What a lovely scent. It’s fluffy yet white and luminous, minty and fresh with a hint of sweetness. I’m not sure if that rough almond base is edible or textile, but I adore it. It reminds me of Christmas, of the fabric of the stockings hung on the tree with chocolates inside. It also has that closed-up feel of the store cupboard where decorations are kept between Christmases. I think if the polystyrene snow of nativity scenes smelled of anything, it would smell like this. I’ve seen complaints on the .com that they changed the concept for a collaboration with Tom of Finland. Frankly, that kinky marketing aimed at intense clients seems very basic, very much like discovering filth for the first time #293587623986, and I’m glad they’ve given it a more descriptive name. PS: Dries to a regular amber-vanilla note, very similar to Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea, and also reminds me a bit of Reminiscence’s White Patchouli. The sharpness fades and it loses some of the pine freshness, a pity.

It smells clean, yes, but also tender and like memories of a simpler time. Smelling of cleaning product isn’t bad. It’s clean, elegant and tender; a beautiful perfume.

What can I say? Clean Suede is a fragrance that 5% of people will love and 95% won’t. It smells of lanolin, of grandmother’s facial cream, of eighties stage makeup mixed with sweat. At first it’s not unpleasant, but later it becomes heavy and if you sweat, it’s a disaster. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re an expert in strange fragrances. Update: I retract that. It’s exquisite but only in the cold; in the heat, no. The lanolin disappears and it smells of clean skin. It has become my favourite and changing my mind is wise.

Very rich leather, perfect for the office or places where you don’t want to overwhelm with a strong leather scent. It’s that clean leather type, like Ombre Leather; if this were a floral leather, it would be a soapy, pure Clean Suede.
