Descripción

Scent by CoSTUME NATIONAL is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2002, this composition was created by Laurent Bruyère. The top notes combine bergamot, cardamom and green tea; the heart reveals a blend of rose, sambac jasmine and hibiscus; while the base notes settle on ambergris, vanilla, leather, sandalwood and patchouli.

Firstly: the difference from its sister, the Intense, is minimal. I have the testers for both in hand and am testing them right now. I imagine a sensual, glamorous executive, in heels, a short skirt, and thick-rimmed glasses, sitting with crossed legs, pretending to seduce the boss or client. It is refined, elegant, and fresh, for the woman who does not stay locked in the office but moves between worlds. What a heavenly combination of cayenne, jasmine, and tea!

Total coincidence: these days I’ve only been drinking real green spice tea upon waking, and, zap! It smells and tastes identical to the opening of this fragrance. That green note, somewhere between sweet and bitter, almost smoky, is comforting and awakening. Then the amber and flowers take over, creating a warm yet fresh, super-sensual scent. I absolutely love my CNs; they’re ten out of ten! I’ve come out well with my blind buys, something I don’t usually do. The dry-down reminds me of Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDT: fresher and lighter than the Intense version, ideal for daytime to feel divine. The Intense has more longevity and sillage, but here the tea and jasmine are the stars. I’ll keep buying it, it suits any weather.

Perfect match: these days I only drink real green tea from the spice shop upon waking, and—bam!—it smells and tastes identical to the opening of this fragrance.
