A beautiful spiced vanilla. At first, the pepper and nutmeg hit hard, but the bergamot gives them a soft brightness. I detect a leather note reminiscent of a luxury handbag. The patchouli is very earthy initially. As it dries down, the vanilla takes over, making everything sweeter, softer, and brighter. I barely notice the neroli or rose; they’re almost invisible. It lasts about six hours, with low projection but noticeable sillage. It’s classic, elegant, and tasteful. I adore Nathalie Lorson’s creations for this brand: they have a retro yet modern feel, well-crafted and evocative.
A very distinctive fragrance. It launches with vigour; you immediately detect pink pepper and nutmeg. Then it evolves into undisputed perfection. As it develops, the earthy patchouli stands out; don’t stick with the opening as it can seem unusual, better to wait for it to settle. Then the sweet, enveloping tonka bean emerges, followed by the vanilla that gradually appears. The neroli adds creaminess without dominating. It leaves a sweet, fresh, spiced, and aromatic trail with a balsamic touch. The sillage is wide yet not heavy. It lasts over eight hours; afterwards, you just want to smell your own arm. The rose and bergamot linger in the background. It’s versatile, perfect for autumn and winter, wonderful and a delight. Of vintage character, sophisticated and attractive. I’m delighted. It reminds me more of Cuir Beluga than Tonka Imperiale by Guerlain.
