Relique d’Amour is mystical, complex, with an strange elegance. It’s a marvel by Oriza L. Legrand. With this perfume, you are teleported to another place and time: perhaps an ancient small Romanesque church, with one foot in an artist’s workshop and the other inside the church. It smells of linseed oil, incense, myrrh, flowers, woods, and fresh moss. The result is sublime, even divine.
I use it after a shower; it works great for hot climates. It gives me the sensation of being in a cold church, surrounded by marble and stone walls. It smells exactly like when you wet a church stone, that smell emitted by marble elements when they are damp. A wonder without a doubt.

This review is for ‘Prayer’, the limited edition of Relique D’Amour. A brilliant shop, Ecuación Natural, with top-notch customer service, gifted me this among other things. Today is a fresh spring afternoon; I decided not to study, I’m on the sofa with the living room window wide open, put exactly two drops of this potion and… I’ve travelled north, to some lost Galician village, very lush and green, rural shepherd paths, to a stream that leads to a small waterfall. Behind it, almost on the rocks, an abandoned marble chapel, decorated with moss and wild nature. There’s a constant, fresh, vibrant breeze. Facing the chapel, a baptismal font full of water accumulated by the dampness; I dipped my fingers, made the sign of the cross, and suddenly opened my eyes: I was back in my living room, on the sofa, window open, with neighbours clapping at 8 pm and people euphoric with car horns… I want to go back there. A brutal experience. I thought nothing could be fresher than Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte… It’s exhilarating, more of a spiritual retreat than a church. I don’t want to smell like this, but this is a masterpiece. 10 out of 10.
For me, this is more than a perfume; it’s a masterful sensory experience. It’s the sensation of being in a crypt, in a closed cult place for a long time and now inside it. The smell of marble and stone impregnated by years of liturgies, incense, dampness, and wilted flowers. As an olfactory recreation, it’s a masterpiece, a delight to let oneself be carried away by the creator’s creativity and the sensations it evokes. But as a perfume for the skin, the truth is, I don’t find the charm.
For me, this is more than a perfume; it is a masterful sensory experience. It is the sensation of being in a crypt, in a closed cult place for a long time until you enter. It smells of marble and stone impregnated by years of liturgies, incense, dampness and withered flowers. As an olfactory recreation, it is a masterpiece and a delight to let oneself go before the creator’s creativity and the sensations it evokes. But as a skin scent, the truth is, I don’t find any charm in it.
I also tried the special edition of Relique D’Amour by Oriza L. Legrand, which was gifted to me by Ecuación Natural. I’ve tested it twice. It’s one of the best-balanced and prettiest cypresses I’ve ever tried. It fascinates me. It’s fantastic and evocative: a walk through the Pyrenees entering a Romanesque hermitage. Exactly. Green aromas, fallen conifer needles, subtle incense, stone, and dampness. Hard to describe, easy to feel. The trail is very intimate after the first hour, giving me a bit of fatigue, and the longevity hasn’t been huge, around 5-6 hours. Still, I hesitate to buy a 5ml decant. I think it’s perfect for spring and autumn, perhaps summer, for early morning walks through idyllic landscapes. Maybe it opens up more in the heat. Scent 9/10, Longevity 6.5/10, Sillage 6.5/10, Value for money 6.5/10, Versatility 4/10, Packaging 7.5/10. Would I buy it again? No, I didn’t.
I also ordered a sample of Prayer, the special edition of Relique D’Amour by Oriza L. Legrand via Natural Equation. I’ve tried it twice and it is one of the most balanced and beautiful cypress scents I’ve ever smelled. It was a fascinating experience: fantastic and evocative. Imagine a walk through the Pyrenees entering a Romanesque hermitage; that is exactly what it is. Green aromas, fallen conifer needles, a very subtle incense, stone and dampness. Hard to explain but easy to feel; it transports you there. Unfortunately, the trail becomes very intimate after the first hour, perhaps causing me fatigue, and the longevity on my skin hasn’t been high, around 5-6 hours. Still, I hesitate to buy a 5ml decant because I think it is perfect for spring and autumn, perhaps summer, ideal for dawn walks in idyllic landscapes… With more heat, it might open up and project more. Scent 9/10, Longevity 6.5/10, Sillage 6.5/10, Value for money 6.5/10, Versatility 4/10, Packaging 7.5/10. Would I buy it again? I haven’t bought it.
It smells very natural, but I don’t detect the marble church, the green landscapes, or the crypts. To me, it smells very similar to celery water.
I’m blown away by the colours. It doesn’t smell like ecclesiastical incense; it literally smells like the interior of a complete church: incense, stone, water lilies, and even conveys the cold and dampness inside. Incredible, a scent recreated to perfection, a work of art.
Very elegant, delicate yet with character. Flowers, talc, a gentle green, and on the other hand, pepper, oak, and incense. You feel the subtlety and character at the same time. It sparks my imagination: a 30-year-old woman with personality, humour, laughter, and a spark. I don’t smell the church (which happens to many with incense), perhaps because I’m not there. Instead, I sense a scent full of contrasts, crafted with mastery and great class.
A very elegant perfume, delicate yet with character. On one hand, flowers, talc, a gentle green; on the other, pepper, oak and incense. You perceive both its subtlety and its character at once. It flies my imagination and I see a 30-year-old woman, with personality, humour and a wide laugh, interesting. I don’t perceive the church (this happens to many people with incense), perhaps because I don’t go and don’t have it as a reference. Rather, I smell a scent full of contrasts, formulated with mastery and great class.
Relique D’Amour: Green, herbal, and woody opening (5-10 mins). Then the moss fades, leaving wood with incense, talc, and lily of the valley. Finally, those three ingredients dominate with a woody base. The pepper is barely noticeable; it’s unisex with a feminine leaning, mature and very pleasant. Curiously, it gains strength as it dries rather than fading. Projection is low, requiring close contact, but it lasts over 6 hours. As always with Oriza L. Legrand, it recreates the interior of a church with realism: a wooden altarpiece with incense and damp walls adorned with flowers. A precious memory in a bottle.
I absolutely love these; they met my expectations 100%. It smells like a forest nymph with a melancholic touch. The opening is super green, like an old, mossy church, then shifts to something floral and vintage, typical of Oriza L. Legrand, but the woods are noticeable throughout. If it were a song, it would be ‘Gone With the Sin’ by HIM; it’s perfectly gothic. 🖤
Beautiful, it met all my expectations. It smells like a forest nymph in love with a melancholic touch. The opening is extremely green, smelling most of the mossy ancient church it was inspired by; afterwards, it smells a bit more floral and vintage, like all Oriza perfumes that smell like a Belle Époque courtesan, but the moss and the forest remain perceptible even as hours pass. If this perfume were a song, it would be Gone With the Sin by HIM; I think it is perfectly gothic. 🖤
