Descripción

Insomnia by Faviol Seferi is an oriental woody fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by Sezer Sabah and Svetoslav Rusev. The top notes unfold with chocolate, rum, and caramel; the heart reveals coffee and ylang-ylang; while the base notes settle on Tahitian vanilla, sandalwood, patchouli, and cedar.

  • Undoubtedly an affordable niche that does not disappoint. The opening is balsamic thanks to the rum, which makes it slightly alcoholic, but it quickly turns into an intense coffee with one of the best chocolates I have ever tasted in perfumery. It is a delight for the senses: it transports me to a café at night in Paris, with a delicious rum coffee and an ounce of chocolate to sweeten that potent and energising flavour that surely won’t let you sleep. Brilliant creation by Faviol Seferi, who will surely delight us again with another surprising fragrance soon.

A perfume enthusiast is multifaceted: sometimes an archaeologist hunting for vintages, sometimes ecstatic over a scent, and sometimes an explorer. Here is Insomnia. The presentation leaves me in doubt: packaging reminiscent of an economy version of Black Afgano, with a security seal that I nearly destroyed to open, and a slightly cheap bottle. But the spray works well and precisely. I close my eyes and spray four times on my wrists and neck. Magic! Faviol Seferi prioritises substance over appearance. He has created a complete, full-bodied night perfume that conveys innocence and lust, sin and incense, light and darkness. It is the key to a world where anything is possible. The quality is noticeable after hours of wear. I don’t know if it’s identical to Black Phantom (which I haven’t tried), but the olfactory emotion is incredible and unusual. It is the right scent if you want the notes to affect the imagination and stimulate sensuality. Warm and sensual, a journey to an odour kaleidoscope, rich, opulent, and velvety, like the Arabian Nights. The perfect complement for two lovers under the moon, bewitched by woods that blend with rum, coffee, and caramel. Or for the modern playboy who wants to seduce with class, with the glamour of dark coffee and subtle rum united with the earthiness of patchouli and a soul of chocolate and caramel. A creation that has impressed me and does not disappoint in terms of performance or longevity. A niche aroma within everyone’s reach. Excellent work by Mr Seferi.

  • Essentially, it’s a variation of By Kilian’s Black Phantom: less alcoholic, more floral and woody, but it ends up in the same place. I’d say it’s 80% similar. Hats off to the brand: they’ve produced a Black Phantom that, in my opinion, is better, with no performance flaws, at a third of the original price. Natural notes of good quality. It’s well worth it if you enjoy these kinds of scents. Best regards.

  • A perfectly intoxicating fragrance for night dates. Seductive and addictive, it lingers on the skin for hours. It opens with an alcoholic punch of sweet rum that softens quickly, leaving bitter chocolate, caramel, and coffee. A hint of spices is noticeable. Totally unisex, mature, and warm gourmand. It projects strongly for a couple of hours and then stays close to the skin indefinitely, highlighting the caramel and a dark vanilla. I’m not sure if it’s identical to Black Phantom, but I loved it and it’s staying in my collection. Scent 9/10, longevity 9/10, sillage 8/10, value for money 7.5/10, versatility 6/10, packaging 10/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.

An enigmatic perfume. The packaging is a disaster: flimsy cardboard, a tab you have to tear off, and very cheap padding. But the bottle is another story: elegant, artistic, with a dark liquid like red wine. The fragrance is linear, with no sudden changes. Top quality. It projects strongly, sweet, dark, and alcoholic, almost gourmand. Notes of rum, caramel, and chocolate. I detect a worn, stale, and sexy leather that isn’t in the official notes, which blends brilliantly with the sweetness. Then comes the woody, spiced, and powdery base, with coffee, vanilla, and an amber touch (perhaps cedar) that persists until the end. Good performance: two hours of projection and then up to eight hours on the skin. Unisex, but leans masculine. A dense, characterful, sweet, and rough aroma. For those over 25/30. Ideal for sport, elegant, or casual wear. More for night than day. It won’t leave you indifferent.

I love it, a gourmand fragrance par excellence. The resemblance to Kilian’s Black Phantom is enormous. It’s one of the best for wearing on autumn and winter nights.

I haven’t tried the acclaimed Black Phantom by Kilian, and thanks to a friend’s generosity, I’ve tried Insomnia (in decant format). To be honest, I’ve written this with all my inexperience and lack of knowledge about perfumery, but for me, Insomnia is an alcoholically devastating hit of rum, rum and more rum… to which, on my skin at least, a little dark chocolate and a little coffee are added. My nose detects nothing else. At least in my case, the rum note remains. I wouldn’t buy it. I’m definitely on a different wavelength.

An enigmatic, dark, and seductive perfume, totally unisex with a slight masculine leaning. On my skin, it begins with rum, chocolate, and coffee, causing immediate well-being and addiction. After a few minutes, I notice the creaminess of slightly vanillaised sandalwood, sweetened by caramel, without taking away from the three initial notes. Finally, I perceive woody and patchouli notes. The liquid is so dark it could stain clothes. The sillage is wide and the longevity is over eight hours on the skin and more than twelve on clothing. I definitely do not recommend buying it blindly as it is a peculiar scent; I don’t think it’s similar to Kilian’s Black Phantom, which I perceive as more gourmand. Without a doubt, it is a wonderful perfume that asks for cold weather and nights. A beauty!

  • It’s an enigmatic, dark and seductive perfume, completely unisex with a slight masculine edge. On my skin, it opens with rum, chocolate and coffee, giving me immediate comfort and even addiction. As the minutes pass, I notice the creaminess of the slightly vanilla and caramel-sweetened sandalwood, without overshadowing the initial three notes. Finally, I detect woody notes and patchouli. It’s a perfume with such a dark liquid it can stain clothes; the sillage is wide and longevity is over 8 hours on skin and more than 12 on fabric. I definitely don’t recommend buying it blindly as it’s a peculiar scent and doesn’t seem similar to Killian’s Black Phantom, which I perceive as more gourmand. Without a doubt, it’s a wonderful perfume that begs to be worn in cold weather and at night. Simply stunning!

  • I don’t know where to start, what a beautiful perfume. For those who haven’t tried Black Phantom, let me tell you it smells to me like peanut butter with lots of caramel. For those who know Black Phantom, it’s exactly the same but with much more sillage and longevity. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have bought Black Phantom.

Barely out: I smell the coffee, caramel, rum, chocolate, and vanilla. I like it but it doesn’t kill me 😁🤣🤣🤣. I feel I don’t need it in my life; it’s a dark, intense, very sweet gourmand scent. I see it as unisex; sometimes I feel I’m having a coffee ☕ accompanied by strong, potent rum 😁😁. Longevity: it lasts really well, about 10 hours or so. It’s very noticeable when you walk past; if you like coffee ☕ you’ll probably like it. 📍Test well on skin before buying 📍It’s not a scent for everyone. It didn’t click with me 😔😢. It lacks a touch more elegance and attraction to make me fall in love. I’m sorry 😢❌❌😶. I recommend it for autumn and winter. Scent 9/10 Longevity 10/10 Sillage 10/10 Versatility 6/10 Value 9/10 Packaging 8/10 Would I buy it? NO 👎🙁

Indeed, very similar to Black Phantom, slightly sweeter, and it lasts longer, plus the price is more affordable. What I dislike is that it leaves a good black stain on clothes and even stains the skin, as if you’d taken a blow. On the other hand, I think it will last longer since Black Phantom needs to be reapplied constantly; given the price, Insomnia is better.

  • This is madness. I still doubt that breaking this bottle won’t make a CLOC! like those thick bars of pure chocolate. It’s a praliné bomb. Chocolate, coffee, spices… If it were a chocolate bar, it would be Nestlé’s golden goose; neither Mars nor Snickers could compete with this flavour. Its addictiveness is only surpassed by its longevity. Weeks on blotting paper and it smells better each time. It’s 100% unisex, and women love it immensely. (Which woman doesn’t love bonbons?) I don’t consider it an elegant perfume because smelling of edible delicacies isn’t elegant for me. I don’t consider it seductive for the same reason (in this regard, Noir Extreme would be better). What’s missing for me? That touch of sophistication found in perfumes like Noir Extreme or Orom. But one doesn’t always want to smell sophisticated or elegant. Or do they?

  • The scent seems better than Black Phantom, with more chocolate, rum, and woods, and less coffee. However, unlike the reviews I’ve read, personally I find it projects less and lasts shorter than Black Phantom, referring to current batches. I apply five sprays and it projects arm’s length distance for half an hour before settling close to the skin; in the cold it’s almost imperceptible. I should mention my batch is from 2020 and supposedly expired in December 2023, but in other cases time has given it more potency.

  • Mitafragance

It’s almost a magical scent: a dark, mysterious gourmand that works perfectly without being obvious. Given it’s an extrait and the packaging is beautiful, the price seems hard to believe. Early 2026 it’s sold on the official Spanish website for €69; I’m not sure if that’s the final joke from this bottled spell. A little gem.
