The Blend Eau de Parfum by O Boticário is a woody-spicy fragrance for men. Launched in 2019, this composition was created by Adilson Rato, Carmita Magalhaes, Frank Voelkl and Alberto Morillas. The top notes reveal rum, saffron, lavender, bergamot and grapefruit; the heart unfolds cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, black pepper, sandalwood, iris, labdanum, vetiver and neroli; while the base notes settle on amber, benzoin, guaiac wood and moss.

Alberto Morillas is an old fox with his own agenda: if Philipp Plein brings a good budget, he works on it to conquer the night. If O Boticario comes with little, he grabs the No Limit$ scent with low-cost materials and leaves it as a plastic-y, functional version for everyday wear. Without fuss, it fulfils its purpose: a fragrance with a nocturnal soul that also serves for a formal, elegant day, without hiding its low-cost composition. The Blend conveys warmth; that rum note with spicy nuances gives it a serious tone ideal for those over 30. It is not a beast in terms of sillage, rather discreet but not a whisper like many commercial scents these days. If you can pick it up for 15-20€, it could be an interesting option. Watch out, it may not suit everyone.
I own 85 perfumes and took this one on holiday to Brazil. The more I wear it, the more exquisite it becomes. I know they must be tired of this lab’s DNA over there, but for me, it’s a unique novelty. It has excellent longevity and sillage; compliments never fail to arrive. A truly outstanding fragrance.
