It caught me by surprise; I didn’t expect so much from its notes. It hits suede, tobacco, and violet hard, while the citrus notes fade into the background. At first, it smells strong, but on the skin, it becomes a treat as it softens; it’s a very structured, dusty scent with that defining touch of violet. It’s already one of my favourites, lasting about five hours with a noticeable trail.
It caught me by surprise; I didn’t expect such a pleasant taste. I smell suede, tobacco, and violet intensely, with the citrus notes barely noticeable. Once I tried the realistic Falcon Leather by Matière Première, I concluded that Animalique is its older sibling, along with a very subtle nod to Carolina Herrera’s 212. It’s lovely and affectionate, bearing that Byredo imprint from Bibliothèque or Eyes Closed but slightly more cherry-toned, adding a funny smoky touch and, sometimes, a hint of freshly baked bread. It’s not for me, but if you’re looking for a warm perfume, like fur and soft leather, give it a try.

Good performance and scent; sometimes reminiscent of Ch Men Privé but with different tones on the skin and a bit dusty; it’s unusual but smells very well…
No, no, no. For me, it’s a definite no. I adore perfumes with a rich leather note. I get the concept: androgynous, slightly muted leather, dusty. At first, I thought, ‘mmm, delicious, warm, deep…’ but an hour later, I started checking to see if I’d stepped in dog poo. Ah, no, it’s the perfume. Two hours in, it stinks as if a cat had marked me. I wanted to get home as soon as possible. Now I’m washing my clothes and showering because I’ve received five comments saying a dog or something must have peed on me. Anyway, it smells like wet leather shoes stepped on by a cat and then a dog, with a crushed violet petal.
