Top-quality ingredients; upon spraying there’s plenty of neroli saffron and lavender that vanish in five minutes to leave roasted sugar with creamy sandalwood and amber. What a rich thing! Warm spiced and savoury for winter I believe it has a hidden boozy note. Despite being dark it’s not heavy or repulsive; it’s well-balanced and unisex. I bought it in Chile at Cruz y Valencia. It has a slight resemblance to my Side Effect but is superior especially in trail.

  • A mini arrived and I tested it one night at home. It smells of sweet wood with that boozy touch others mention. I liked it although it sounded familiar to another fragrance without knowing which. It’s clear they have a good nose; it’s good but not very original. If it were designer price I’d definitely buy it but at the official price I wouldn’t even consider it; quite a letdown.

  • It smells very similar to Serge Lutens’ Chergui. The difference: Chergui has a good trail and longevity with quality ingredients. Beso Canalla smells like skin at the one-hour mark; you have to press your nose against the skin to detect anything. It’s not worth paying nearly €170 for 100ml when you can get Chergui for a few euros more which is better and projects all day. PS: it smells nice I detect sweet tobacco (even though it’s not listed) sugar amber and very subtle lavender. Unfortunately it’s weak; go for Chergui it beats it a hundred times over.

  • Many lights and shadows in this kiss… The good: delicious scent one of my favourites. That’s why I tested it. It has the DNA of Side Effect (with hardly any shared notes): warm sweet with a dark and very sexy twist. Even though it doesn’t list alcohol it has that boozy touch. It’s creamy sensual and addictive. The bad: it smells familiar the moment you sniff it. The worst is the development: non-existent trail and ridiculous longevity. There are things I can’t tolerate and one of them is the performance in this type of fragrance.

  • All the Beach Kisses fail on performance; it’s a disaster. I tried the Black Kiss recently and it barely lasts a breath not to mention they’re ridiculously expensive.
