I’ve read forum reviews: few in Spain or among Anglophones appreciate it; the French understand it best, Italians find no utility, and in Russia it’s highly polarised. Many detect a sweat smell and judge it as being for older women or destitute men, which I think is unfair; as a Russian reviewer put it, it can smell like the sweat of a healthy person, nothing more. Night stems from fragrances where the creator indulges in vices, here sex or the sexuality of British nightlife: one-night stands between people meeting in bars or clubs. Mr Cresp explains it’s not for the 99% of buyers, but for the remaining 1%, and he’s achieved it. It opens with a non-culinary cumin note, nuanced by a mildly spicy saffron that adds practical, subliminal depth. It may recall sweat, but not from poor hygiene, rather from someone whose deodorisation has worn off; it’s clean sweat. The development features a well-executed rose, not overbearing, with a distant cushion of oud that elevates the whole to a ‘perfumed humanity’. In a Western world that is aseptic and contradictory, this fragrance succeeds in targeting that 1% as a personal alternative. I celebrate that it has no place outside private space. Although life is lived once, with such projection and longevity, if you like it, use it there and when you want, for there will always be those who criticise for being what it is. I ordered a bottle to use with pleasure and respect, as with any other fragrance. Recommended to try it to define personal boundaries.

Night represents carnal vice and sex, and I believe it is the best perfume of this brand. It has all been said, more or less briefly and in a humorous way, but I imagine the perfumer’s skill in making it smell like ‘something’ that transports us or makes us think ‘this really smells like sex’. It is one of the fragrances I’ve shown most to friends and enthusiastic acquaintances, and 100% agree it really takes you ‘there’. Analytically, it is a blend of a clean musk-like part with a very dirty cumin and rose, creating a sensation of a closed room post-coitus plus the body odour of the aftermath. In practice, it is frankly unusable, and if there is common sense not to disturb others, it should not be worn. Nevertheless, it is totally worth the experience of trying it. Rating: 2/10 in wear, 10/10 in art, unique in its kind.

On first impression, it smells similar to the opening of Carolina Herrera’s 212 Sexy Men. However, my personal take is that it resembles the armpit of a woman wearing Rosita roll-on deodorant after a hot day—that was the mental image it conjured up.

Literally smells like sex; it’s an excellent representation. The only problem is finding the right moment to wear it.

For those of us living in hot and humid climates, this is like stepping out of the shower with the air conditioning broken and no fan running. It smells of sweat and humidity, but the rose note makes the olfactory system tolerate it better. I think the recreation of a perfumed, sweaty body with roses is very explicit. It’s good for experiencing the scent, but I wouldn’t wear it.

First, let’s calm down; yes, this smells of body odour. In my opinion, with the perfume on a blotting paper and on my arm, it smells like a female armpit just when the deodorant has stopped working, or like having a woman’s underwear almost touching your face before intimacy. This is relative: depending on how you catch it and at what moment, it can bring good sensations, wonderful memories, excite you, or seem disgusting. Less wearable than a badger in a scarf, but dirty it doesn’t smell, simply like intimate parts perfumed? Update: days have passed and now I seriously consider buying the 30ml version; I’ve loved the finish.

I bought a decant and what can I say about this fragrance: it smells quite similar to Francesca Bianchi’s Lovers Tale. It is supposed to evoke the carnal odour of intimate relations; I detect quite a bit of that cumin that gives it a scent of non-dirty bodily fluids, a touch of rose, and on my nose like cinnamon (which could be the saffron). My wife didn’t like it much as she says it smells like sweaty pantyhose, haha. Strange odour but good for the olfactory experience.
