  • L’Ambre is a classic, resinous and balsamic amber, with a modern blend that works in a monolithic and very convincing way. It centres on an opulent and rich amber, with liquorish nuances, a soft floral touch and a powerful woody base that gives a warm skin sensation thanks to the labdanum. As it dries, it evolves into a talc-like musk, light as a cloud moved by the wind. It has excellent longevity and quality, with moderate projection. It is very good if you like amber, but in my opinion, being so monolithic, it starts to get a bit boring over time; I would have liked more evolution. Rating: 8

  • L’Ambre is a classic, resinous and balsamic amber. Its modern conception results in a monolithic but very convincing scent, especially if you appreciate amber. It builds an opulent and rich aroma, with liquorish nuances, a soft floral touch and a powerful woody base that creates a leathery feel thanks to the tea, jasmine, woods and the labdanum which adds skin warmth. The dry-down finishes on a talc-like musk, light and fluid like a cloud in the wind. It has great quality and longevity, with moderate projection. It is very good if you know how to appreciate amber, although in my taste its monolithic character can get boring over time; a bit more evolution would have improved the blend. Note: 8

  • It is the favourite amber of my collection, above masterpieces like Ambra Aurea or Ambré Sultan. What distinguishes it is the osmanthus, a precious note becoming increasingly common. It is a sweet but not excessive amber, rather dark due to the broom/labdanum, without being too much and very balanced, something difficult to achieve when uniting the sweet-and-sour of the osmanthus with the rest. Yes, it is monolithic as @gelo999 says, but when I like a scent, I do not mind smelling it for hours; in fact, I want it not to leave my skin. This LADC is beautiful, little known (I only see one review) and a piece to discover. It was another blind buy and, over time, one gets better at guessing. It was a hit on my list and a pleasant surprise. I see it as unisex, leaning masculine, though it goes perfectly on women. For me, it is for autumn, winter and especially spring; I have never tried it in summer, perhaps it would not clash on a cool night. It is not intrusive, but not for the office; it is more nocturnal than diurnal due to its seductive character and requires dressing well, as this Isabey is very elegant, though without the need for a tie. Longevity between 8 and 10 hours; projection drops over time, but the first 2-3 hours are noticeable at a metre. Then it stays more on the skin, obliging you to get closer to feel it. I recommend trying it before buying, because it is an amber different from any other.

  • My favourite amber, surpassing great classics like Ambra Aurea or Ambré Sultan. What makes it unique is that osmanthus, increasingly rare to find, giving it a sweet yet dark touch thanks to the broom and labdanum; everything is very well balanced. It is true that it smells the same from the first minute, as @gelo999 says, but I love that it stays on the skin for hours without moving. It is a little-known jewel worth discovering. I find it unisex, though with a stronger masculine hook, and I wear it in autumn, winter, and especially spring. It is not for the office; it is nocturnal and seductive, so it goes well with elegant clothes but without a tie. It lasts between 8 and 10 hours; initially, it is noticeable at a metre, then it sticks to the skin and you have to get closer to smell it. Try it before buying, it is a distinct amber.
