Versace Eros has intrigued me from the start due to its reputation; with so few positive reviews, I added it to my wishlist. It opens with a heavily charged, acidic floral lemon note over a cardamom base. After 30 minutes, the intense acidic opening gives way to a descent into the heart, where a highly citrusy musk-sandalwood blend creates animalic and unusual sensations. The overall scent smells strangely soapy and oestrogenic, with an atypical aroma that borders on very pleasant synthetic notes. The cardamomo reminds me of that in L’Homme L’Nuit, slightly echoing the mid-notes of a very citrusy L’Homme. After eight hours, it is still noticeable at a short distance. Jeans Couture Man owes its fame to a very well-executed blend; its greatest virtue is the longevity and an aroma that, while not to my taste, I understand and justify the love English speakers have for it. It is perfect for all four seasons and informal wear.
