It’s not for everyday wear; it’s an exquisite oil and do you know what it’s for? To relax. It’s a super refreshing citrusy herbal fragrance, smelling of lemon tea, excellent for forgetting stress and falling asleep. It’s more calming than the passion fruit or andiroba, it’s worth it, it’s very rich.
Not for everyday wear; it’s an exquisite oil designed for relaxation. A super refreshing herbal citrus scent that smells like lemon tea, excellent for shedding stress and aiding sleep. It’s more calming than the passion fruit or andiroba versions, and absolutely worth the price—it’s lovely.
It was a limited edition in Argentina. The kit came with cologne, cream and shower oil, which is also used without rinsing. The scent seemed very pleasant: a citrusy, lemony herbal aroma with woody touches. In Portuguese, capim-limão is lemon grass, or I think lemon-scented citronella here, also known as lemongrass sometimes (poor plant, what confusion), and in English it’s lemongrass. That gives an idea of the smell. When I tried the Colombian drink with unrefined sugar in lumps, the lemon variety reminded me of the freshness of this cologne (both absolutely delicious!). Here, the lemon grass had nothing sweet like caramel; it was properly herbal. Subtle, delicate, clean and comforting. Fresh and energising yet calming. The only drawback for those who don’t use cream, cologne and oil is that it lasted at most two or three hours and the projection was low. I wish it were more intense; it would have been a great perfume.

The aroma was very pleasant: a herbal citrus with lemon notes and woody undertones. In Portuguese, ‘capim-limão’ is lemon grass or sweet lemon grass (here, sometimes called citronella, poor plant, what a confusion), and in English, lemongrass. That gives a good idea of the scent. When I tried the Colombian lemon drink with unrefined block sugar, the lemon version reminded me of this cologne’s freshness (both delicious!). It smells like a single note of lemongrass (capim limão), fresh and crisp. In the Amazon, this little plant is used for ‘joy baths’ to lift the mood and relieve stress, so perhaps it works well for sleep. It’s a cologne, slightly oily, so the instructions say to apply it after a bath on damp skin. Yes, Ekos Capim Limao evokes those ritual Amazonian baths of smiling serenity. That’s exactly what it reminds me of! I hope Natura re-releases it; they already launched a mint and lemongrass body spray that I like, but I feel the lemongrass gets lost among other ingredients and carries that citrusy Tododía stamp. I must emphasise that I do like it, though I prefer this much purer, subtler version from Ekos by far. Worth mentioning it’s also a good fly repellent 😉
