Only The Brave Tattoo by Diesel is a woody-spicy fragrance for men. Launched in 2012, this composition was created by Honorine Blanc and Alberto Morillas. The top notes reveal vibrant red apple and mandarin; the heart unfolds with pepper and sage; while the base anchors the essence with tobacco, benzoin, woody notes, and patchouli.

  • It’s a more concentrated version of the CH by Carolina Herrera, with greater longevity and trail. Although it’s not listed in the notes, the mix of apple with something else generates a chocolate scent.

The first thing you notice is the apple, very sweet and fruity. I prefer the original Only The Brave, besides because with that one I receive more compliments.

Very original, sweet and spiced. What I felt most was the pepper, green apple, and tobacco. A strange detail is that when it’s worn away, it smells like burnt plastic, but I think that’s just my quirk. It’s youthful yet serious, my current favourite. It lasts super well, over 12 hours, and it’s the perfume that has received the most compliments. When it runs out, I’ll definitely buy another one.

  • I like it because it smells like chocolate, I love that. It has good staying power, but it doesn’t leave a powerful trail like I prefer in perfumes. If it had more projection, it would be one of my favourites.

  • sebaspeca

It’s a super youthful perfume for relaxed men, unpretentious, who express themselves without filters. I love it because it’s the complete opposite of the original Only The Brave, which is very elegant and formal.

Only The Brave Tattoo is woody, fruity, with an oriental touch. Upon application, I detect apple and something resinous, without much strength at first. After 15 minutes, the pepper and hot wood explode. By the hour, it becomes linear, with tobacco and a sweet amber, keeping the spice and the wood. It’s not as versatile as the original; better for night, dusk, or cold weather. It looks more serious, but many people could like it. Smells good, though it still feels synthetic like the first one. Longevity and projection are normal.

I’m 16 and at the shopping centre a really kind lady asked me about something youthful. She showed me several options, but Acqua di Gio just didn’t do it for me; it faded in five minutes, impossible! In contrast, Only The Brave Tattoo blew my mind. It smells sweet, brings back childhood memories, and is unique—no one else wears it.

I own it, unique and special. I wish the smell when sniffing the bottle were the same as what lingers on the skin. Still, it’s a youthful, sweet, and pleasant fragrance… Unique!

  • Only The Brave Tattoo is brilliant for cold weather and night. It’s a sweet, intense tobacco with sharp fruity notes held together by benzoin resin. It smells dark, intense, and youthful. It moves in the line of One Million and its derivatives, but has its own personality thanks to the tobacco, which is appreciated among so many copies. After four hours, it loses the brightness and settles into a sweet, young, slightly musky tobacco, lasting until 10 hours with pleasant resurgences. Recommended to try.

  • Only the Brave Tattoo is a pleasant perfume for cold weather and nights. An intense, sweet, and youthful tobacco with sharp fruity impressions, sustained by benzoin resin. It’s intense, dark, and jovial. It fits within the proposals of One Million and its clones… its virtue is that the tobacco note gives it its own personality, something appreciated in a world of imitations. After four hours, it loses its brightness and settles into a sweet, youthful tobacco, slightly powdery, fading peacefully after 10 hours with pleasant reawakenings. I recommend trying it.

  • It seemed better to me than other Diesel scents: sweet, spicy, with a lovely touch of tobacco. Yes, the notes give a chocolate sensation. The longevity on skin was very good, around 9 hours, almost a record. It suits a casual style for outings or events. It starts sweet and fruity in a pleasant, intense way. If you like sweet scents, give it a try. It performs very well. Let’s see if more testing convinces me to buy it.

I bought it almost a month ago, the 200ml version for €42. I haven’t used it much, not because I don’t like it; on the contrary, it smells delicious. To my nose, it’s a sweet tobacco, slightly chocolatey and warm. I use it sparingly as I see it as a cold-weather scent, since the trail is heavy. About 4 sprays last 4 to 6 hours. Don’t overapply; it can bother those nearby, but it’s rich in nuances and quality. You should try it before buying blind, but you’ll receive compliments, I guarantee it.

I bought this nearly a month ago in the 200ml version for €42. Although I haven’t used it much, it’s not due to a lack of taste; quite the opposite, it smells divine. To my nose, it resembles sweet tobacco with hints of chocolate and warmth. I reserve it for cold days as the trail is slightly heavy, but four sprays last around four to six hours. Be careful not to overapply, as it can be overpowering for those nearby, but it is rich in nuance and quality. I recommend trying it before buying blindly, but if you do take it home, you’re guaranteed compliments—I swear it.

  • The opening is similar to Black XS and the dry-down to Red Tobacco. I own both and the resemblance is noticeable, especially as it dries down. I was having a drink and thought the waitress was wearing Red Tobacco until I heard my own hand on the tester; yes, it’s similar.

I like the sweet opening of the apple. It doesn’t smell synthetic, nor is it particularly special. It has earned me compliments and lasts 4 to 5 hours on projection and 7 or 8 on skin. It’s not bad, but it doesn’t stand out. I recommend it for young people aged 20 to 35. 6/10 for me.

  • It’s a good perfume. I’m not one for sweet or fruity scents, but I adore this one. It projects well without crossing the line into cloying. It lasts days on clothes, so moderation is key. I use it only for going out at night or dates. I can see it on a daring, fun-loving man, yet also a gentleman, as the woody note adds maturity while the apple note gives a youthful energy. Plus, I find it slightly soapy.

  • Good perfume. I’m not a fan of sweet or fruity scents, but I adore this one. It projects well without being cloying. I wear it on cold days, so with moderation. Perfect for night outs or dates. It suits a bold, fun man who is still gentlemanly, as the woody note adds maturity while the apple brings youthful energy. It also smells a bit like soap.

  • I detect a super-sweet apple with a hint of pepper and the tobacco very in the background. It’s quite long-lasting.

  • I already own it three times. Others haven’t said much, but I absolutely love feeling that tobacco on my skin all day long.

  • Andrea perfumona

Red apple with tobacco, sweet yet with a masculine character. Smells like Born in Roma Coral Fantasy or follows that line. What a rich scent!

  • Andrea perfumona

Red apple with tobacco, sweet yet with a masculine air. It reminds me of, or is in the same vein as, Born in Roma Coral Fantasy. What a treat!

  • Inexpertoempezando

I used to wear this at 20 alongside Fuel for Life; it had to be applied with moderation, a sweet mix with tobacco. Very good, this fragrance is worth it at any age.

  • The scent is a hit; I bought it blind and over time I’ve come to like it more. My girlfriend loves it; she says it smells like a modern man. However, the weak point isn’t the smell, but the longevity; I’m forced to reapply once a day to maintain it. I’d like to find something with this aroma that lasts longer. I’ll be watching for your suggestions. Best regards.

  • The perfume starts straight off smelling of red apple, as if you’ve just squeezed a few, but then pleasant spicy notes integrate to finally reveal a tobacco that, combined with the apple’s sweetness, creates a versatile and warm blend.

  • I own the original Only the Brave and although I like it, I don’t consider it one of my best fragrances. For me, it’s a scent for gifting; good but nothing outstanding. I was in a department store with no intention of buying when I saw they were liquidating a batch of Only the Brave Tattoo for under $20 for the large bottle, so I bought it blind. When I looked up its notes and tested it on my skin, what stands out most is the apple (sweet, not sour) 🍎 and the tobacco. The curious thing is that I feel as if those notes alternate in my nose without ever quite meeting. This is strange, and it could be suggestion due to the name Tattoo, but occasionally I sense it smells slightly like the inside of a new box of latex gloves (like those used by tattoo artists).

  • My in-laws gave this to me for Christmas and what a stroke of luck. If there is anything to highlight (more than the longevity or projection, which are already good) it is the evolution. In my opinion, it changes gradually from the moment you put it on until it fades. It opens sweet and fruity, nothing gourmand. It reminds me of caramel apples from the fair but with a slight bitter touch, perhaps due to the tangerine. After an hour it settles and becomes a bit more balsamic; it doesn’t reach the point of being sharp, though I recommend not overdoing the sprays to avoid a headache. And as it fades, it reveals a quite accomplished tobacco note for a designer fragrance, nothing synthetic. I love it. In short, I would buy it again. Scent: 8/10, Longevity: 8/10, Projection: 8/10. Ideal for: night outs and dates.

  • I’ve had this since 2014 and still keep it, although the scent has expired. What a pity. I remember it was so strong it used to sting my skin; this was truly a beast mode, nothing like what they produce now. At the time, I didn’t quite get it because I didn’t place much importance on perfumes, but I knew I liked it. I didn’t use it due to the excess potency, projection and sweetness. Festive, nocturnal, youthful, sweet, for cold weather and masculine. If anyone is looking for a 2014 batch, I have it available for sale at a good price.

  • pabgarci19

This has nothing to do with Black XS; I bought it as a cheap alternative because the original is discontinued and they don’t resemble each other at all. Furthermore, the longevity is minimal and the projection is non-existent. Unfortunately, I bought it without testing it first.

  • pancho_donoso

A good perfume, pleasant and good value for money, ideal for cold climates. The apple and tobacco notes are very noticeable.

  • NoisyBoy13

It opens sweet and youthful, with very prominent apple and tangerine notes, plus a touch of pepper and wood that gives it character. Slightly spiced but remains sweet, informal and almost edible. It has a playful, youthful and relaxed vibe. I associate it with someone young and use it for nightwear, though there isn’t a specific moment where it fits 100%. It works brilliantly for nights out with friends, parties or informal dates. It’s not super sophisticated but delivers if you want to smell good in a chill, energetic setting. Lasts well on my skin and projects solidly. Easy to wear if you’re looking for something casual with personality.

  • What a great one! I’m absolutely obsessed with that apple and tobacco blend; it’s like biting into the fruit right as you’re smoking, I can’t quite explain it, haha. Lasts a medium amount, around 5-6 hours, with a modest projection (about 2 hours on me). Perfect for winter or autumn, especially for going out at dusk or night. 9/10, I’d just love for it to last a bit longer on my skin.
