I adore the STORA SKUGGAN brand, but this isn’t one of my favourites. What really catches my eye is the licorice note, which I absolutely love in perfumery, though there’s not much else to it. It doesn’t disgust me, although there are other licorice-based options that work better at this price point. Once the licorice fades, the dry down is a well-executed woody floral green, safe and reliable. Performance is moderate, lasting just over six hours, with projection that stays very close to the skin, except for that initial burst of licorice which I do appreciate. If it stayed like that, it would be another success. I know many people didn’t take to Azalai, but it captivated me, and I expected more from that line. I’m a huge fan of Thumbsucker and Mist Pouff… In short, I liked it, simply not as enamoured as I was with some of their other creations.
