A true find… for the better. I bought a Dylan Blue by Versace and the seller offered to let me try this fragrance at half price. I also tested the Legend by Montblanc on the other wrist. At first, the Trussardi is much more intense and sweet; after a few hours (2-3), they smell practically the same. It’s not original, doesn’t have much projection, but it’s rich and not invasive, ideal for work and informal meetings. On the skin, it lasts about 4 hours with 5 applications, then you need to reapply. You won’t get excessive compliments, but you’ll get plenty of acceptance. Violet and geranium predominate; I don’t perceive wood or leather notes, or they are very subtle. I consider it ideal for daily use in all seasons (though autumn and winter are the best) and daytime wear. At night, it goes unnoticed due to its low projection. Overall rating 8/10, for value for money 10/10.
Slightly sweet, smells very much of cognac with a touch of nutmeg that makes it mildly spicy. I see it as a night scent. It has excellent trail for the first hour, then becomes moderate. It feels a bit cloying to me, added to the fact that it’s fairly linear and doesn’t change, making it a bit tiring.
It’s rich but fades to skin level quickly… it’s not invasive, ideal for winter in enclosed spaces. I find it expensive for what it offers. Don’t buy blind.
In the 80s, the Trussardi Uomo crocodile leather was my go-to scent. After losing touch with the brand through the Action and Phyton, the chance to reconnect with Trussardi Red, which I was gifted as a sample today, was perfect. I believe Riflesso is the best current masculine offering from the house (excluding the high-end range I haven’t tried yet). However, I must say TR doesn’t spark passion for me. It’s a ball of indefinable scent; aside from the synthetic cognac and that incense-like dry-down, it lacks concept. It feels more like the motto: “What ingredients do we have left over? What haven’t we combined?”. I’m not sure who it’s trying to catch. It smells good, but you’ve heard this chemical blend so often that it no longer surprises; it bores. The interesting part is the pyramid, but are the real nutmeg, leather, and patchouli there? The violet is, with that clandestine lab smell. The rest is shower gel, artificial and flat. Fortunately, a black bottle of my old love smiles at me when I open the drawer.
It’s an elegant perfume with classic reminiscences. A fairly linear spice aroma (tonka bean is very present) combined with an ethereal cognac scent. It’s a good fragrance. It follows the tradition of moderate projection, like all Italians. At the end of the dry-down, it smells of slightly synthetic leather sweetened by tonka. Perfect for a classic man, in a suit and jacket for evening dinners. It’s a perfume to please, not to seduce. It’s subtle, brings memories of the Armani Code saga, but is original thanks to the cognac note. For an elegant man who loves tradition. It’s not an olfactory bomb, it has a soft personality. Excellent for gifting and wearing in friendly environments. It will be very well received.
