I’m sticking with Tulipe by Byredo: it’s a fresh morning. I’m a fan of green and white floral scents, always seeking that clean scent. At first, nothing happened, but then I couldn’t stop smelling it on my wrist; the freesia and rhubarb give way to those green notes that evoke cleanliness. I tested it after an exhausting day; showering and applying it was total bliss—clean and olfactorily delicious, even on clothes the next morning. I feel it as an autumn perfume, when summer gives way to long afternoons and endless nights. It’s pricey, but Byredo is for those seeking unusual fragrances, far from the commercial. It’s worth it.
A realistic floral, like a bunch of fresh tulips from Dutch markets. It’s airy, clean, impeccably clean. Dry down smells like luxury sheet softener. Totally feminine, ideal for spring and versatile, yet classy, more suited to semi-formal occasions. Performance is good, similar to others from the house. In short, a scent that doesn’t quite suit me but undeniably beautiful.
Smells like furniture cleaner to me. I find it stifling.
Beware of anyone saying a dupe for this wonder is La Fleur de Passion. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. It doesn’t resemble it at all; that one has a sweet, vintage aroma, it has its own thing but nothing to do with Tulipe. I’ll keep looking for a decent dupe.
Airy and clean tulip, full of oxygen, like a jazz song where silences are key. It has that subtle pistil touch I love, reminiscent of Galion’s Tulipe. The cyclamen note is rich and the green part soft and enveloping. A great perfume of softness and detail, a ‘unifloral’ as the Italians say ‘solifiore’.
If Blanche by Byredo was the fragrance of the year, Tulipe, freshly bought, makes very good competition. I’m falling in love with these fragrances where ‘less is more’ is their hallmark. It’s clean, natural and elegant, with great class and modern. Delicate, floral, its evolution on the skin is a pleasure and very addictive for its comfort. Worth investing in their bath and body lotion line because it’s a delight and you tend to keep coming back to it.
