The opening of Latin Lover is very citrusy, reminiscent of orange blossom due to the bergamot and white floral blend. As it settles, the citrus fades, leaving a soft, fresh, slightly soapy floral. I can’t distinguish individual flowers, except for the violet in the dry-down which adds a powdery touch. Strong projection initially, it diminishes over time and ends up skin-scent after about 8 hours. Feminine, suitable for everything and all seasons, though it shines more in the heat. Not original, but reliable. Pleasant: 7/10, Interesting: 4/10, Versatile: 7/10, Original: 4/10.
Latin Lover was my first foray into Carner. It’s not original, as Coquita says, but it’s pretty and tranquil with decent performance. Ideal for the back of the wardrobe when you’re unsure what to wear. I loved the opening: fresh bergamot with a beautiful ylang-ylang. Afterwards, it becomes generic and I lose interest. I adore the bottles and boxes from this house; it’s clear they don’t skimp on details and take care to ensure quality.
White floral, musky, and perfect for everyday wear. It’s not invasive or overpowering. Smells like a bouquet of whites with musk and a touch of ylang-ylang that gives it an exotic, beachy air. It’s distinct from other white florals. Clean, feminine, innocent, and pleasant. Nothing complicated or elegant, but super versatile. I can see myself as a bride or wedding guest in spring wearing this.
Latin Lover is a beautiful floral-musk: a bouquet of white, yellow, and lilac. It opens citrusy and sparkling, before settling into pure flower. The density of whites stands out, along with the clean touch of violet and the sunny side of ylang-ylang. A hymn to simple femininity and spring. Lasts 6-8 hours on skin with moderate projection. A truly lovely scent.
Unisex with a slight feminine lean, yet men wear it without issue. Some might find the white floral saturation overwhelming, but it vibrates similarly to Lacoste Blanc or Artisan Pure (without being clones). The creamy musk makes it all-rounder for early spring or autumn. Longevity is weak: great at first, but fades within 4-5 hours. Undeniable quality, but it’s just a lovely white floral (5/10).
