There are two fragrances that are very similar (not identical but they share the same DNA: fruity with that clean touch like fabric softener and sweet without being cloying adding clean woods): Polo Red Parfum has better performance and longevity. It is fruity with a bitter yet sweet touch clean bold and musky. Gisada Ambassador Intense is sweet fruity with lavender patchouli red berries and licorice root. It has a very similar mood projects well and lasts a long time. There are many equivalents online for this; I highly recommend the 8488 from Perfumare.

A beast of a scent… The blueberry note is very noticeable throughout the fragrance’s development. I have rarely smelled a fragrance as good as this in my life. It has two flaws: it was discontinued (the one that resembles it most is POLO RED EDP but the performance is a joke) and the performance is below average (although for me it has good longevity the projection is skin-scent for most of its life).

Hello! I managed to get two bottles; I absolutely love the Polo Red line. Does anyone know in what year it was discontinued? Or if it had a reformulation?

A proper perfumón…

After many years chasing this unfortunately discontinued perfume I finally found it at a good price and added it to my collection. I remember testing it years ago whenever I passed a perfumerie and its scent and intensity dazzled me but I never decided to buy it… If you know and like the Polo Red DNA this in my opinion is the best; I have tried practically all of them (the only one I don’t recall trying is Red Rush) and in terms of scent it ties with the EDP but surpasses it in performance by a mile. The batch I got is from 2015 and this is a marvel; it lasts days on clothes and over 10 hours on skin without issues I remember it being intense but not quite as much. Head-to-head with the new Red Parfum… although it is rich too I stick with the Intense and as I say in performance it eats up all the Red line including the Extreme which I also owned and which I think is quite overrated. A versatile perfume both day and night except in intense heat; I see it as ideal for mild climates or summer evenings.

A rich scent a warm spice super 😋 It has excellent performance; it is a spicy scent that is not annoying at all as it blends with some citrus notes making it a fragrance of the gods 😍🕉️ Love at first sniff 😂😂 Highly recommended 1000 x 1000 🕉️🕉️🕉️

The scent of this perfume is delicious; it is very gourmand one of those I like sometimes. I love the blueberry scent along with a delicious coffee aroma. The wonderful scent of this perfume makes me unable to take my nose off my arm. I do not find it similar to any other fragrance on the market. What I hate terribly is the sillage and longevity which is very poor for an eau de parfum. It is truly a horrible disappointment in this regard; it is not worth buying because to feel it you need to apply a quarter of the bottle every time you use it. Still a delicious scent.

It is a fruity exquisite perfume and its performance is not bad though not outstanding. I think it is a good option to step out of the citrus or cloyingly sweet realm. Unfortunately I believe it is discontinued and difficult to find but it is worth it.

Exquisite fragrance that didn’t quite convince me at first, but I ended up loving it with time. What a pity it’s no longer available.

It was my first Polo and, at the start, I preferred it to Extreme due to that blueberry-citrus note and that very subtle coffee touch. The longevity is acceptable (over five hours) and it smells fantastic. As time went on and I grew to like the coffee more, I bought Extreme. For me, these two are the favourites of the Polo Red range. I see it less and less in stores; perhaps it’s being discontinued.

A rich, sweet, spiced and fruity fragrance. At first it smells fruity and sweet, but after five hours it becomes more spicy and finishes with a cosmetic cream scent, nothing unpleasant. I recommend it for autumn and winter. Four sprays are more than enough, so the bottle lasts a long time. I’ve received many compliments from women over 40, although those under 30 haven’t liked it as much. Conversely, men of all ages have complimented me.

An intense fragrance with bold, magnetic spices from the outset… notes of condiments such as saffron, pepper and sage, with very faint citrus. Over time, leather emerges, mixed with dark coffee and the dark fruity tones of blueberry. Wood and amber give it body and a touch of sweetness, although to be honest I perceive it as more woody and spicy than sweet. It feels serious, substantial and slightly smoky. Ideal for formal use or to stand out. It reminds me a bit of Givenchy Only Intense.

Intense, with bold and magnetic spices from the start: saffron, pepper, sage, and very subtle citrus. As hours pass, the leather and a dark coffee mixed with dark blueberries emerge. The wood and amber give it body and sweetness, but honestly, I don’t feel it as sweet, but rather woody and spicy. I find it serious, well-bodied, and a bit heavy. Suitable for formal use or occasions where you want to stand out. It brings me memories of Givenchy Only Intense.

A pleasant but excessively sweet fragrance. I’ve been using it for two years and, to be honest, I’ve lost a bit of the taste for it over time. It doesn’t suit me on hot days. Furthermore, its longevity on my skin is very short; I’d say it doesn’t last more than two hours.

I only tried a couple of samples and loved them… but they smell very similar to Azzaro Wanted… I bought the second one and I absolutely loved it!

I’m reviewing this delight again. I got it, I MENTIONED IT :D. I needed Polo Red Intense to have a more mature and manageable range, and it delivered. See you in my review of the new Polo Red Extreme 2017; this will remain my favourite, but with the Extreme I reached the point where I didn’t want to lose it.

Sweet blueberries… I love its initial phase, a sweet-and-sour combo with very subtle touches of coffee, chocolate and leather, which practically persist for their ephemeral five hours. Its similarity to 1 Million Intense is spot on, although I prefer each one at different times of day and season: Polo for warm, daytime wear, and 1 Million Intense for night and cooler days. However, this Polo can be dispensed with due to its low projection and scarce longevity. P.S. The price is another factor preventing me from considering it a must-buy.

I love it, but I feel it doesn’t last long and hardly projects. How many sprays should I put on my body or clothes for good performance?
Ruskittle
Sweet, sweet, sweet. Using it on hot days is deadly; it smells quite good and on me it lasts around eight hours with a nice trail.

Of all the Polo versions, this is the absolute queen: it blends formal, casual, and sporty elements with a super youthful touch. I love it and recommend it to guys aged 21 to 36; I think it deserves a version for mature men because it is both mature and youthful, and it would be a shame not to wear it at 40. I am 23, but realistically, I wouldn’t advise it for those over 40. The coffee scent mixed with citrus, fruits, and amber is incredible. It is a collector’s fragrance that outshines Polo Red, and undoubtedly, Polo Blue Eau de Parfum takes the crown (no rivalry, I recommend it). Greetings from Panama.

Polo Red Intense is fruity, sweet, and rich in amber notes. From the opening to almost the entire development, it smells of red berries; Fragrantica says they are blueberries, and you can also detect saffron. Then other notes emerge, such as amber, leather, and ginger, which are the most prominent. In this version, I couldn’t detect the coffee note as I did in the regular Polo Red. It is cheerful and pleasant, more linear and less complex than the first version. It will surely appeal to both young and not-so-young people. Its main drawback is poor performance: although it starts frenetically with intense sweetness, it drops very quickly to the skin, and my longevity reached about 10 hours, but very close to the skin; it probably lasts longer on clothes. A rich aroma, but with better performance it would be more attractive.
MANOLETE
They gave it to me as a gift and I like it quite a bit, although upon trying it I wouldn’t have bought it because the opening notes are too sweet for me. Fortunately, the coffee and leather take hold later and reduce the initial syrupy berry smell. What I value most is that, unlike others in the same style, it doesn’t use vanilla or tonka to be sweet, but fruity notes, achieving differentiation. It’s a good option at a reasonable price (not the one charged in my country for RL). PS: sometimes it reminds me of Diesel Fuel For Life, being the Polo a slightly more adult version.

Polo Red Intense is fruity, sweet, and ambered. From the start, it smells of red fruits, probably blueberries, and you can detect the saffron. Then come the amber, leather, and ginger, the most prominent notes; in this version, I didn’t catch the coffee scent as in the regular one. It’s cheerful, pleasant, more linear and less complex than the previous one. It will probably appeal to young people less so. Its drawback is the performance: it starts frenetic and sweet but drops very quickly to skin level, lasting about 10 hours on the skin, though perhaps longer on clothes. Rich aroma, but with better performance it would be more attractive.
MANOLETE
I was gifted this and I quite like it, although to be honest, upon trying it, I wouldn’t have bought it because I would have discarded the sample after smelling the top notes, which are too sweet for my taste. Fortunately, shortly after, the coffee and leather take over and the initial berry syrup scent fades. What happens to me is the opposite: I like many fragrances when I first try them, but after a while they drift into a generic base that makes them smell like hundreds of others. What I value most is that, unlike most fragrances of this style launched in recent years, it doesn’t resort to vanilla or tonka to achieve sweetness, but rather uses a fruity note, managing to differentiate itself from the competition. I think it is a good option (at an appropriate price, not the one charged in my country for RL). PS: At some points during its development throughout the day, it reminds me a lot of a fragrance I owned and used frequently, Diesel Fuel For Life, making Polo a slightly more adult version.

It is a good perfume in my opinion, although it does tend to be cloying.

One of the fragrances with the best longevity and a wonderful trail. It is fruity, sweet, and spicy; the ginger is noticeable, giving it a touch of class. If you like to make an impression and have everyone turn around to see who is wearing that perfume, this is the one for you; you won’t go unnoticed. This should have been the original Polo Red. An EDP that deserves this designation. Excellent.

I tried it two months ago and liked it, but I let myself be swayed by the idea of buying Man in Black by Bvlgari, which is what I ended up doing. This week, upon trying it again, that intense sweet explosion made me fall in love with it once more. I love the intense and sweet opening, although one must be careful with the quantity to avoid overwhelming. As it dries down, the intensity decreases and it becomes a very pleasant aroma, although it loses projection. The sweetness never leaves for me, and what I would like is for it to last longer; sometimes, after hours, I can hardly smell it, perhaps it is my nose. In its lower mid-stage, it reminds me a little of La Nuit de Yves Saint Laurent. For now, it is a fragrance I would buy again and it is the first Ralph Lauren I own. Edit: I have been wearing it for weeks and now I notice the citrus better; mixed with the sweetness, they are delicious. Previously I said I couldn’t smell it after an hour, but at work I clearly notice it after several hours.
