I’ve been wearing it for years and, judging by the name, I expected something heavy on spices and woods, baroque-style. But in reality, it smells different. The best way to put it is by comparison: it’s exactly like Dantan by L’BEL and Flamboyant by Oriflame, which are the same scent to me. And honestly, I quite liked it.

I’m a Joop connoisseur and own almost the entire collection, but this is the only one that doesn’t work for me. The strawberry note never comes through, which drains the life from it; everything else, such as the pepper, juniper, amber, and cedar, smells dry and bittersweet. What kills it is the styrax, which rarely sounds good unless it’s in A*men by Mugler. Plus, it doesn’t last or leave a trail. Compared to the rest of the brand, I wouldn’t recommend it. It was a hit in its day, but in 2020, few would view it the same way.
