  A fragrance competing with Antonio Banderas’s offerings; both houses have become so popular they are now common, particularly among young people (which I don’t mind, at least they care about wearing perfume). I had heard of it before realising what it was. A pleasant aroma with a pronounced tonka bean note, followed by vetiver and florals. Good skin fixation, with low to moderate sillage typical of today’s perfumes. Lasting power is better than many recent releases. Targeted at men aged 18 to around 38-40.

I’d already heard of it without realising it was this one. A pleasant aroma, with a pronounced tonka bean note, followed by vetiver and florals. Good fixation on the skin. Sillage is low to moderate, typical of today’s market. Longevity is better than many recent releases. Targeted at men aged 18 to around 40.

  A unique, sweet and soft scent. At first, there’s a burst of nocturnal floral notes that fade quickly, leaving only the sweet trail. I wore it at 16 or 17 when it was affordable; now it costs 60-70€ and is hard to find, yet I keep buying it for the memories triggered by spraying it. I recommend it for daily wear and good weather, even on summer evenings.

I wore it at 16 or 17 when it was affordable; now it costs 60-70€ and is hard to find, yet I keep repurchasing it for the memories triggered by the spray. Recommended for everyday wear and good weather, even on summer evenings.

  I’m a huge fan of Beckham’s Intimately, but this flanker feels underwhelming. It smells a bit cheap, honestly. Intimately Night has nothing to do with the original, which is delicate, spiced, powdery and charming; this is cloyingly sweet, crude and reminiscent of scents you’d find in any tacky shop. An avoindry note dominates, paired with ill-defined florals. There’s an undeclared coconut note (perhaps tonka bean) that adds creaminess but can be irritating at times. It’s rough, sits in no-man’s-land and loses the sexy mystery of the original. A disappointment; the hype worked against it. The good bits: better projection and longevity than the original. I like the dry-down, but it remains grating and unbalanced, just a half-hearted attempt.
