  James Heeley offers several fresh perfumes for summer; Menthe Fraiche is decent but a bit plain, while Oranges and Lemons Say The Bells of St. Clements smells slightly of washing-up liquid. However, this Verveine is magnificent. It possesses all the qualities of a light summer fragrance yet has enough intensity to stand out. The best aspect is its bergamot, refreshing like smelling juice in a glass; the note is light and pleasant because its acidity isn’t sharp, smelling tremendously real. Upon opening, the bergamot is boosted by a crisp, slightly bitter rhubarb, which I only notice clearly at first. Afterward, lemon balm dominates the entire scent until the end alongside the bergamot. That intensely green, soapy-smelling lemon balm is responsible for the intensity I mentioned. I’ve worn it for a couple of consecutive weeks in already somewhat warm temperatures during hard work, and it performs exceptionally: it refreshes you, gives you vitality, makes you feel clean… and on top of that, it lasts like half a day.
