Another 13 by Le Labo is an oriental woody fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2010, the nose behind this composition is Nathalie Lorson. Delicious… good longevity and a rich trail! I applied it at 2pm and it’s 11:30pm and the scent is still coming through. Perhaps the price is high, but these aren’t common aromas. You don’t smell them everywhere; indeed, it’s not a mass-market perfume. Highly recommended.
Ugh, a fragrance that surprised me. The opening is very soft, but over time it gains character. Something curious: it seemed very similar to Thomas Kosmala no. 4, although this one is more discreet.
It might sound strange, but to me it smells of metal, blood, and aspirin. It doesn’t smell feminine; it smells like a ‘robot’. I see nothing natural: no flowers, no woods, no citrus, no resins, no fine musks. It’s absolute nothingness wrapped in an unknown molecule, all aseptic like a dental clinic. They say it smells ‘clean’, but I’d say it smells ‘hygienic’. There’s no middle ground: you either love it or hate it. I don’t recommend buying it blindly given the price. Although different, it bears a resemblance to Santal 33. It’s a bizarre, chemical modernity, cold as neon light in an office. Minimalist, unisex, and synthetic with that typical Le Labo edge. I see it for a confident, ambitious, introverted woman, Anna Wintour type. Good performance, but on my skin it gives me repulsion.
The opening didn’t suit me: intense, rough, and slightly dirty. After two hours it settles close to the skin and there it shows its best side: masculine, modern, and sophisticated, ideal for men over 30, any weather, and for evening wear. If you think about cuddling up to someone while wearing it, it’s a choice with good taste, though I feel it’s excessively expensive.
It’s my first time with Le Labo; a sample at El Corte Inglés caught me off guard. After trying Molecule 01 and Not a Perfume (which I didn’t notice), this one definitely made an impression. I wore it after a shower and the opening was a blast of grey amber that left me with a taste of a stranded whale. My partner said it smelled like Baccarat Rouge, but after 10 hours I didn’t detect that note; by 15 minutes the amber faded and the Iso E rose with pleasant synthetic musks. By 30 minutes it settled close to the skin and stayed with me all day. I see it as unisex for autumn days where scent doesn’t matter much, ideal for the office or the supermarket, provided it’s not too noticeable. I wouldn’t fork out the price to buy it, and due to that terrifying aquatic opening, I doubt I’ll return. Pleasant: 5/10 Interesting: 7/10 Versatile: 7/10 Original: 8/10 (for the opening).
Another 13 is that fragrance you know isn’t worth the price, yet it still catches your attention. Here we have that perception again with the brand’s characteristic musk base, alongside aldehydic sensations or what I call ‘airy’, with a pleasant fresh and bright sweetness, a just right dose of ambroxan, and a slightly dirty aftertouch from the ambergris, with fruity touches alongside the ‘ambroxanised’ musk base. It behaves similarly to Molecule 02: you have to sharpen and train your nose first to perceive it and then to break down its development. This Another 13 has better longevity on skin, but its trail and projection are quite limited, although there are strange occasions where, like magic, it reappears and makes itself noticed… and that would be the point that attracts my attention.
First impression: I fell in love at first sniff, although I haven’t tested it on skin yet. I’m writing this review based on that first impression. It’s delicious, comfortable, appetising, clean, and sexy. I don’t know how they managed it, but it’s a fragrance that has it all in one. I see it for day wear and to surprise on a date; it’s minimalist. It would be my signature fragrance without a doubt; I’d love to smell like this. It’s unisex but very subtle, not very masculine or feminine, slightly similar to Montale’s Arabians Tonka but much better: less synthetic, softer, and finer. It’s a fragrance that will awaken the senses. EDIT: I tested it on my skin at night and I must admit, yes, it’s delicious, smells clean and interesting, but after two hours I didn’t perceive it much. I knew it was on me, but I think it has a note I don’t perceive in ‘all-terrain’ situations. Although the person with me wouldn’t stop touching my neck, haha.
I wear it for the office and I must say, besides Glossier You, this is one of the few all-rounders that put me in an excellent mood. At first I thought I’d made a blunder, especially because the most prominent scent is the woody note of Iso E Super. It seemed like an improved Santal 33. I get a headache with sandalwood, but here it’s soothed by the musk and cetalox, which give that sweet aroma a clean air. How strange to describe something without references! On my skin, I was reminded of my father’s wooden desk, varnished, with his citrus scent (CK One, perhaps). That impression lingers, so I insist on its woody facet more than the musk. With more wear, I caught a supermarket apple essence, like Granny Smiths just placed on the shelves, with that sweetness and glossy wax. That’s where the ‘magazine page’ impression comes from. I found a particular delight in Another 13 after months of only wearing Glossier You. What madness: I went from the heavy cloud of Shalimar to the vapour of molecular perfumes. I can appreciate its complex facets without feeling it’s ‘salty’ or ‘dirty’, but rather peaceful, perfect for the office and unisex. It lasts ALL day on me, even longer than Glossier You. Its trail is minimal, but people always leave a positive comment (which drives me crazy; my Lira by Xerjoff doesn’t even raise heads and Glossier You makes people feral). I’ve really liked it. The best part: there are replicas at a good price that smell identical and don’t ask for 300 dollars. Better to spend 350 pesos at Quintaesencia and smell just like any snob in Rome.
I wear it in the office and I must say, besides Glossier You, this is one of the few all-rounders that put me in a good mood. Like with Glossier You, I had to get used to it for a while; at first, I thought I’d made a blunder buying it. For me, the strongest note is the woody ISO E Super. The first impression was that it was an improved Santal 33. If you like sandalwood, you’ll like this. I can’t stand sandalwood; it gives me a headache, but in Another 13 it’s soothed by the musk and cetalox, which give that sweet woody aroma a sense of cleanliness. How strange to describe something without references! Smelling it on my skin reminded me of my dad’s wooden desk at his old job, which smelled strongly of wood, varnish, and his citrus perfume (CK One, perhaps). That first impression lingers, so I insist on its woody facet more than the musk. With more uses, I caught a scent like supermarket Granny Smith apples, freshly placed on the shelves, with their sweetness and shiny wax. That’s where the magazine page impression comes from. I find a particular delight in Another 13 after using only Glossier You for months on end. What madness: I went from the heavy cloud of Shalimar to the clouds of molecular perfumes. I think that’s why I can appreciate its complicated facets without feeling it’s ‘salty’ or ‘dirty’, but rather peaceful, perfect for the office, unisex. It lasts me ALL day on me, even longer than You. Its trail is minimal, but people who get close always have a positive comment (which drives me crazy, I’m not lying: my Lira by Xerjoff doesn’t even make people look up, and poor Glossier You makes people fierce, I don’t understand it). Anyway, I’ve really liked it. And do you know what’s best? There are already plenty of replicas at a good price that smell identical and don’t cost the 300 dollars Le Labo does. Better to spend 350 pesos at Quintaesencia and smell just like any snob in Rome.
A heavy, medicinal-metallic scent, suitable for those who don’t seek attention. Undoubtedly an excellent aroma that hasn’t been replicated, recommended, but test it on skin first because longevity varies greatly depending on skin type.
I want to comment on my last work experience. I applied it at 7:30am (two sprays on the neck) and at 4:00pm my colleague came in and said ‘Wow, your perfume smells great’. I was surprised because, after 8 hours, I thought the projection would be minimal. It’s one of my favourites alongside Santal 33; unlike this one, I consider Another 13 more versatile for any occasion, day or night, heat or cold. What gives it that ease is its clean scent and the fact that it’s not invasive. Longevity: 10/10 Projection: 9/10 Compliments: 9/10 Price/Quality: 9/10. I recommend it 100% if you can afford its high cost. Another cheap alternative I’ve compared and found similar is Juliette has a Gun Not a Perfume.

It’s a fragrance that puts you in the mood, speaking from my experience: I wear it or I don’t, and I love it. In the Dominican Republic, with this infernal heat, carrying something soft and clean like this is an unfailing companion that generates many glances.
I’d never tried anything from Le Labo before; today I sampled about four and what a disappointment. The first was Santal 33. The only one I liked was Another 13, and after two and a half hours, it smelled like nothing up against the skin. I still have a handkerchief with Cabiria by Tiziana Terenzi from over a month ago, and it still smells wonderful.
Today I tried several Le Labo scents and this one, in particular, smells like nothing. I don’t know if it’s the ISO E or something else. At first, it smells a bit like soap, but after a minute… nothing. Not even up against the skin, haha.
Beware of musks: on some skin types, they can turn sour, which is why you must test them on skin. This Another 13 smells clean and soapy, like a mix of medicinal syrup and bath gel. It smells nice but doesn’t project much; you have to press your nose against it or wait for the ISO E Super to do its work. It doesn’t smell like Molecule 01. It’s like Initio’s Musk Therapy but sweeter and heavier. It has the air of Molecule 02 but with more presence and a finer aroma: clean musk, ambergris, and slightly sweet dry wood. I see it as unisex, for summer and day wear. Not for formal events, but perfect for the office or dates. If you like musks like Nasomatto’s Silver Musk, you’ll love this; it leaves a mark thanks to its exclusivity.
Tried it yesterday with my girlfriend and something strange happened: I can’t smell anything on myself, but she says it’s delicious. I only notice it right up against the skin, so I’m not sure if I should buy it. I like perfumes with good projection, so maybe my nose just needs to get used to such a different scent.
Strange scent but it doesn’t disgust me; it smells medicinal, like a surgery, very neat and discreet because it doesn’t project much. I thought it would last little, but I was surprised that the next day it’s still perceptible. I bought a decant to continue testing it; I believe it develops differently with each use and I still consider giving it another chance.
Upon receiving it, I applied it immediately to my sweaty arm after exercise; the scent was super potent, clean and neat, although at first I only noticed alcohol. Then the true aroma emerged, like fresh paper leaves. I showered and the scent remained despite washing. It has no projection or trail, yet it clings beastly to the skin. When I reapplied it after bathing, I didn’t notice it, perhaps due to olfactory fatigue. It’s a rare ghost fragrance: I suddenly perceive it. I think combined with another it gains potency. The scent doesn’t drive me mad; it’s ‘meeehh’; I feel so tired of the smell that I stop perceiving it and everything else stands out. It’s very rare.
It happened to me just like @HerMell: at first it smelled like nothing, then more and more, and with the heat it’s quite noticeable yet not overpowering. It’s always there; you smell it and I suppose others do too. It’s a ‘ghost perfume’, rare but pleasant. On my skin it smells like soft soap, almost baby-like, synthetic but not sharp. It reminded me of CK One for being neutral, sometimes girly, sometimes boyish. Although I barely sprayed it and after five minutes it seemed gone, then it started again. It’s interesting for its ebb and flow, pleasant and easy to like, though I don’t feel it invents anything new, and for what it is, I find it expensive.
Anyone who wears Another 13 knows they can only feel this way with it. Comparing it to cheap air fresheners is settling; the experience is unique and unmatched. I wear it daily, even tried cheap clones, but I prefer this: it’s intoxicating and makes me savour the sensation; I don’t aim to smell like something specific. It’s a stealthy, sensual party, addictive, carnal yet clean, with bursts of Iso E Super and amber. It doesn’t smell like this or that; you’ll simply smell like your best self.
Intimate and soft, this is that personal scent for relaxing at home or drifting off to sleep after a shower. It evokes the cleanliness of Jovan Musk without being intrusive; occasionally there’s a hint of Not a Perfume, but it’s minimal. I didn’t find any resemblance to Thomas Kosmala 4. Ideal if you like smelling clean and soft, enjoying the scent yourself.
At the start, I noticed menthol, then a pleasant aroma that faded in minutes, but strangely, it intensified as the hours passed. It’s pleasant, although the opening clashes with me a bit.
Personally, I don’t recommend it for men.
At first, I hated it because it smelled like nothing, just new paper leaves. After two months of forgetting it, I returned to using it and fell in love: it smells clean, sophisticated, and expensive; nobody smells like this. I wear it after a bath to relax at home or when I don’t want something complex; moreover, it boosts other fragrances by about 80% when mixed. Now, I have no regrets at all.
Using about 7ml: This perfume awakens memories, not isolated notes, but places and people you’ve never smelled like this before. It has a measured ambroxan that makes it feel human, with a woody-amber base like a new book with a cloth cover and floral-fruity notes that evoke clean, worn clothing. It’s a delight to feel how it rises and falls with your body temperature. It needs warm skin to shine; in winter or dry climates, it loses some magic, but in summer, it’s truly magical. I’ll keep it.
There are perfumes that leave a mark, and this is one of those treasures: clean, soft, and soulful. It blends white musk and soap with dry woods, white florals, and an ethereal amber touch. Ideal for spring and summer, perfect for the day or for enjoying in solitude. Unisex, though I, being a mature man, adore it. It’s not a cheap cleaning product; it’s pure quality. Delicate yet long-lasting, though, like many clean scents, it can become slightly tiring to the nose after a while. For the office or casual life: if you like soapy notes, you won’t be disappointed.
It’s a delight! I wore it on a date and was annoyed for a bit thinking it didn’t smell, but then it rose (flow molecule) and lasted more than six hours, so that’s its longevity. In general… rich, fresh, super pleasant, discreet but intense.
Fresh, clean and pleasant, it doesn’t overwhelm even if over-applied. It doesn’t project much but has a good trail that creates a bubble enveloping you at a short distance.
It’s clean and pleasant, though for me it has a hint of church incense. I can’t think of another way to put it. On skin, it sits very close to the body… I recommend trying it first.
It smells like absolutely nothing to me 😅😅
Update: a perfume that didn’t work for me or my surroundings. It cost a fortune and doesn’t last, doesn’t project, and still smells of menthol to me.
It reminds me very much of Narciso Rodriguez’s Pure Musc for Her; they are too similar…
I don’t know what to say; after several sprays, I barely notice a faint aroma of something I can’t describe, perhaps soap.
It’s a fragrance you stop noticing within minutes, but then there are ‘bursts’. It seems not to smell much, but others do notice the trail, which surprised me. I think it’s good as a signature scent, to smell good without drawing too much attention.
I feel this is what I was looking for with ‘Not a Perfume’. It doesn’t smell like perfume, but rather your aura at a given moment. If mystery, sexiness and cleanliness had a scent, this would be it. Ideal for neutral types who dislike anything too masculine or feminine. It’s addictive, with no notes that make it feel dated. A tip: wear it when you’re going to sweat or your skin is warm; it’s a bomb that floods rooms. In the cold, it fades. To smell sexy, apply to skin; for a clean scent, apply to clothes.
I feel this is what ‘Not a Perfume’ aimed to achieve: it doesn’t feel like a perfume, but as if your aura had a scent that comes out at moments. If mystery, sexiness, and cleanliness had a scent together, this would definitely be it. If you are neutral and don’t like smelling masculine or feminine, this is your perfume. It’s so addictive you imagine an ethereal being. The best thing is that it has no note that makes it smell ‘old’, because some ‘clean’ fragrances later have something that ruins them. A tip: for a stronger trail, use it on days when you know you’ll sweat or your skin will be warm; it’s a bomb that floods rooms with heat. In the cold it tends to disappear a bit. If you want it to smell sexy, mysterious, and clean, apply it on skin; if you want it to smell only clean, apply it on clothes.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks it smells like nothing. It feels as though it’s my own skin; could my pH be neutralising the fragrance? Literally, it was like putting on water.
