Descripción

S.T. Dupont pour Homme by S.T. Dupont is a men's fragrance from the olfactive family. Launched in 1998, the nose behind this composition is Gerard Anthony. The top notes unfold with coriander, rosemary, lemon, tarragon, and galbanum; the heart reveals iris, cypress, lavender, carnation, jasmine, and cinnamon; while the base notes settle on vetiver, fir, incense, sandalwood, cedar, musk, coconut, patchouli, and amber.

Although Fragrantica doesn’t classify it, it seems to be a woody-spicy fragrance with a floral tendency. At first, it reminds me of Cartier Declaration, but they aren’t twins as some in English say; it has a touch, surely due to the coriander. This one is much more floral than Cartier but equally dense. In the end, they keep the flowers (lavender, jasmine, carnation, iris) with woods and vetiver. It lasted over 12 hours and has heavy projection at the start, so don’t overapply. It’s elegant, distinguished, and distinct, like Declaration, but more long-lasting and economical. It seems better for winter or cold temperate climates, and more for night than day.

I tried this in Santiago de Chile and thought it no longer existed. As Priet Callas says, it’s an aromatic, woody, spicy scent reminiscent of Cartier Declaration due to the coriander and cardamomo, with pure white flowers. It’s different, very elegant, with a fresh lemon opening, metallic tones of pine or fir, coriander (which they don’t declare), dominant cardamomo, classic vetiver, and greenery. Very good! It’s dense, with great sillage and longevity on skin and clothes. Ideal for night and formal wear, perfect for ages 30 to 55.

  • It has a lovely middle phase, I believe it’s the carnation, warm and sensual. The coriander seeds have an orangey tone, nothing like the green part (which reminds of lime, try it: chew them). Comparing Declaration side by side, they are similar. Declaration is softer and more enigmatic, sometimes seeming watery, but seeking more naturalness and a powdery effect. This one is bolder, a bit synthetic or brash next to the other, but then again… how many sprays of Declaration do I have to apply?

  • What I like about this Dupont is the lemony, fresh opening with subtle drops of lavender turning into a sweet, slightly spicy iris. The pine notes are soft but add richness. It has herbal, floral, woody, and incense facets without losing freshness. The heart is an interesting iris that changes over time. It fixes well on the skin, but my only wish is for a stronger sillage to admire that beautiful yet shy iris.

  • A soapy beauty with iris and coriander seeds, reminiscent of Prada Infusion d’Homme. Its only drawback is the sillage and fixation, perhaps due to my skin or the fragrance itself (4 hours). However, the first half-hour is a powerful, natural treat, and girls love it. Note: St Dupont. Although it doesn’t last long, I discovered another gem: Titto Bluni Collezione Black, which would be the concentrated version of St Dupont with 90% similarity. It lasts 12 hours compared to St Dupont’s 4, but loses that soft soapy note and becomes more aggressive and full-bodied. Compared to Cartier Declaration, they are worlds apart; Cartier is heavier and earthier. That comparison doesn’t sit right with me, so I trust European or UK reviews more.

  • Batch 2009: A fresh, citrus opening that evolves into a floral-musky heart with wood (cedar) at the end. Refined, elegant, and almost unisex. Ideal for the office, yet it denotes authority—more boss than employee. Imagine it as the scent of a senior partner at a law firm dinner. Update: I wore it to a funeral today and it was perfect: elegant and neutral.

  • Batch 2009: a fresh, citrus opening that evolves into a powdery floral; by the end, I detect wood, like cedar. It’s refined, elegant, almost unisex. Ideal for formal wear, but beware: although pleasant and inoffensive, it screams authority and character. It’s more suited to a boss than an employee. I can picture it as the main senior partner’s scent in any top-tier legal drama at a black-tie dinner. Update: I wore it to a funeral today and it was perfect: elegant and neutral.

I absolutely loved it. When it dries down, it smells like suede, even though it’s not listed—how curious! Projection and longevity aren’t the best, but aromatically it’s excellent. For the price, it’s a buy; the scent is highly recommended.

  • Fragancefran

I was absolutely blown away. Once it dries, it smells intensely of suede, which isn’t even listed. How curious. The projection and longevity aren’t the best, but aromatically it’s a 10. For the price, buy and smell; highly recommended.

  • Wow, what a delight! It’s sexy, delicate, and refined—a true gentleman’s fragrance. Super versatile, natural, and elegant. 100 out of 100 recommended.

  • Waooo, what a delicious thing. It’s sexy, delicate, refined, a true gentleman’s fragrance. Super versatile, super natural and elegant. 100 out of 100 recommended.

  • It’s fresh and clean, very good for the heat. The opening is a bit alcoholic, but within minutes it becomes citrusy, fresh and herbal. It’s a bit light, without much longevity or sillage, but it’s acceptable. Recommended 🕉️🕉️🕉️

  • Fresh and clean, perfect for hot weather. It starts with an alcohol note but quickly transforms into something citrusy and herbal. Longevity and sillage are modest, but it does its job. Recommended 🕉️🕉️🕉️
