It’s a rather pleasant fragrance where I primarily detect vanilla and spices.
Tobacco, honey, tonka and a powdery skin note dominate; I don’t detect cherry, vanilla, citrus or incense, perhaps a hint of almond. It smells like high-quality blonde rum soaked in honey. Longevity is moderate and projection is weak. I like it, but given the promised notes, I expected something different.
I own Kilian’s Back to Black and Emir WSGH is remarkably similar, almost a clone once dried down. It’s a blend of honey, cherry, tobacco and vanilla: dark, elegant and best reserved for winter dates or formal events. If you’re not a fan of the brand or a collector, go for the €30 option rather than the €275 one; the olfactory quality is comparable, though Kilian wins on longevity, projection and sillage.
