Delicious, fresh, classic and talc-free. A proposal that deserves attention, masculine and clean, with decent longevity and a non-negligible projection. I note it as balanced, stately yet casual at the same time, different from any other fragrance today. British style, without a doubt; it makes you feel fresh and comfortable; it’s not invasive but is well perceptible. In short, a sophisticated warmth that earns my enthusiastic approval.
This perfume is classic and entirely timeless. It’s of the same style as many perfumes from the 90s, such as Egoïste Platinum, Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme, XS, among others. At first, it opens with bergamot and quickly you can also feel the mint. In its middle stage, the cedar note is clearly felt, giving it an excellent woody touch and very formal. The geranium note, when tested on skin, I can confirm is clearly felt (I didn’t detect it much on blotter). It’s a very English-style perfume, faithful to the Burberry brand. I see it as very appropriate for office use as it’s not very intrusive. The trail is moderate and the longevity lasts about 8 hours.
A refreshing fragrance where there are no marine notes; a masculine and pleasant aroma. It can be found at a good price; I bought it in Canada at a pharmacy for around 20 dollars for 50ml. It’s the most multi-purpose fragrance that exists; it adapts, blends in, harmonises with the surroundings without losing its masculinity. I remember I had it because Fahrenheit was running low; besides, using Fahrenheit in the middle of summer in Vancouver wasn’t very optimal. A beautiful fragrance, simple, multi-purpose, a perfect gift for a friend you appreciate, due to its low cost and high performance, both in terms of longevity on skin. My rating, 7.5/10.
I don’t like it; I feel it’s very aromatic, and I detect pepper even though there isn’t any. But tastes differ, I suppose there are men’s perfumes with more substance to offer.
A very distinct lavender scent, refreshed by the most citrusy bergamota I’ve ever smelled. After about 30 minutes, the geranium and woods are felt, followed by very sweet vanilla emphasised by amber and rounded off by a subtle musk… a very correct, clean perfume that could perfectly fall into the fougère category.
My partner loves it; I never liked it when I used it a little while ago. He asked me to gift it to her, I smelled it again, and definitely not; very spicy for my taste. I, who suffer from migraines, immediately felt a headache 😢.
In my opinion, this men’s fragrance is the best Burberry produces nowadays: it’s sweet but not cloying, not intrusive, very masculine and refreshing, with good longevity and a soft yet noticeable trail. I consider it highly recommended.
Searching for a return to the classics, I came across Burberry for Men; it seems to retain its original essence: very masculine, fresh and citrusy at first, then woody, finally settling with its soft, spicy sweetness. In short, an elegant and timeless fragrance; it remains a little gem. It reminded me a lot of Herrera for Men, but the original, as the reformulation of the latter leaves much to be desired. Burberry for Men, 100% recommended.
It’s a spectacular perfume; in fact, D&G Pour Homme shares similar base components; I believe one of them inspired the other, perhaps Burberry inspired the Dolce. It’s very good, lasts a long time, and isn’t cloying at all; it’s in the same vein as Eternity and Paco Rabanne XS.
I’ve bought it again after more than 15 years, and it brought back memories of those nights out at the pubs, as it was my first perfume (not my father’s) for going out, alongside Ultraviolet. I love its scent, but it doesn’t last long on my skin. Edit: after using it for a while, I noticed that years ago, when I used it, the box was red, leaning towards a strong pink, and the cap was oval with horizontal lines on the bottom, stating ‘Made in France’. This one I bought comes in a dark burgundy box, the cap is different—not oval and without lines—and it says ‘Made in Germany’. It’s been so long since I used it that my impression might be playing tricks on me, as it seems to last less on my skin than it did years ago. But I can’t be sure. Do you know if it was reformulated during this time? Or is it made in a different factory? … Just out of curiosity, though I’m very happy with the perfume, and I really found it at a fantastic price. I still like it as much as before… and I’m using it more and more every day!
A version inspired by Chanel Egoiste Platinum. Elegant, with a distinct masculine character, perfect for family men. Personally, I love these ‘shaving foam’ scents.
A very pleasant classic, similar cut to Boss Bottled or D&G Pour Homme. Lots of wood, lavender, mint, amber, and floral… the amber gives that spicy touch that some can’t tolerate. More for those over 30, not for 18-year-olds. Now the classic comes in a burgundy red box, made in France, but arrives updated in a brown coffee box with cloth-style markings and a barcode, stating made in Germany, with a silver cylindrical cap without the ridges of the old bottle (which was half-conical with stripes on the base). I don’t know if it’s reformulated or smells the same, but I’ll find out and comment.
Not for everyone, surely. Those English vibrations of sophistication and aristocracy are everywhere. The scent: it starts very strong, a burst of spices that fade quickly. The initial notes can be unpleasant. Then the sweetness mixed with a certain acidity takes effect. The woody part appears as it fades. Very well combined, neither sweet nor fresh; you simply feel pleasant vibrations. For those over 35. Longevity of about six hours, easy. The scent lingers on clothes forever, even after washing. Projection: almost skin-level with good projection for an hour. Ideal for the office. I recommend it to those seeking quality and sophistication, who do business, hate the mass market, want to be different, and wish to be a proper English gentleman.
Old-school British elegance! A fragrance with classic old-school touches where masculinity and class go hand in hand. The opening features lavender as the star, giving that classic, crisp air, alongside a dry, citrusy bergamot and a herbal hint of thyme. As it dries down, the amber and musk accentuate, with very elegant talc-like notes that last until the end. Then the woods give that masculine, imposing impression, while the oakmoss adds an earthy, damp touch. For me, suitable for evening and winter, for those over 30. Longevity: 6-7 hours on skin, projecting for two and a half hours.
I love it; for me, it’s unisex.
I love the harmony of the mint here. I’m the one responsible for restocking it for my partner when it runs out 🙂 It’s a solid, well-made perfume; the scent is refreshing but avoids being too informal—I don’t see it for the gym. It has depth, surely due to the woods. As a woman, I find it enveloping and slightly sweet, without falling into today’s commercial trends. It’s a more elegant aroma that suits whoever wears it well. Addictive. A man in his thirties with this exudes confidence and an urge to approach.
Batch 2009, love at first sniff 😍. A proper modern fougère: versatile, elegant, honest, sophisticated, and relaxed. A signature scent. Is it worth the price? Absolutely, it’s too much quality for $25 (just shy of a bargain). Blind buy? You must distinguish: if you like classics, the answer is a resounding yes; if not, test it first. P.S.: Are there fragrances that Michel Almairac doesn’t make well?
Nice scent, elegant and masculine to my taste. Woody notes with a subtly sweet dry-down. However, friends, be warned: this doesn’t last even 20 minutes on my skin; generously speaking, I’d say 15 minutes fits reality better. Perhaps it’s olfactory fatigue… For me, it’s not worth buying today, though previous generations must have been exquisite fragrances.
Intense opening of lavender and mint, but it fades to skin-level scent after a few minutes. It becomes woody, smelling of a forest, with poor sillage and little longevity.
A signature gem: an incredible scent at an unbeatable price. An absolute must-have in my collection. English style, semi-formal to formal, versatile for all seasons. The mint and lavender opening are delicious, with a slightly sweet base that doesn’t overdo it; the sandalwood adds an otherworldly creaminess. Performance is fair: it projects for two to three hours on one arm and lasts five to six hours, but for the price, reapplying doesn’t hurt. It doesn’t invade, nobody is bothered by it, and almost everyone likes it. No crazy complexities, yet the scent is so delicious it’s addictive.
A perfect example of how well brands care for their classics. Many times we complain about discontinuations, but if we think about it, it is actually fair; at least they do not leave these quantities of mummified, useless, unserviceable perfumes wandering the earth. And we are not talking about fifties Guerlain or Caron lotions, no, this is not even thirty years since its launch. The first Carolina Herrera, Le Male, 212, Acqua di Gio… what is the point of supposedly keeping alive perfumes from which young people were twenty years ago if they then smell like nothing? I understand that people of twenty today may not be interested, beyond some cultivated youth with a desire to explore. Very well, for them their current vanilla green crosses… but what is there in it morally to sell perfumes filled with water? Because that is what happens with this Burberry and the ones I cite before. They are not capped, they are capped, it is that many do not last even twenty-five minutes. Useless perfumes. It would be better if they stopped producing them. What they sell today as Burberry Men has little recommendation; why? The true Burberry Men, of which I have some vials and have recently been remembering, was a put-together and simple perfume. It cuts with the early nineties super sporty clowns and is not yet as modern as the crystal waters of the late nineties. A sweet chlorophyll current muddies the blend of geranium, bergamot, and lavender, to not turn it into another one of the father perfumes that preceded it. From the blend emerge spiced tinklings of something that could be bergamot tobacco or tobacco bergamot. In the base, how not, a rough musk in abundance, which together with the citrus and woods positions it as a formal fragrance, for good and simple boys, but with the typical cold mint touch of the nineties and a touch of talcated vanilla in the background. A classic perfume adapted to the times. You could use it your father could also use it and his son. Neat, clean, and sensual if you understand that a wool jumper can be so too. And little more. Was it a bomb? No. Was it bad? Not at all. Simply a fragrance for those who do not want to warm their heads with extravagant stories. Exactly what Burberry always was. Not even in its first runs was it an overwhelming perfume, moreover, in the very nature of the composition, aromatic woody spicy, the virtue of longevity is not precisely present. But when they launched it, it had a certain molla within its calm and whispering nature. Nuances, packaging, body… what they sell today is simply water seasoned with two drops of perfume. As for the typical stories of the FIFA, the UEFA, and their mother on a motorcycle to justify what they do today with classic perfumes, selling water in glass bottles, excuse me, but go try to fool your grandmother. They do it because they want to.
I did not expect this when I bought the 30 ml bottle… but I will go for the 100 ml. While do not expect a groundbreaking scent or anything of the sort, the fragrance is very well constructed with a very balanced performance, and despite being something that will certainly generate compliments today, it is a type of fragrance that is not as massified because trends are sweet and ‘ambroxous’, so it will fly to become my signature fragrance for work (8/10).
This perfume has been around for 28 years and continues to stand the test of time as if it had been launched just a month ago. This makes me think of two things: first, that what is truly good is always good. And second, how mediocre modern commercial fragrances are. I am speaking of the 2022 batch. Burberry Men is a wonderful work by Michel Almairac, refreshing and elegant, more for spring and summer, and much less versatile than I have read elsewhere. It does not have much body for evening wear, despite being noticeable for hours, and does not bring out all its virtues on winter days with low temperatures. The mint note is there and noticeable. If you like that, try it. I was surprised by its longevity. After reading catastrophic comments about it, I expected mineral water in a perfume bottle. And nothing, it lasts its 5-6 hours and 2-3 hours of projection, not bad for a fresh perfume which, if I am not mistaken, has been reformulated to boredom. It has held up well; the current version is still worth it. 15€/50ml, I cannot ask for more. It gives a sense of neatness, of those perfumes that are a pleasure to wear with a white shirt on a sunny spring afternoon. Fantastic for working in enclosed spaces; it is impossible for it to be annoying or disliked. It has that nineties imprint of ethereal, fresh, and clean perfumes like Egoiste Platinum (which, by the way, resembles it in its dry-down), perfumes that always had that air of sophistication without stridency and of honest, noble masculinity, without having to dominate or trample others. From start to finish, Burberry is worthy of an English gentleman.
Everything about this fragrance is probably already said in the previous comments, but if I want to add that there is a L’Bel Bleu Intense catalogue fragrance which, FOR ME and I hope no one is offended, are practically identical, and I consider the L’Bel one to be better in projection and longevity and can be found for around $14.
Do not ask me why, but if you were to make me smell 1,000 perfumes and then ask me: of all of them, which would best match the classic English man dressed in his tweed jacket and a Barbour, on a morning or afternoon in autumn/winter? Have no doubt that I would always choose this, without possibility of error. It smells very good and is different from all others. Not being one of my favourites, I still like it; it conveys elegance, savoir-faire, for a mature man who always dresses well. I do not see it for summer, although it is not heavy.
I owned this fragrance and I must say it is a tremendous gem. One of those that no one values anymore, as modern marketing and current tastes have cruelly ensured the release of pure fragrances without love or personality. NOTE, I do like many current fragrances, including the typical Invictus, Dylan Blue, EDP, Sauvage, 1 Million Lucky, etc., but it is important to emphasise that they have left the true scent of a sophisticated man, an exemplary man, a pure man, far behind. Burberry For Men. A brilliant fragrance: green, mentholated, aromatic, mossy, citrusy, woody. In summary, as I said in the review on my channel GONÉ VALO FRAGANCIAS (you are cordially invited to watch the review, hehe), this fragrance is an English man from the 1920s going to a barbershop for a good shave. The smell of artisan shaving foam, with mentholated, aromatic, and green notes, ready to impart a purely masculine scent. This is one of those fragrances I have noted to buy AGAIN, as it is truly a delight to use. If you do not have a beard, this fragrance will surely make you grow one. Come on, do not be afraid, my good friend. Duration: approx. 6 hours. Projection: 2 solid hours, afterwards a personal bubble still perceptible. It is not a beast mode but is very noticeable. Seasons: All year round, no problem. Summary: Do not miss out on this fragrance. At least once in your life you must try it and see that it smells super good. Greetings and blessings to all.
I was gifted this perfume treasure for my birthday in August (four months ago), and the truth is, it has me hooked on its elegance and neatness. I have dozens of perfumes, and without fear of sounding exaggerated, I prefer this over those from Tom Ford and Creed. Honestly, before they gave it to me, I had never smelled it, and the truth is, it was love at first sniff. I will stick with BURBERRY FOR MEN because BURBERRY FOR MEN stays with me. I absolutely love it!
It has been over twenty years since I last wore this wonder; I notice they have changed the formula, as I remember it used to irritate my nose when I smelled it back in the nineties. It still has its essence, however, I feel it fades quite quickly, just a few minutes after application.
A hidden gem and/or undervalued scent, less well-known, though I believe those who have encountered it appreciate it. I like it because it is a versatile all-rounder, timeless, and unlike many daily citrus perfumes, there are few such charming aromatic masculine scents. It opens herbal and almost fresh, then sweetens at exactly the right moment. It projects well and lasts a good while, only confirming to me that the commercial perfumery of the nineties was a great decade; that is the one we love most. It shows that by exploring older launches, one can smell very good and build a small collection without even venturing into niche territory. A scent that brings a good vibe, leaves an impression, and is recommended to buy without a doubt. Even if I finish the bottle one day, I will keep it in my collection. Enjoy it.
Elegance, class and timeless masculinity. I simply love it. It smells like a clean, well-dressed man, for a dandy. If you’re wearing a cap and sportswear, it’s not for you. Duration and trail are decent, good value for money. It can be bought for less than £40 for 100ml. Totally recommended if you want to escape sweet and boring trends.
Good, good-looking, and cheap. It is the definition of a summer and spring fragrance, uncomplicated and pleasant. Suitable for informal and semi-formal occasions. Reliable and a solid choice. It avoids being common or generic. A fragrance for a young adult man. I love wearing it for work; it gives me an energising vibe when I leave the house and a warm sensation that lingers. I absolutely love it. 100% Recommended.
I enjoyed it at 15 and today at 35 I have even more affection for it; it’s a hit if you want people to tell you that you smell good. The only downside is that it doesn’t last long.
Excellent. It smells clean and energises you as soon as you put it on. Recommended for young adults who want to smell good and project an image of a neat man. It’s more of a personal bubble than a beast.
A distinguished and sophisticated fragrance, ideal for formal gentlemen who want to make an impression with their scent. It’s refreshing and woody, it will never go out of fashion. Just remember to apply it well. Best regards.
The perfect scent for a man: manly, elegant, timeless and neat. It’s a gem. Of my more than 100 perfumes, this is undoubtedly one of my favourites.
Wonderful. I’ve finished a bottle and already have another. At 50, it suits me perfectly with that woody base, but a younger man could wear it too. From my point of view, it’s very masculine.
They gave it to me and I’ve had it a bit forgotten, but when I use it it transports me back to my glorious youth. It smells incredible, it’s timeless, elegant and people like it a lot at work. It has a good price and always works well in any situation. 8.5/10.
Although it’s a men’s fragrance, it’s so soft I wear it in the heat without any issues. It’s timeless, elegant and refreshing, without bothering anyone. It seems youthful and easy to wear, whether to work or a party. It’s a little gem that continues to charm with time.
It’s the perfume of autumn: rain, leaves, coats and trench coats. It’s super versatile, suitable for everything, formal or informal. It didn’t convince me at first, but now I love it for its elegance and sobriety. It lasts 4-6 hours in my personal bubble, although I notice my nose gets tired and sometimes I don’t feel it. It’s not a beast, it’s discreet and for being close.
Smells great, nothing annoying. It fades quickly on my skin or my nose gets tired, so I don’t notice it much after a while. It’s soft, clean and fresh, perfect for the office as it’s not overpowering. I’m not an expert on notes, but I like it. I’d say the best thing is to try a decant, as it doesn’t last long on my skin.
