It’s a clean, fresh, and familiar scent that reminds me of the last sprays of men’s aerosol deodorants: where you don’t smell the product, but rather cleanliness. I wore it alone and liked it; a different and minimalist experience. 02 is a success for layerings. I tried it with Derby Club House Blanche and it notably improved its performance without changing its aroma. I got a bit inventive and mixed it with Cocktail from Fragrance World; although I’m not a fan of the Angel Share DNA, the result was interesting: fresher and more masculine, until I dare to use it. I loved how the notes interact with ambroxan. I think something special has been born here 😎
It smells fresh with a citrusy touch at the beginning that fades in three minutes, leaving a clean, aromatic, and metallic air. It’s noticeable and doesn’t last long; I imagine it’s a base for layering.
I bought it hoping for a good dupe of Molecule 02 to save a few quid, as it’s one of my favourite fragrances, but it bears no resemblance at all. This smells totally masculine. Disappointed 🙁
I picked up the full Monocline collection: 01, 02, and 05. Here’s what you need to know about 02: the whole line plays with scents that aren’t typical in perfumery, like ‘new book smell’. It doesn’t smell of wood or ink, but rather that mix of plastics and chemicals from mass production. It’s a synthetic scent that’s enjoyable and attention-grabbing, yet not natural. It has a clean, light, dusty, and unisex vibe, with facets similar to Starwalker by M.B. or Not A Perfume by J.H.A.G. Unlike 01, the scent here is easy to detect. It’s a shame that its strength and projection are scarce; if you want to get the most out of it, try layering. Apply the base fragrance first, then 02 or 01. You might find some interesting nuances. Would I recommend it? Not entirely. It’s not essential, not necessary, and doesn’t make a difference. I’d only buy it out of curiosity. Better to grab a sample or decant. After three minutes, you have to press your nose against it to feel it. However, I believe it’s the best of the three flankers. PS: I’ve already written the corresponding review for each one.
