Only The Brave Wild by Diesel is a woody spicy fragrance for men. Launched in 2014, this composition was created by Antoine Maisondieu and Shyamala Maisondieu. Synthetic aroma smelling of burnt plastic, like tanning lotion or sunscreen. There’s nothing special about it to my nose. I don’t know if anyone might like it, but I doubt it.
A complete rip-off.
I let it evolve naturally. As Bray Altamirano says, its end note smells like burnt plastic; after 4 hours, it smells like cheap tanning lotion.
Terrible quality perfume, smells incredibly synthetic, like fast food with excessive sauce and foul-smelling plants. I tried it on a tester and experienced something never before: I wished to shower to get rid of this stench. I’m usually one to let a cologne evolve, so I’ll endure it, but I’ve never had to work so hard to keep a fragrance on. WHAT A STENCH!
Smells like edible garbage with sauce and rotting plants. I tried the sample and wished to shower immediately to get rid of that stench. I prefer letting a cologne evolve, so I’ll keep it, but it’s never cost me so much to wear a perfume. Disgusting!
At first, on blotter, the citrus notes are poorly defined with some coconut water, though it also reminded me of violet leaf. On skin, it was different: a creamy citrus opening, like a lemon cookie with coconut filling. Then I sensed the spicy note, the pepper. After 5 hours on skin, it feels slightly plastic; on blotter, the pepper and nutmeg are noticeable (heat accelerates development on skin). At 7 hours on skin, I perceive a weak cedar with that synthetic sensation. On blotter, some lavender is detectable. At 12 hours on skin, a residual base of cedar, possible oakmoss and coconut water. On blotter, florals and coumarin are felt. Certainly, it’s quite synthetic, even to my taste, but it has applications in certain moments, places and for certain audiences. I see it for very young people or teenagers with little experience (those who handle better quality commercial brands like Dior, YSL, Givenchy have already moved past the Diesel stage). It’s for summer and the beach due to the coconut water note that gives a tanning lotion impression. If used in the heat, I recommend moderate application and open spaces. Moderate projection; it fades to skin-level after 12 hours, more for daytime and totally informal. Forbidden for ‘naturalists’.
On paper, indistinct citrus notes and some coconut with a touch of violet leaf. On skin, creamy citrus opening, like a lemon cookie with coconut filling. At dry-down, spiced note with pepper. At five hours on skin, slightly plastic sensation; on paper, the pepper and nutmeg are more noticeable. Heat accelerates development: at seven hours on skin, weak cedar with that synthetic sensation. On paper at twelve hours, lavender, cedar base, oakmoss and coconut water. Floral and coumarin notes are also noticeable. It’s quite synthetic but has applications: young people or those with little fragrance experience, in summer and at the beach. Due to the coconut note reminiscent of tanning lotion. In heat, moderate application in open spaces. Moderate sillage, fades to skin-level after twelve hours. Totally informal. Forbidden for ‘naturals’.
Unlike most reviews, I find Diesel’s OTBW quite pleasant, summery and youthful. Although it’s sweet, its coconut note makes it wearable in summer; it evokes the beach, sun, sea and transports you there. I don’t know what people criticise about it feeling synthetic… what percentage of current fragrances aren’t? Let’s thank IFRA for making perfumes increasingly artificial.

I don’t quite understand the rejection of synthetics: what percentage of current perfumes aren’t synthetic? Let’s be grateful they are becoming more artificial due to IFRA.
Unique and original! Smells like sunscreen, Rayo de Sol tanning lotion, Hawaiian Tropic, Rayfilter or Australian Gold.

Since I fully immersed myself in the world of fragrances, I’ve encountered many scents, but I always had the goal of finding one with a prominent coconut note. That is Only The Brave Wild: it smells like wonderful sunscreens, summer and the beach. It’s an exquisite treat.
We all have different tastes, but I don’t understand how most people haven’t liked this fragrance. I do like it, quite a lot: it’s fun (without being exclusively youthful), sexy and versatile, although it suits warm climates better. It smells like quality coconut. When I bought it blindly, I thought it might smell like supermarket fabric softener, but nothing could be further from the truth; I was surprised and those around me like it. It depends on the setting: I don’t see it for the office, but it combines perfectly for nights out, home, informal gatherings or travel. Very good scent, with good longevity and projection (I wish it projected a bit more; I have other Diesels that project better). I recommend it if you’re cheerful and don’t live in a world of formalities. If you like summer, sun, pool or beach, this is your perfume.

I don’t see it for the office, but perfect for nights out, home, informal gatherings or travel. Scent and longevity are very good, projection is good (I’d like it to be a bit stronger). I recommend it if you’re cheerful and don’t live in a world of formalities. Ideal for summer, sun, pool and beach.
I received it almost as a gift in an exchange. OTB Wild is a despised scent; even I was on the side of the haters and gifted it to a friend. At a recent party, it surprised me: after the wild citrus opening, there’s a creamy sweet coconut blended with nutmeg, tonka and vetiver. The result is warm with fresh touches and an attractive twist. Diesel wants its users to be attractive; it works well in cold or mild weather, and with little application in heat. Average performance. I think it achieves its objectives decently for its segment. My friend gifted me 10ml of this madness: a strange cover that reads wonderfully. I recommend trying it seriously.
As part of an exchange, I received OTB Wild extra, almost like a gift. It’s a despised fragrance with more negative than positive reviews; until a couple of days ago, I was among the ‘haters’, which is why I gifted it to a friend new to fragrances. We met at a party and I was hugely surprised upon smelling it. In full dry-down, after that initial wild and dirty citrus burst, there’s a creamy, gentle and sweet coconut combined (dirty) with nutmeg, tonka and vetiver. That vetiver and coconut blend gives Wild its character. It smells warm with fresh touches and an attractive twist; Diesel wants its users to be attractive. I’ve found it effective in cold and temperate weather, and it works perfectly with little application in the heat. Its performance is average. I think it achieves its purposes decently for its segment. My friend gifted me 10ml of this crazy thing whose ‘sin’ is having a ‘weird’ opening, like an unattractive book cover that becomes a masterpiece when you read it. I recommend testing it, but a serious test if possible.
I decided to buy it knowing I already own Only the Brave. I’m fascinated by the scent: the incredible coconut is noticeable, followed by a lemon citrus note, then lavender. It’s quite long-lasting, staying on for about 6-8 hours. Everyone has their own tastes, but for me, it’s incredible and projects well. I like it very much, but I recommend not buying blindly and smelling it first.
This is one of my first reviews here, but I believe this fragrance is undervalued. I don’t share the negative opinions; to me, it’s excellent, masculine and very pleasant. I’ve received many compliments from women. It has good longevity and projection. I recommend it without hesitation: 9/10. Best regards.

A spring, summer and even autumnal scent without the chill. It doesn’t last too long, but I enjoyed it and have finished the bottle. The worst part is the packaging: the bottle looks terrible, doesn’t reflect what it smells like and seems garish. Still, the scent is worth it.
