  • Wonderful perfume, sweet and fruity. I tested it on my wrist and it smelled of mangoes with cream, a hint of gardenia or fragrant flower and slightly green. Another one I tested thanks to the Cnidaria giveaway, and thanks to her I can review it. I have the same rule with perfumes as with books: if I like them the first time, I’ll like them forever… although there are some like A Men that I only liked when my taste matured. A wonderful perfume, I think it’s the most wearable from Thierry Mugler and one of the most commercial or to the general public’s liking. I don’t smell the praline, but I do smell the amber, which leaves its sweet caress like jam at the end, when the fruits have already given their soul. Innocent is cheeky and young, far from chaste, but not sexual either; it’s cheerful and feminine, for someone relaxed but with a strong personality, for sunny mild days. A bit sweeter than the old In Love Again from YSL, but fruity and floral to the same extent. Medium to strong trail and good longevity.

  • A wonderful perfume, sweet and fruity. On my skin, it smells like mango with cream, a hint of gardenia, and something green. I tried it thanks to the Cnidaria giveaway, which allowed me to share my thoughts. I have the same rule with perfumes as with books: if I like it the first time, I’ll love it forever… although there are exceptions like A Men, which I only came to adore once my taste matured. I think it’s the most wearable of Mugler’s creations and one of the most commercial, meaning it appeals to the general public. I don’t detect the praline, but I do sense the amber, which leaves a sweet, jam-like caress at the end when the fruits have given up their essence. Inocent is mischievous and youthful, far from chaste or overtly sexual; rather, it’s jovial and feminine, suited to someone relaxed yet strong-willed, ideal for mild, sunny days. It’s a little sweeter than the original In Love Again by YSL, but equally fruity and floral. The trail is medium-strength and the longevity is good.

Ugh, this perfume is extremely sweet for my taste. I liked it at first and bought it, but I must admit my mistake was testing it on blotter paper instead of on my skin. The opening is good, but it immediately turns into pure sugar. I definitely don’t like it; I have a full bottle and wouldn’t buy it again. Besides, it’s exclusively for cold weather; I wouldn’t wear it in the morning or at work; it would drive all my colleagues to a diabetic attack.

  • I owned it once and enjoyed it like a treat. It’s more of a perfume for me than for others. Serene, tender and friendly. Between gourmand and celestial. It slipped away between two summers. A bit fleeting, but I’d keep it close again. How not to desire an innocent angel!

Innocent is the easiest Mugler to wear. Absolutely fruity, slightly sweet (I barely smell the praline); on my skin, the citrus and fruits dominate. It opens totally citrusy, and after five minutes, the blackcurrants with red berries appear. After an hour, a shy praline with a lovely resin. It’s not the younger sister of Angel; they are two distinct fragrances. Innocent is carefree, cheerful, fresh with sparks of sweetness, ideal for girls who want to start in gourmand scents.

  • Gaby Pedroza

It opens with energising citrus; you almost taste sweet and sour tangerines accompanied by red berries. After a few minutes, the acidity gives way to a soapy sweetness that honours its name. It’s sweet but not overwhelming, giving a sense of cleanliness and serving for everyday wear. Of all the Mugler scents I know, this is the easiest to wear: it doesn’t overwhelm or invade. Its trail and longevity have that distinctive brand seal.

  • Innocent is innocent, full stop. Just because it’s innocent doesn’t mean it’s simple or has poor sillage. The opening is citrusy without being overpowering; initially, you’d expect a punch because it’s Mugler, but here the name delivers. It’s gorgeous, anyone can wear it without complications. A little sweet, but nothing like the praline or red berries one might expect. It’s so well-blended that the almond and musky touch balance everything from the start, leaving it tender, slightly sweet but with lots of vitality. Without patchouli and with little amber, it gains that innocence we don’t expect from this house. It’s a good daily candidate: cheerful, modern and with personality. It has good longevity, although its trail is smaller than other Mugler scents.

  • Innocent is bold: it projects strongly with bergamot that softens slightly with tangerine. Then the blackcurrants with caramelised almond take centre stage and last until the end. You could say it’s the niece of Angel; they share the same DNA, but here the fruity note stands out more, whereas Angel is heavier on chocolate and patchouli. Innocent is an exquisite treat. Mugler closed that decade by offering something intriguing, just as they did six years ago with Angel. For lovers of gourmand-fruity scents, it’s a great option. It’s quite sweet, but not cloying. Longevity is excellent. I have the 2004 version.

  • It’s complicated for me. I get saturated quickly with strong perfumes. I love this one, but I only wear it on very cold days and if I’m not close to people, because I’m afraid of being annoying. When I do decide to wear it, I apply a very small amount and never on my neck, because even I get dizzy. It’s a complicated relationship: I like it, but at the same time, it overwhelms me.

  • The original Angel doesn’t work for me, but Innocent is pure delight. That harsh patchouli is forgotten, and it’s super wearable. I thought it would be sweeter, like Vie et Belle, but I’m surprised: on my skin, it’s a soft, sweet base with citrus (orange and lemon) that explode at the start. I like that original blend of citrus with fruity warmth and amber. It just lacks a bit of longevity, which feels a little low, but it’s ideal for warm climates. It feels original, tender, versatile and comfortable.

  • Since I don’t like the original Angel, I absolutely adore Inocent. It lacks that harsh patchouli note and is incredibly wearable. I thought it would be much sweeter, à la Vie et Belle, but I was pleasantly surprised: on my skin, it leaves a soft, sweet base scent, while the orange and lemon notes dominate at first. I love this citrus originality combined with the warmth of sweet fruity notes and amber. I wish it had better longevity; I find it a bit low and the projection medium, perhaps making it ideal for warm climates. One day I’ll buy the bottle because I feel it’s original, tender, versatile, and comfortable to wear.

  • A very well-executed gourmand sport. It resembles the original Angel, but if you train your nose, you’ll discover it has an overdose of acidic berries that distance it from the saga’s unifying patchouli. The almond provides a woody, porous, cool, and masculine base, like a natural sponge soaked in bath aromas, some sweet and others masculine and mysterious. Inocent is a very successful Angel sibling, adding an almost sporty facet. I love how they blended the gourmand aspect with an almost barbershop vibe (musk, bergamot, mandarin), something Hermès achieved years later with Vetiver Tonka. Absolutely unisex, a hybrid half-gourmand and half-soapy, quite addictive. PS: Ten years later, Mugler released another Angel child, Eau de Star; it wasn’t bad, shifting away from patchouli towards an aquatic watermelon, though I couldn’t enjoy it due to my hatred of that note. Edit: when it dries down, it bears a striking resemblance to Au Masculin by Lolita Lempicka.

I’ve just finished my bottle, and the name fits perfectly. With Mugler, one expects untamed beasts, but this is not the case. Innocent is fresh and gentle; the liquid reflects its scent: clear, clean, refreshing, ideal for heat. I wore it in summer above 30 degrees, and after a while, it became imperceptible to me, though those around me always loved it. It’s perfect for daily, daytime, and informal use—not particularly elegant, but very versatile for everyday activities. I wouldn’t repurchase it, but I enjoyed it. It lasts about five hours with soft projection. On me, the fruity notes dominate with a slight woody touch; I don’t detect the praline; it’s an aquatic, fresh aroma.

  • Citrus opening and slightly soapy. The red berries are very noticeable. I was surprised because as it dried on my skin, it smelled very sweet and fruity, completely different from the opening, as if it transformed. Am I the only one this happens to? I loved it 🙂

  • By chance, I found a perfumerie selling old Innocent bottles at a good price. I bought a small 25ml tester before they ran out, intending to purchase a larger bottle later. I noticed strong berry notes with floral undertones not listed on Fragrantica. It reminded me of the Iris room spray by Boles d’Olor—a sharp iris, nothing like Prada’s soft version. That note initially attracted me before I discovered the Rituals range. It’s a pity they discontinued it; I loved it for the office and leisure, though restrictions prevented me testing it in evening settings. I wrote to Mugler asking if they would relaunch it but received no reply, which was disappointing regarding customer service. I see Innocent as sweet yet fresh, suited for high temperatures, so I’ll wait for spring. It’s frustrating they discontinue perfumes just when you discover them. Also, I haven’t found any clones; there are clones of Angel and Alien, but zero for Innocent.

Thierry Mugler’s Innocent is quite obscure, which is a shame, as I prefer it to the original Angel. The praline and almond notes are prominent, accented by a citrus touch. It’s an elegant, celestial gourmand.

  • Candycandy40

This Inocent by Thierry Mugler is quite unknown, which is a shame, as it’s a very beautiful fragrance that I like much more than the original Angel. The praline and almonds are very noticeable with a citrus touch. An elegant and celestial gourmand.

  • CYNTHIA1980

It’s an Angel but shy and tender. It carries the DNA of Angel in soft doses; it smells soapy from the musk yet sparkling from the citrus, sweet and juicy from the berries without being cloying. The almonds and praline are barely noticeable. It reminds me of Anna Sui Fantasy but with much better performance and quality; the other is a beautiful bottle but doesn’t last as long.

  • Divine! I’ve had it for years and it hasn’t lost any quality. It’s elegant, present, sweet and fresh. I treasure it. The combination of blackcurrants, praline, bergamot and almonds is sophisticated.

  • Karen Campos

I bought a decant to try the line without jumping straight into Angel. It opens with a citrus note, slightly spiced and sparkling. As it dries down, the sweetness of the blackcurrants comes through, but I don’t detect the almonds. It’s very sporty and unisex. The intensity is low; on my skin it has barely any sillage, so I had to reapply sprays to feel it. I prefer strong fragrances with a noticeable halo, so for now it suits me, although the rich scent doesn’t fully convince me due to its weakness.

  • LosPerfumesDeJavi

Innocent is addictive at first, but as it dries down it smells like a lighter version of Angel 2011, almost like a flanker. On skin, red fruits, praline and orange stand out. Very fruity and rich. If you already own Mugler Angel, this might not be necessary; it’s not very original, but it is lovely. Lasts about five hours with moderate sillage. The bottle is simple, yet the star and the texture are magical, like stepping into another dimension. The blue liquid is fantastic. Give it a try; I think they’re going to pull it from the market.

  • Gourmand Bottle

Lives up to its name: a clean fruity scent with a green touch, super refreshing. Perfect for spring and summer. Gives me a total feeling of cleanliness; I absolutely love it.
