  At first, a highly intense citrus, the lemon as peel, very natural and fragrant. But that opening lasts only between five and ten minutes. Once it settles, it smells fresh, clean, slightly soapy with a hint of floral (perhaps geranium?). Deeper down, the oakmoss, pepper, and nutmeg give a very masculine impression. In my case, it’s a skin-scented fragrance with a soft to moderate trail and moderate longevity, so I recommend reapplying after six hours. Clearly for summer and spring, more for daytime wear.

  An exquisite citrus and woody blend with a robust opening: plenty of lemon peel for freshness and elegance. The masculine side comes from the woods and very subtle herbal nuances that add class. The iris is present but discreet, not bothering those who dislike powder scents. Gradually, it evolves to reveal floral notes with a very clean, soapy tone. It’s not an innocuous citrus cologne; it has soul to go beyond simple refreshment and serves perfectly for formal occasions. It seems more suited to heat, yet not to be dismissed on sunny winter days. It achieves a balance between simplicity and sophistication. It reminds me greatly of Guerlain L’Eau Boisée. It lacks aquatic notes, and the ingredients feel very real. Projection and longevity are modest, enough for a full morning rather than the whole day. In short, a great option for a personality-filled freshness that brightens winter days.

  What a joy this fragrance brings! Although it feels more masculine, it works brilliantly for everyone. It performs well: a spiced version of Eau Sauvage but with better longevity. Once it dries down, it smells remarkably similar to Sables by Annick Goutal. I bought it blind, so if you don’t enjoy classic citrus, you might want to avoid it. It’s a top choice for summer.
