Listen, I’ve never heard of Gucci Envy, in case the name refers to the legendary cologne. The opening is spectacular, matching the packaging: eighties-inspired yet modernised. A pity that the longevity and projection are quite short, subjectively. Perhaps it fades because of such an intense opening. I’ll lend it to others to see how it performs on different skin types before commenting again.
Normally I just research, but I had to say something about this fragrance. I wasn’t familiar with Gucci Envy, but after trying it, I understand the affection people have for it. It doesn’t just compete with my most expensive perfumes; it makes me feel complete. When I wear it, I become the man I want to be. It’s exquisite and avoids the current trend of sweet, vanilla-heavy scents. It’s not a One Million, nor a JPG, nor a Black Orchid; it is what a perfume should be: an ode to masculinity. If you want to smell elegant and professional, buy it. The only drawback is that it’s not always consistent. The first bottle smelled spicier and had more projection, while the second lacked that solidity. I’ll update when I buy the third; I hope it returns to its former quality and that it was just a bad batch, not a reformulation.
