I was going to give it a try to see how it went, but it smells very strange to me, almost like pure amber mixed with Iso E Super, and honestly, it just doesn’t work for me.
I ended up with only the 10ml decant, which turned out to be very expensive and I think excessive for something so simple. Its reputation is just marketing, manipulated YouTube reviews, and suspicious campaigns; for me, it’s pure urban legend.
I agree it’s different; it projects rich bursts and people might even compliment you. But this and Zara’s 4mbr0x1d3 are the same thing. The only difference is one costs over €100 while the Zara one (now discontinued) was around €15.
It smells strange, but in an addictive way. It projects, comes and goes like its sibling Escentric 01. It’s all synthetic but so well constructed that people ask what you’re wearing, unsure whether they’ll give you a compliment or say you smell odd. It has charisma for everyday wear and what’s needed for formal attire; being that individual who smells different. Truthfully, I loved it.
To many it may seem indifferent, even unattractive and expensive for something so simple… its fame is just marketing. Many connoisseurs fail to grasp the dimension of this work of art. Who said great genius isn’t simple and rare? If something captives millions, including me, it must have something good about it. I’m not an expert on perfumes or wines, but if I don’t like something, I doubt it’s good. Escentric 02 is among the best I’ve tried; when people ask you again and again what cologne you’re wearing, there must be a reason.
