  • Definitely a unisex perfume. I bought a decant because they say it has a resemblance to Babycat (which I haven’t tried). The opening is strong and masculine, however the dry-down is sweet. In its dry-down I don’t dislike it; in fact, at 30 minutes it’s quite pleasant, but it doesn’t fully convince me. I recommend testing it on skin and letting it dry. Perhaps it leans more towards the feminine side. I won’t buy the full bottle. EDIT: I bought a decant of Rifaaqat, supposedly a better clone of Babycat. And when comparing them sincerely, I prefer Ishq Al Shuyukh. Neither are my type of aromas. Rifaaqat smells like a church, whereas Ishq Al Shuyukh has a more balanced dry-down.

  • This isn’t a perfume. It’s simply a smell. You can mix components and get a smell. That’s what came out. And you can identify it with whatever you want. In this case, with suede, with plastic, with a new car smell, with a petroleum derivative, etc. And look, I do like the smell of petrol, alcohol, flax, turpentine, a new book, furniture, paint, varnish, and glue. But I don’t consider them suitable for perfuming my skin or clothes. But if you like to be perfumed in the morning in that style, buy. If not, don’t.

  • I must say that on the first day I only perceived leather and suede; I came to believe it wasn’t for me and that I had made a mistake in the purchase, even thinking about gifting it. I had applied it to my neck and arm. The next morning, on my arm, I felt a sweet and super pleasant scent that, once I identified it, I haven’t stopped perceiving it, even from the very first moment I apply it, and I must say it is one of my favourite fragrances. I would recommend applying it to the arm and letting it sit on the skin for a few hours so the other notes can be detected and gradually that burnt plastic sensation disappears.

  • I’m not a fan of sweet or spiced fragrances, but I bought this to gift to my mother (she even wears my Oud for Glory; she loves everything sweet, spiced, and woody). I tried it and was pleasantly surprised: the fragrance is very kind, not cloying or a weird smell; it smells like a new car with leather seats (and those seats are perfumed with vanilla). I have sweet perfumes in my collection that I occasionally find use for, but I tested this in summer (I’m from Paraguay and the heat is 33 to 41 degrees, with humidity of 60% and above); surprisingly, it didn’t give me olfactory fatigue or seem heavy to me, I emphasise: I’m not a fan of sweet or spiced things. The price is quite reasonable; they should give this fragrance a sniff.

This perfume isn’t for everyone. If you smell it before applying it, it smells sweet and powdery, but it’s not a common scent. Once applied, the leather, vanilla, and sweetness dominate. I wore it to the beach to test it. Surprisingly, the scent persisted even under sunscreen. Even in the sea and under the sun, I could perceive it. I bathed and still smelled the perfume lingering in light bursts, like vanilla milk and some spices, very pleasant. I had never perceived the leather note in any perfume before; it’s different, with character and elegance. Another blind buy with a hit! Act: I’ve been using it for a week. Its potency is comparable to Amethyst. Until after 10 hours, scent bursts are still detectable. Towards the end of the day, the predominant leather or suede fades, and a very subtle vanilla and that spicy note are felt. It doesn’t produce olfactory fatigue. It’s a powerful character perfume, I reiterate. Sweet but not for someone young, but rather mature. And I definitely believe it could be unisex. I recommend it.

  • Leather, caramel, amber, saffron, suede, musk, tonka bean, and vanilla. Ishq Al Shuyukh Gold is an exotic fragrance and a reflection of the blend of cultures in its everyday moments.

  • My first Arabic perfume. After trying several of the most hyped ones on skin and not being convinced, the bottle in the shop caught my attention. I tested it on my arm and it was love at first sight! I can’t stop smelling it; I’m fascinated by that soft leather…! I’m letting it oxidate a bit until winter because its longevity on my skin makes me doubt a little,… we’ll see! I ask: Has anyone tried Homem Dom by Natura? To my inexperienced nose, they seem similar, the Homem Dom without the leather of the Ishq, but they share components like vanilla, tonka bean, and musk. I think they start very similarly, then meet at some point on the journey before taking their own separate paths.

  • Lattafa’s Ishq Al Shuyukh Gold smells fantastic, blending suede and vanilla beautifully. It’s not that hard leather found in Tom Ford’s Ombre Leather; here it is much softer and more accessible, ideal even for those who aren’t into the style. I think it’s a super interesting option for the cold, autumn, and, why not, some springs. Its performance is top-notch, both in longevity and projection. I recommend it, but test it first. Friends and acquaintances have praised it, though some say the opening isn’t as friendly.

  • It’s a gem. I own many and this is one of the most unique. It lasts and projects incredibly. Great price/quality ratio. It’s for those who appreciate fragrances that step out of the four olfactory families of designer scents that we see (and smell) so often. It’s not for everyone. Suede with vanilla, almost like old doll plastic, is brilliant but niche vibes.

  • I bought it blind and the first time I didn’t like it entirely; the aroma was a bit difficult. I stopped using it for a while and I don’t know if it was oxidation or getting used to it, but when I returned to it, I loved it: it felt much sweeter and the leather toned down, creating a spectacular combination. I’ve received many compliments from women; men have only been derogatory 😂

In my opinion, this perfume captures the essence of Rosendo Mateu No 5 incredibly well, almost identically. The saffron adds a touch that detracts nothing, but rather gives an interesting complexity to the development.

  • PERFUMON! A warm, sweet and potent fragrance. It brings many compliments (some get headaches). Very similar to Rosendo Mateu Nº5 but much softer. There is a difference in note quality and the enveloping sensation of the Rosendo, but overall it’s excellent. A warm, toasted, sweet but not sugary, balanced and full-bodied scent thanks to the suede. Addictive!

  • Salvador Ramirez

Bottled elegance. Smells like a suit, leather, vanilla and tonka bean. Sweet but not cloying; the leather balances everything. At forty dollars, it’s a bomb. It projects without being annoying; it lasted between seven and nine hours on my skin, with strong projection for the first three. From my point of view, everyone should have it for the quality/price.

  • I was surprised by the previous comments. Not crazy for the beach, it’s a bomb of suede, vanilla, leather, tonka bean and caramel! Delicious but heavy, ideal for cold weather, night, or outdoors as it can be overwhelming indoors. Another point: someone said it didn’t last, but this projects a lot, you walk in a delicious cloud of smoky vanilla. And thirdly: it’s not masculine, it’s unisex and very sexy. Many men believe women only like delicate florals, but gentlemen, I wear this and feel strong, striking and confident. If you like vanillas, give it a try. It lasts over 12 hours on skin and clothes.

Smells great, exactly as described: smoky and sweet vanilla. Longevity and projection are fantastic. For 35-40€, you won’t find anything that comes close. Ideal for dates or events due to its density and sweetness; I wouldn’t consider it a signature scent for that, as the Silver performs better for that purpose. Some won’t like it, but no fragrance is for everyone, just as I can’t stand Polo Blue or Invictus. Is it unisex? Yes, right in the middle. I smell it on a woman and I melt.

  • The Ishq Al Shuyukh Gold has a complicated scent for me. It’s not something I would wear or enjoy smelling. I consider it strictly masculine, nothing unisex. Upon spraying, the alcohol dominates but it’s fleeting. Then the real aroma emerges: a blend of suede, leather, tonka bean, and a subtle caramel sweetness that, as it dries, takes centre stage alongside the vanilla, making it more agreeable. The longevity doesn’t stand out, barely four hours. The projection is good, with considerable bursts of scent (around three hours). It’s for special occasions, serious and not for partying. In conclusion: I don’t like the composition, but if you like serious, masculine scents, for the price it’s not a bad option.

  • It sounds like the same profile as Armani Code Profumo: slightly smoky leather with vanilla and a hint of sweetness.

  • Jona19830

The sweet contrast between the vanilla and that dark leather is top-tier balance. Reminds me of Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille or its clones; that vanilla touch paired with a contrasting note creates something perfectly balanced and addictive. It’s not a beast mode, nor does it need to be. The projection and longevity are more than enough for this style.

  • Josué González Céspedes

Incredible perfume, smells delicious. That vanilla is simply spectacular.

  • Canary Scent

Hello, my opinion: Good heavens, what nonsense I’ve read before… If you don’t like it, okay, no problem. But I don’t understand the hate against this fragrance… could it be to confuse people so no one buys it? At the opening, the first 15/20 minutes it smells of childish toy plastic, typical of sweets, but not unpleasant. Then the dry-down is the magic: it will accompany you on skin and clothes to a great extent, wash it twice. It’s an incredible fragrance with excellent longevity and projection. To the untrained nose, it’s a terribly exquisite blend of vanilla and leather. Totally unisex, devastating and delicious trails. I can understand if you don’t like it, but not to rant as I’ve read (not everyone, mind you). I’m going for my second bottle, both from 2023, I don’t know if it suffered reformulation (I hope not). It’s for night or cold climates, in my view it calls for good clothing. A jewel from Lattafa’s immense stock. Try first, always. Cheers.

  • Tomorrowsdust

A perfume that has nothing to envy from the niches (in fact, it reminds me a lot of Rosendo Mateu 5 or YSL Babycat). It smells of burnt rubber mixed with lots of vanilla. The leather is suede-like, but it’s not the protagonist, so don’t expect something like Gucci Guilty Absolute. Nuclear projection: you fill the room upon entering and keep releasing bursts. Use few sprays; with so few, people might tell you you’ve applied too much. I wouldn’t wear it on a date because you could overwhelm. Ideal for outdoor night events or when you want to stand out. For those seeking to attract attention and comments, both good and bad. No one will remain indifferent.

  • labrito03

In short, it’s suede leather with a rubbery touch and a vanilla note. On my skin, the vanilla doesn’t stand out. The opening caramel is almost imperceptible, a sweetness that is and isn’t there, just like the saffran. The first 15 seconds smell of alcohol; let them pass without bringing your nose close. It’s not very complex, but one of the few Arabic scents that don’t need maceration: I atomised my hand three times as soon as I opened it and it lasted nearly 7 hours on skin, projecting for 2 to 2.5 hours. Good trail, between moderate and heavy, a dupe of Babycat, not Rosendo Mateu N5.

  • What a beast of a perfume! Perfect for going out at night in elegant clothes; it draws a lot of attention and you’re full of compliments. It’s sweet, modern and rich, yet different from everything else out there. Scent, longevity, projection and price: 10/10. I own everything (niche, Arabic, designer) and it’s worth it.

  • ChoParfum

Wonderful aroma, better than I expected. Smells of light leather and strong vanilla, ideal for going out at night, to the cinema or dinner. Scent 10/10, longevity 8/10.

  • Fedechino89

Sweet bomb, let it dry because it smells of alcohol at first. Once it dries, the magic begins, like any good Arabic perfume. It’s suede leather with rich vanilla; you’ll notice the caramel and saffran if you look for them, but they blend well. It’s not very complex and easy to like. Totally for winter and night, special events or even the club due to its intensity.

  • arroyoquiel

I recommend it for the office or neutral, enclosed spaces. The leather and bitter-sweet note make it unique. If you’re tired of popular fragrances, this is your option to stand out. I wanted to buy it blind, but in the store the initial alcohol hit and the sour dry-down didn’t appeal to me. It’s not for me, but it will surely work for others.

  • Better not to mention it, it smells like a rag doll at first, then dark vanilla. I can’t detect the leather at all; perhaps my bottle has already been reformulated. The longevity is short, lasting only a few hours like a personal bubble, but it’s ideal for autumn or winter.

Review: Ishq Al Shuyukh Gold (2023). If you wanted to try something akin to Rosendo Mateu without spending your entire salary, this could work. It opens with warm caramel and spiced saffron, luxurious without being excessive. Then soft suede and velvety leather appear, sensual and mature. At first, it gave me a plastic smell, as if the notes weren’t blending; I left it in the wardrobe and over time it matured, becoming round, elegant, and balanced. Tonka bean, vanilla, amber, and musk create a warm, enveloping base. It doesn’t shout; it whispers elegance. Performance: it’s not a bomb, but it lasts well on skin and doesn’t fade on clothes. I, being a woman, wear it without issue: totally unisex, balanced, and addictive. A mature, dressing scent, perfect for autumn and winter, comfortable at work without being heavy.

  • It resembles the Rosendo, but also bears a strong similarity to Tom Ford Eau de Parfum Leather. The heart leans more towards the Rosendo, while the base is more Tom Ford. Be aware: it’s a very good fragrance with excellent longevity. The only drawback is that the first five seconds smell alcoholic, but that’s it. I’m glad I bought it; I now own the other two, but had I known the quality of this one, I probably wouldn’t have bought the others. VANILLA LEATHER, what a marvel!

  • You always have to waste about ten sprays before judging, especially with these budget options or those featuring tobacco and leather, as they initially smell of plastic or petrol and don’t reveal themselves well. That said: what a fantastic aroma! I detect a rich blend of the opening and heart: intense caramel and suede or soft leather. As it dries, vanilla and amber emerge. It’s an aromatic sweetness, not sugary like a candle. At times I catch a hint of rubber doll, but in its best form. I don’t know the RM 5 it’s said to be inspired by, but on its own, it’s worth much. It’s different from the commercial versions. It’s intense, not the Beast (February 2024 batch). Lasting power is moderate on skin but improves on clothes (almost 24 hours). If it’s oxidising, it will improve soon. Excellent purchase.

  • I owned this for two weeks and simply didn’t like it. I wore it on hot days, then in cold rain, both outdoors and indoors; it never convinced me. I asked my family to smell it, and they said: ‘If you can, change it to avoid losing money.’ As they say here: ‘Let it go, mate!’ I didn’t hesitate to swap it. All you get is caramel, which kills the cheap plastic scent it leaves on everything—skin and clothes alike. It barely lasts, maybe an hour, and projects nothing even after reapplying. It’s rubbish, full stop. I wouldn’t recommend it; I know perfumes, I own over 100, and this is not one of them.

  • Most perfumes I buy blind end up being ones I like, but not this one—I had to gift it away. None of my family or friends enjoyed it. Without a doubt, it’s the worst I’ve owned; I’m not saying it’s bad, just that I don’t like it.

  • My first impression was unexpected: upon spraying, it smells like brand-new dolls, plastic and caramel, transporting me back to childhood. I didn’t expect something so sweet. As it settles, it evolves into suede and vanilla, warmer and deeper. It’s difficult at first; it’s not for easy signature scents. I see it as vintage, due to that mental journey into the past. I tested it for three days: day one was love/hate, day two I understood, and day three I enjoyed it. It lasts a long time and projects strongly, so if you overdo it, you’ll saturate. Only for cold climates, not for everyday wear. More for formal events where its elegance can shine. I recommend it with caution: it’s not love at first sight; you need to test it on skin and give it time. It’s special, not for everyone, but once you understand it, it conquers you.

  • Juan Pablo Melgoza Maldon

I don’t have Rosendo or Babycat, but if they don’t smell better than this perfumón, don’t bother buying them. 🤡 I decided to purchase it when Eduardo from My Scent Journey, with his expert nose for niche scents, mistook it for those two. It’s one of my favourite warm fragrances; people always compliment me. The bottle is heavy, with a solid metal cap; the quality is top-notch; people swear it’s worth four figures. Be warned: if you dislike sweet and unconventional scents, steer clear. Exquisite from the start. The saffron gives it that petrol note, but the creamy caramel makes it super addictive. 🤤 After 40 minutes, the plastic settles and the leather emerges, nothing harsh, but gentle and velvety, with tonka bean. In the end, it’s vanilla-rich, warm like a good coat. Ideal for cold days or rain, for special occasions or just for pleasure. 🥶 I highly recommend it; it’s one of the best from Lattafa. Indoors, maximum five sprays; outdoors, as much as you can tolerate. 🥴

  • What a distinguished and seductive fragrance! The dry-down on skin is absolutely insane; it’s an aroma you simply can’t stop smelling, bless my soul! Although leather isn’t my strong suit, here it shines because it blends with exquisite vanilla and caramel, creating something truly enveloping. Buy it; your nose will thank you. PERFUMON!
