home, but wearing it all night isn’t to my taste. Perhaps the trick is not to apply it to the nape of the neck. Longevity and trail are excellent. Be careful not to overapply; better to underdo it the first time. It’s very youthful, party and club in a bottle, but not for corporate dinners, rather for university parties. If I had to define its joviality, it sits in the same basket as One Million (though they are different scents). It’s hard for me to imagine it on anyone over 25-28, although I have classic tastes.
The 212 VIP was one of the first fragrances I bought when I started this hobby, and to this day, among almost 200 perfumes, it still stands out for its unique and characteristic scent. I recently bought it again with a little hesitation regarding reformulations, fearing the good memory would turn into disappointment. However, happily, I can say its scent and longevity are exactly as I remember. In my taste, it’s one of the best by Carolina Herrera.
Informal, boozy, fruity, and with a constant presence. A very good option for night outings in non-extreme climates. I sense a peppery and refreshing aura that might bother some, especially if applied to the neck. Overall, it’s very good, somewhat evocative and coquettish. Above average in longevity and projection; I don’t own it, but I’ve smelled it on friends and family over the last few years.
Rich aroma… it opens with a fruity and aromatic sweetness, without being cloying. The alcohol note gives it a party and nocturnal vibe, although it also suits mild or cold days. The longevity could be better, but overall it works well. A good perfume, reliable, and unlikely to offend anyone. Recommended, don’t miss out on having it.
Hello, greetings… the 212 VIP Men is a great fragrance; the passionfruit and vodka scent is incredible. It’s a boozy blend that gives elegance and freshness; at a party, they might mistake you for the drink on the bar.
I’ll be totally honest with this jewel: it’s a nocturnal, seductive, and intoxicating fragrance, a blend of freshness, spices, and an timeless sweetness. Its performance is more than decent and it’s utterly sexy.
It’s one of my favourites; I have a special affection for it. I remember wearing it for the first time in 2013 to go to work and see how people reacted. I was walking along when a colleague asked what perfume I was wearing because he could smell it from a distance and was fascinated. I told him it was the CV VIP, and everyone praised me that day, especially the women. You can detect the vodka, pepper, and spices, but as it dries down, it smells of sweet vanilla despite not being listed. Many say it’s for the evening, but it works perfectly during the day too; wear it whenever you like.
It has a pleasant boozy touch and is one of my most purchased and used perfumes, ideal for cold weather.
I bought this after trying Zara Intense Dark Exclusive, which I loved and everyone said was its clone. And indeed, it is: in the first hour, the Zara is more potent, but this lasts longer. At first, it smells of alcohol and passionfruit, like a shot, before settling into a sweet base, reminiscent of leather and makeup (even though it doesn’t list iris). What’s curious is that I don’t notice it much myself, but others do and praise it. It’s versatile; the Carolina Herrera website says it’s for daytime, but I wear it to work, dinner, or birthdays. It’s not a club scent because it’s soft; if you want to go out partying, go for the 212 VIP Black instead.
I loved the fragrance; it seems like a delicious, sweet, and alcoholic aroma. But I got to know it because I ordered the wrong one 🙁
It needs more than one spray to really hit, but it smells REAL GOOD; with enough applications, it lingers all day. It’s designed for parties, but it’s a scent I’d use as a signature (under certain conditions). The only thing that made me hesitate was the strong alcohol hit at the start; I expected a single spray to be overwhelming, but it’s not a beast, it’s exquisite and projects well. It starts with sweet, fresh, citrusy, and fruity vodka (passion fruit and lemon), with an elegant ginger kick that blends perfectly. The pepper stings the nose along with the alcohol at the start (in a good way), but it passes quickly, leaving a creamy, spiced, sweet, and earthy sensation. Then comes the ‘hangover’: sweet, dark, creamy, woody, like bitter chocolate with a hint of vodka. It leaves you with a delicious headache craving a repeat. Although it’s nocturnal and party-oriented, I don’t look down on it; it gives pleasant outing vibes, cloudy, fresh, temperate, suitable for day or night. Versatile for fresh or cold environments without invasive sun. I can’t see myself wearing it during summer days, but in spring or at sunset with solitary fresh sunshine, or in a wooded area, it’s ideal. Rich, it doesn’t overwhelm like One Million, but avoid enclosed spaces and don’t abuse the sprayer. I wouldn’t wear it in full summer, but in spring or on cool nights it’s perfect.
It’s good, especially for night outings. I’ve received many compliments, particularly from women.
What a boring perfume, nothing like what I expected, but it reminded me of Hugo Boss Bottled: sweet and simple.
Versatile for almost any use, nostalgic. I love it for almost any occasion, except for very few specific situations or climates.
I bought it for my husband years ago and stopped using it myself (he only wore it for going out). It’s a fresh, clean yet spiced aroma, ideal for men between 25 and 40. It has an eternal longevity, worthy of Carolina Herrera; it depends on pH, but in his case it lasts days on the skin 😅. It’s not an original scent, but it’s too pleasant to ignore.
I LOVE IT! It will always be a classic that must be in my collection. It’s versatile, alcoholic, fresh, and perfect for going out at night. 10/10.
Spectacular. An exquisite combination of passion fruit, vodka, and mint at the start; it smells like a Moscow Mule with plenty of personality. Although people say it’s for cold weather, I wore it at 22°C and it was barely noticeable, but when I went into a warmer place (30°C), the sweet, alcoholic citrus notes exploded with force. I’m surprised everyone says it’s for winter. Scent: 8.5/10, Trail: 7/10, Longevity: 8/10 (7 hours on skin). I bought the 200ml version for $140; it’s pricey, but worth it for a collection or going out, for that freshness I adore.
It’s a delicious fragrance, although in my environment it feels like the quintessential clone alongside One Million; it’s the default masculine scent everyone wears. But if you ignore that, its performance and sweet, seductive, masculine aroma are impeccable, making it undoubtedly one of the best male fragrances in recent years.
Ideal for going out partying. The projection is strong (at least in my 2012 batch) and the scent hits immediately, which is its intention. What stands out is that acidic fruit with ginger, balanced by a well-executed pepper note that lingers, eventually wrapping around the vodka note (which can be a bit dizzying). Here it loses some fluidity, but the amber and leather last days on clothes. I give it: 8.0 for scent, 8.5 for projection, 7.0 for trail, 9.0 for longevity. A good perfume for clubbing, but be careful spraying near the face or you’ll get immediate whiffs. Masculine character, average price, and easy to find.
I bought it a little over a month ago, a rich perfume, very good opening but poor longevity and sillage. The lime and passion fruit notes are very present; a perfume for warm climates. If you fancy buying it, I recommend a cheaper option: Ibiza 24/7, same scent, same longevity, and it’s by Puig.
It’s a One Million that is less bitter, fresher, and more youthful. I like that, unlike the One Million, I can wear it on hot days without losing that classic DNA we love.
To start, it’s versatile but not for the cold. Many people think it is because of the alcoholic beverage notes, but that’s not the case. It’s totally daytime, special for the heat. I compare it to the cylindrical 212 of the same colour to make it clear: 212 NYC is citrusy but dies into a linear citrus with a powder that enhances it, sparkling. This 212 VIP NYC is fresh citrus and herbal, but as it dries it changes to the sweet, like a vetiver used in the CH line and a passion fruit that stands out. It’s not suitable for the cold; being fresh, it’s not advisable. Look for something with warmth like vanilla, chocolate, whisky, and tobacco if you want winter. This has vodka, but it’s frozen vodka with ginger (refreshing), mint, lemon, frozen caviar, and frozen gin; everything is frozen, it can’t be fresher. The leather only gives body but is imperceptible. For me, it doesn’t have it. Other 212 VIPs are heavy and sweet for winter, but this is different: a totally summer fragrance, nothing to do with the cold.
Hello, gentlemen. I had this perfume in 2012 at the age of 13; it was a gift from my mother. What a wonderful perfume! It was like a passion fruit sweet: dense, creamy, powerful but not overwhelming. Very pleasant with guaranteed compliments. They say it was reformulated, so this review is for my 2012 batch. It had beastly longevity of 8 hours with excellent projection for the first 2. It made me feel at 100% energy with an irresistible flirty aura. Today I’m 27 and I plan to buy a current batch; I keep it close to my heart. On me: 8h longevity, 2h projection, 3h bubble, 3h trail, 2m (2h) sillage. Recommendation: signature scent, dates, office, clubs, meetings. Not recommended: sporty, formal events. Age: 20 years and up. Use few sprays in the office. 8/10, flirty, party-ready, and versatile.
I tried it and it’s party-ready, tasting of lemon, passion fruit, and a vodka note, ideal for parties or formal events.
In my opinion, it’s a perfume that is very popular, smells good, and is versatile. I wore it as a signature scent in the office and received compliments. It’s a blind buy that is definitely well-executed. Without a doubt, it should be in your collection.
I like the opening and the dry-down. It starts like a shot of fresh passion fruit, with that present vodka-alcoholic accord, and as it dries, it settles into a soft, light sweetness that smells super clean while retaining nuances of the opening. I see it for fresh/cold environments and enclosed spaces because it feels so soft. I like that nobody uses it these days, so there’s an option to stand out without losing charm or going too over-the-top.
A real bargain, a perfume with personality that, while youthful, is also mature at the same time. It clashes with my usual style, which tends towards fresh, woody, and mature scents, but it’s my first choice for night outs and parties: playful, masculine, and attractive without losing that mature air. It’s not a 10/10 because longevity is good but not perfect; it lasts 2-3 hours on clothes and up to 8 on skin, though already faded. Recommended 100%.
For clubs, bars, and parties. One of my perfumes that gets the most compliments from women.
I used to wear this in school when it first launched, and today, coincidentally spotting it in the perfumeries, I gave it a try… what a gem! It’s one of the few from that era (alongside One Million, Invictus, and the Diesel bottle…) to have aged perfectly. Reformulated or diluted? Absolutely 100%. Either my sense of smell has changed and it feels a bit lighter, or it’s just top-tier quality. The listed notes are unusual, but the scent is unique. Very youthful, ideal for casual occasions: going out for a drink, heading to class, the office… perhaps a date if you’re under 30, but not for weddings. I wore it at 15/16, but I see it fits perfectly at 30 without any issues. It’s unique, smells great, and doesn’t resemble the 100 current gimmicks. It’s not excessively expensive; the bottle is a bit of a pain (very large) but looks great on the shelf. You can wear it all year round; it’s not one of those that you avoid in summer because otherwise, even your grandmother won’t approach. I recommend trying it because it goes unnoticed while being a bomb for young people without an outrageous budget.
