Descripción

Ralph Lauren Polo Blue Eau de Parfum is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. Launched in 2016, the nose behind this composition is Carlos Benaïm. The top notes evoke a marine atmosphere with bergamot and cardamom; the heart reveals basil, lemon verbena, heliotrope and iris root; while the base notes settle on a foundation of suede, woods, vetiver and patchouli.

A marine breeze aroma, salty, suede, with a green/earthy dry-down. If it weren’t for its poor longevity, it would be the perfect aquatic fragrance.

  • pancho_donoso

A fresh perfume with salty notes, a good scent, better than the EDT, for warm climates.

  • An excellent fragrance, rich and soapy, with quite a noticeable basil note, made to please, buy blind with confidence… one of the most versatile I own. The problem most complain about is its longevity. In my case, I use sprays according to the occasion; being versatile, I wear it to parties, the gym, dates, the office, during the day or night, to the beach… obviously it’s more summery and for daytime. If you use enough sprays (10–12) it lasts about 8 hours. If you’re going to the gym, use just 4–6.

  • A super generic perfume, very ‘unfashioned alpha male’ and conventional. Zero originality, boring and even outdated. I bought it blind because of positive reviews and because they said it was impossible not to like it. A genuine disappointment. It’s possibly the only perfume in the collections of millions of men; I’d dare say it’s much more generic than Dior’s Sauvage.

  • It’s not the same as before; the scent is barely noticeable close to the skin and doesn’t last a whisper. I tested it on blotter paper and it’s the shortest-lasting of all I own.

  • It’s a very good fragrance, totally masculine and for a man who fears nothing. Very good for warm and summery climates.

  • I know it because one day a stranger was wearing it and I had to ask what they were wearing; you’ll understand how much I liked it. I usually don’t spend more than €30, but I made an exception as it wasn’t blind and it’s not an exorbitant price. I like it because it doesn’t smell like citrus when you first spray it. It smells like a total man, very versatile (elegant for a date but not invasive for daily wear). The downside is it doesn’t last long on skin, but on clothes it takes ages to fade. That never seemed like a downside to me if you love the scent. Just spray more and you’re sorted.

I don’t understand those who say it doesn’t last at all or disappears in half an hour; they must have bought a fake. For me, it lasts at least 7 hours, projecting for a minimum of 2 hours.

  • Update after two months: smells good in temperate weather, but in the heat it goes off and starts smelling ‘expired’ – it’s even nose-aching. Horrible for sunny days. I thought its ‘strength’ was for this, but in the cold it doesn’t stand out at all. A 3/10; it’s dreadful.

Smells like a clean and elegant man, a fresh, formal yet informal aroma, versatile, for any occasion. Timeless, everyone likes it, when something is done right it will never go out of fashion.

I will give my humble opinion (do not take it too seriously, it is what I remember from a bottle that finished about two years ago). This is bottled sea, if you remember the marine perfume commercials like Aqua di Gio and see a man with very masculine features coming out of the sea, literally you will smell this with the fragrance. You cannot describe much its aroma because practically it is that, but being more specific, it is fresh, marine, woody, mature without smelling old, rather mature elegant man. For the same reason it is not for places like school, this is not to smell like a boy in uniform, it is to smell like a very well-dressed man on a hot day at the beach. I find it more for special situations and not very casual ones; for dates it comes very well if you accompany it with the outfit and the perfect climate, it is a masculine fragrance in excess that attracts attention. In conclusion, buy this if your way of dressing and acting allows it, because on a child dressed in a football t-shirt and shorts it simply does not work. It is a fragrance that if accompanied generates a masculine presence perfectly if that is what you seek.

  • Fragranticman

Exquisite, very similar to the EDT but with better performance. It’s purely for spring and summer. I don’t understand why some say it doesn’t last; you just need to know it’s for warm climates (above 25°C). In the heat, fragrances with citrus and marine notes always last less by nature. I apply 16–20 sprays and it lasts 8–10 hours on my skin, projecting for 2.5 hours before leaving a soft trail. To enjoy it, you need to put it on with a smile. Nowadays, most require a good amount and reapplication. Don’t be stingy; give the trigger a joyful squeeze!

  • This fragrance is one of my favourites; the bergamot and marine notes make it perfect. It has a formal yet flexible aroma, usable for any occasion. It is elegant, although for some it may have an old-fashioned touch. I love it, it’s a great perfume.

Ralph Lauren Polo Blue EDP (purchased at Druni, physical store 2023; it was a gift). I will try to be objective: it is in my top 3 of scents, if not my favourite. It is among the best I have heard, a fragrance that has been on the market for some time and does not age, it is pleasant, enchanting, not youthful but neither excessively mature, I would say perfect for someone between 25 and 50 years old. It is almost perfect, I have one note a bit alcoholic at the beginning and I lack a bit of suede impact, perhaps because I would like it to be leather, or perhaps because being a summer scent it is not the most suitable for all year round. On my skin, the citrus scent is enhanced. It is versatile for occasions but not for climate; its season is exclusively summer, but it has little competition. I would say it is ideal for any occasion except extremely formal or informal ones; for going in a suit and tie it might not be the best option, although you wouldn’t be going wrong; just as it seems excessive for shorts. Performance: to be honest, summer fragrances due to their composition tend to have low longevity, and I would say that is their Achilles’ heel, but perhaps I am so attached that it makes it seem especially short. Longevity: 2 hours on skin / 5 hours on clothes. Projection: moderate. Practically, summer perfumes are the ones that make the most sense to clone for performance, given that most suffer from the same flaw, but I haven’t found anything that resembles it. I would suggest you not fall into the spell I fell into; it will cost you a lot to try to maintain this scent, which is exquisite, but it lasts especially little. 2025 Observations: the bottle has dropped to 10%, the air-to-liquid ratio influences oxidation, which should not always be associated with deterioration, but with an evolution. The bottle was acquired at the end of 2023 and used for the first time in March 2024. During 2024 and early 2025 it retained its performance. In October 2025 I notice clear differences: the marine notes are more perceptible (even salt on the palate), the woods impose themselves over the greens, and the citrus loses its spark. It is the only change I see as a decline, as before they were refreshing citrus and now they are like lemons cut the day before yesterday without refrigeration. NOTE, it does not smell bad, but heavier, so in extreme heat it is no longer refreshing. Although it remains a good perfume, in my opinion it disables it for summer and turns it into a fragrance more for autumn, where all the weight gained with the salt, woods, and oxidation of the citrus is more bearable. Friend’s advice: undoubtedly, fresh perfumes, especially those used in extreme heat, should be consumed preferably during the periods indicated on the packaging. Recommended? I would hurt myself not to do so.

  • It will never let you look bad. It’s a fantastic fragrance at a very good price. Classic, masculine, aquatic, yet usable all year round. A classic. 10/10.

  • Polo Blue EDP is possibly one of the fragrances with one of the most distinctive masculine signatures. It evokes elegance and masculinity with a bergamot opening and a strong marine tone, which is perfectly executed. The citrus note of the tangerine will be one of the standout elements in a radiant, masculine, and simple opening. This presentation conveys through the bottle the elegance, freshness, and tenacity of the perfume. Although subtly generic, it fulfils its purpose, especially because the scent is infallible. The combination represents and will continue to represent bottled masculinity. The opening combines the acidity of the bergamot with marine freshness, accompanied by the power of the cardamom, which here does not become invasive. In fact, I’m not a huge fan of the cardamom note, and this was one of the first perfumes that helped me get closer to it. It integrates excellently with suede, vetiver, woods, and patchouli, with the latter predominating in the base. However, the true essence does not reside in the opening, but in the dry-down, where masculinity intensifies notably. Herbal aromas blend with a suede and wood base, creating an unparalleled olfactory experience. Unfortunately, it falls short on longevity, lasting a maximum of 3-5 hours. The projection is considerable but you have to apply it well. In conclusion, it is one of the best among the three versions thanks to its scent and aura of masculinity. It is slightly less fresh than the EDT, as it dispenses with the cucumber and aquatic notes, evolving towards a more citrusy, intense, and marine masculinity. Unlike the Parfum, it does not use the bitterness of the tangerine, but a citrus that transmits explosive intensity from the very first moment, fresh without reaching full bitterness. I fully recommend it for those who wish to highlight their masculinity and project confidence. If you identify with that, it is an excellent choice.

  • federicolupo

Simply put, it smells like a man who has put on a light shirt straight after coming out of the beach.

  • Well, what can I say? It’s unrecognisable. It’s an ideal blue fragrance for temperate or warm weather; the opening is a bloody 10. Definitely fresher than Polo 67 or the Parfum. It’s super versatile, less so for winter and very cold weather. Overall, I like it immensely, it’s very rich, but perhaps I prefer Polo 67 for its warmer, friendlier scent. An 8.5 out of 10.

  • Rockandcolours

I absolutely love this perfume. While I adore Polo Blue Parfum, it feels a bit sweet to me; this EDP strikes the perfect balance between freshness and warmth, without that excessive sweetness. The projection and longevity are moderate, but that’s where I want to focus. I don’t understand why all perfumes have to last 8 hours or more… someone made that trend and it seems everyone has to follow the same guidelines, otherwise they’re bad… and this isn’t the case. Just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it has to smell better; if you put bleach on your hands for €2, you’ll see it lasts all day 🤣🤣

  • SebastianC2702

It’s a very rich perfume. Does anyone else smell something similar to Jean Lowe Immortel? I do, I don’t know what it is 🤔

  • It’s brilliant; it smells of marine luxury. Ideal for holidays or when you want to smell like a well-dressed man in a polo.

  • I don’t have much to add: if it’s hot it becomes heavy, if it’s cold it goes unnoticed. Temperate daytime weather is ideal. Don’t overapply; it can be intense in enclosed spaces.

  • Canary Scent

Polo Blue EDP… A brutal fragrance; that signature is unique. It’s super masculine, marine to the max. Wearing it is like slamming a hand on the table. Elegant, with class. Hopefully they don’t reformulate it. Regards.

  • Very rich aroma, it smells like a man. The bad thing is that it lasts only 3 or 4 hours on me.

  • I bought it for the promised notes. It’s fresh, clean and elegant, just what I was looking for. However, the longevity is a disaster: with six sprays it lasts only one or two hours before it’s barely noticeable. I have to reapply all day and the performance remains poor. I like the scent, but I wouldn’t buy it again for this. Maybe I’ll gift it.

  • Robeeerman

It’s a treat, a marvel. As soon as you put it on, you automatically become an elegant, serious and determined man. The only downside is the longevity; it doesn’t reach that average level where you think, ‘well, it’s done its job’.

  • Javi De Palma

I’ve just tried the Polo Blue EDP and it has pleasantly surprised me. It’s a summer fragrance with freshness and body, very refined and mature for the heat. The opening is aromatic bergamot, not sharp, with salty aquatic notes that smell like freshly showered after the beach. Then comes the heart: creamy and powdery orris, very sophisticated, and velvety suede that gives a luxurious cleanliness without being aggressive. The dry down is solid and masculine guaiac wood. Note: it’s not the same as the EDT. The EDT is youthful and simple, with melon and cucumber. The EDP is mature, with woods and orris, much more elegant. Those who say they are the same either can’t smell or haven’t tried them. It’s one of the best designer surprises lately: elegant, clean and versatile. The only drawback is the performance; it lasts about 5 or 6 hours on skin. If you catch a good price on the 200ml, it’s worth it to reapply without fear. In the heat, it’s a treat to refresh. I got the 200ml for just 10 euros more than the 125ml, so it comes out at almost the price of Arabic perfumeries.

  • titancilo

I bought this blind and it hasn’t let me down. It’s that fresh blue I was looking for for the office and suits. It conveys cleanliness and transparency; it’s super versatile and easy to wear. A safe bet that everyone accepts.

  • Pabloufum

Blue and masculine, fresh yet with body. It smells like an office man: comfortable, relaxed, white shirt and trench coat. Understated and versatile. I used to criticise the brand, so I didn’t expect much from a Polo, but this EDP delivers without being overwhelming. It’s enough for me.

  • Luis Manuel M.C

I tried the Polo Blue EDP and was surprised. It starts fresh and elegant, with bergamot and a marine air that gives a sense of cleanliness. What I like most is how it blends with the cardamom, a pleasant spicy twist. In the heart, there’s a herbal and sophisticated side with basil and lily, greener and more refined than other aquatics. At the base, vetiver and suede give it body and elegance. It lasts 6-8 hours with moderate projection; it doesn’t fill the room but leaves a close trail without being annoying. Perfect for the office or daily wear: versatile, clean, and sophisticated. Wear it with style and it gives confidence.

  • It has a lot of hype thanks to ‘Andres perfume man’, but the truth is it doesn’t perform in summer or warm climates. I don’t recommend it.

  • I love it. It starts marine and aromatic, then settles into a woody base that gives it a formal character. I use it at work in spring and summer; it lasts 4-5 hours with moderate projection and then sits close to the skin. It lasts longer on clothes. It’s for daily wear, work, or dates, not so much for parties. It’s not loud, a bit generic but never off-putting and easy to like. If you want to play it safe, it’s a good choice.

  • Fragranticman

Watch out; this isn’t a ‘blue fragrance’ for everything. It’s for pure heat. Wearing it at 35 degrees with leather clothing is absurd. A true blue is all-terrain, but this only performs in summer or hot spring/autumn days. In cool weather, it disappears completely. It’s not like Bleu de Chanel or Sauvage; it takes a different path and only shines with the heat.

  • Lucapereirafitperfumes

I prefer the EDT, but this EDP lasts longer and projects more, so I choose it. It’s rich, addictive, and masculine; you’ll get compliments and everyone likes it. It’s versatile for any occasion, though winter isn’t its strong suit, but if you apply it well, it’s noticeable. Its only flaw is that it’s overused and almost everyone knows it, which is why I stopped wearing it, but it remains a fulfilling perfume that works. If you don’t know it, buy blind.

  • Wlad Molina

Absolute clean freshness. It’s an aquatic and soapy accord dominated by musk, giving the sensation of just coming out of the shower. There are no standout notes; it’s all homogeneous and linear. It doesn’t evolve, staying on that soapy line from the start. It conveys confidence and vitality. Ideal for summer, sport, or outdoors; not for the office, but perfect for a powerful, timeless daily routine. 8.5/10, safe and uncomplicated.

  • Lord inglés

Totally agree with Pedroresti. I bought it two years ago and it’s exquisite, but the longevity is a shame: with luck, 15 minutes on the skin, and you have to spray your neck so people can smell it. That’s why I opted for Polo Parfum, which lasts acceptably and smells almost the same. My golden rule: it must please you and last longer than average.

  • Pure summer in a bottle. It starts soapy and marine, but the basil and suede add an elegant touch that saves it. It’s not a beast; it lasts just enough for a fresh scent. While it smells like ‘Polo’ or ‘Acqua di Gio’ to most, it has its own vibe. Highly recommended.

  • On Skin Parfums

I picked it up on offer in 2025 for €50 and it’s a winner. It’s my signature: aromatic, fresh, marine, and elegant. It’s not exclusive, but it smells delicious and everything is well balanced. On my dry skin, it lasts about six hours with a discreet trail. It’s in my top 20; it always works and people like it. Try it and let it dry for 30 minutes before judging.
