Cheirosa 59 is the fragrance of the Delicia Drench cream, so I’m talking about the scent until the body mist arrives here in Spain (which I’m eagerly awaiting). It’s very sweet but not cloying; it’s a sugary sweetness with a creamy note from the sandalwood, and the violet adds the finishing touch. I love it immensely. If the body mist smells the same, it’s already top tier for Sol de Janeiro, alongside the 40. It’s easily wearable and seems ideal. Plus, the bottle colour defines it perfectly. EDIT: I now have the body mist and it is definitely my favourite Sol de Janeiro scent. Since buying it, I haven’t stopped using it and have already ordered a refill. It’s a treat and has good longevity, although not much sillage (which is logical for a body mist). Sweet without being overwhelming, perfect for everyday life.
Cheirosa 59 smells exactly like the Delicia Drench cream, so I judge it by that. It’s sweet but not cloying, with a creamy touch from the sandalwood and the violet that provides the finish. I love it. If the mist smells like the cream, it’s top tier for Sol de Janeiro, alongside the 40. Easy to like, ideal for daily wear. The bottle defines it all. EDIT: I now own the mist and it’s my favourite from the brand. I can’t stop using it and have already ordered more. It’s a delight, lasts well, and although it doesn’t have much sillage, that’s logical for a mist. Sweet without being overwhelming, perfect for day-to-day.
A real treat! It practically turns you into cotton candy. It’s not quite as gourmand as the 71 or the 62, but as the name suggests, it’s a delight. Sweet yet cosy.
With all the hype on social media, I had to try it. Yes, it smells of talc and powder (I suppose due to the violets), like makeup. Exactly, it’s sweet but not gourmand like the 62 or 71. I like it; it lasts about 6-7 hours with a limited sillage, but that doesn’t bother me. At first, it smells of alcohol for a few seconds, then the beautiful violet scent emerges, reminding me of lipsticks or eyeshadow palettes. It’s a day wear fragrance, not overpowering and easy to wear. I found it at Sephora Spain, but Notino also stocks it. I’d give it an 8/10. It sits among my favourites alongside the 62.
At first, it smells strongly of alcohol, which is normal for body mists. Then the subtle, sugary violets come through, and what impresses me most is how it evolves, with the orchid taking the lead. It’s a clean, elegant scent and surprisingly intense for a body mist. I haven’t tested the longevity enough yet, but it’s not too soft.
I feel it’s the same as the 71 but softer and with more florals.
At first it smells feminine, but as it dries down it becomes unisex, sweet, creamy, and with a touch of talc (not old-fashioned, quite youthful). I tested it at 10 am and could still smell it at 7:30 pm. It doesn’t project too much, so it’s not annoying or intrusive. I really liked it; the notes are well-blended and it doesn’t smell cheap or common. I’ll definitely buy it when I can.
It smells very similar to the 62, but with an added floral touch.
To be honest, I haven’t liked it at all. It smells like a cloying violet, as if it’s gone off. 😭
To be honest, I didn’t like it at all. It smells too much of violet like an outdated sweet 😭.
It’s identical to VS Midnight Bloom but with better projection. I love it: it’s that sweet perfume I’m passionate about, lactonic and super feminine. It can get strong, almost overwhelming, but thanks to its excellent projection, it’s totally worth it.
Sandalwood and more sandalwood. It smells exactly like the perfume I hate the most: the damn This is Her by Zadig & Voltaire. It gives me headaches and nausea. My nose doesn’t perceive it as a scent, but as a threat I must flee from.
Just sandalwood and more sandalwood. It smells exactly like the perfume I hate the most: the damn This Is Her by Zadig & Voltaire. It doesn’t just give me a headache, but nausea. My nose doesn’t perceive it as a scent, but as a threat I must flee from.
I bought it blindly and although I like the scent, I was disappointed by the performance. It’s very soft and stays close to the skin. It’s vanilla with a touch of violet and a creamy base from the sandalwood, which I don’t feel strongly (nor similar to This Is Her). It does remind me of Skin by Clean Reserve, perhaps only me, but on my skin they smell identical. It lasts two hours and projects nothing. It’s a disappointment compared to Cheirosa ’62. As it’s only available from resellers in Argentina, the price isn’t worth it, but I would wear it every day to sleep because its sweet, slightly talc-like scent is a joy.
Of the Brazilian Crushes I’ve tried, this is the strongest. It’s sweet but deep; at first it resembles the Ilia Secreto or Zara’s Gardenia a little, but very little. As it dries down, it disappears, leaving a sweet, pleasant vanilla violet. For me, it’s elegant, suitable for evening wear. Despite being a mist, it smells like an expensive perfume, very cosy and delicious.

I only detect the vanilla and woody notes; I was disappointed as it doesn’t smell of violet and lasts very little. Furthermore, it gives off a nine or ten-year-old girl vibe. I was very disappointed; I thought it was worth it for the TikTok hype.
The scent of this ’59 takes me to eating orchids and violets breaded in crunchy sugar, making *crunch-crunch*. It’s floral and gourmand in equal measure, like FlowerBomb without the patchouli, with sandalwood. It’s not bad for a mist, lasts a decent amount of time, and is versatile.
The ’59 takes me back to biting orchids and violets bathed in crunchy sugar, *crack-crack*. It’s 50% floral and 50% gourmand, similar to FlowerBomb but without the patchouli, featuring sandalwood instead. For a mist, it’s not bad at all; it lasts quite a while and is super versatile.
Smells nice, but it reminds me of Johnson’s baby wipes from when I was a child.
Smells delicious, violets and burnt sugar… Out of all the Sol de Janeiro scents, this was one of the ones I liked most and it has the best longevity.
Delicious, violets and burnt sugar… Of all the Sol de Janeiro scents, this was one of my favourites with the best longevity.
Smells great, doesn’t make me dizzy, and while the longevity could be better, it’s a safe bet when you don’t know what to wear. It puts me in a good mood and mixes well with almost everything. I swear it smells of unlisted coffee, then it’s sweet, floral, and a bit ‘purple’ (though it doesn’t smell of violet to me).
I can’t detect any violet at all; it smells to me of pure sugar. For me, it’s not a pleasant scent. In bursts, it seems like detergent, but anyway, it’s a no.
At first, it reminded me very much of Body Fantasies Twilight Mist from years ago, but this is more potent and cheaper, though hard to find.
I detect absolutely no violeta; it smells like pure sugar and is quite disgusting. At times it resembles detergent, making it a resounding no.
I tested it in a store for several hours on my wrist. The opening seemed pleasant, but once it dried down I didn’t like it at all; I sensed a disinfectant smell. I didn’t smell the violet at any point, definitely I wouldn’t buy it, it’s not for me.
Sol de Janeiro 59 – A hidden gem! 💜🍰 For me, the best of the entire line. I’m obsessed with this soft, delicate, and beautiful scent! Every time I wear it, it transports me to a field of violets while I eat a slice of vanilla cake. It’s a unique aroma, unlike anything I’ve smelled before. Sometimes it also smells like a makeup bag full of cosmetics—that sweet, powdery cosmetic touch—but I love it! I always receive so many compliments. And the best part: for a mist, it lasts a long time. I notice it for 4-5 hours, and if I combine it with the cream, it lasts up to 8 hours without any issues! Sincerely, I think it’s very underrated. It’s a perfect fragrance. 💜✨ NOTE: 10/10

I was eager to try this mist, but it fell slightly short compared to the other options from the brand or other perfumes. The violet note is very, very soft; the sugar note is more present and I detect something of the sandalwood, while the violet is very in the background, almost drowned out by the other notes. Compared to one of my favourite violet perfumes, Insolence by Guerlain, it cannot compete, although that doesn’t stop it from fulfilling its role as a mist in terms of longevity (a few hours depending on the weather) and being a pleasant olfactory dessert quite versatile for any time of year. If I had to rate it, I would give it 7.5/10.
Very pretty but a bit weak. I understand it’s a mist, but it’s pricey for one… I’m not sure if I’d buy it as I find it a little too soft, but it is pretty for a while. 💖
I was gifted this fragrance and on the first spray I could only smell sugar. I found it too sweet, but as with everything, sometimes you have to give it time. With the dry down it improves significantly and the notes of violet and sandalwood become noticeable. It is pleasant and smells good, but give it a few minutes after spraying. It doesn’t last long as it is a mist, but it stays on clothes for quite a while. I recommend using it with the body cream.
It reminds me a lot of Celeste by Giardini Di Toscana.
A very pleasant vanilla mist, very sugary yet airy and soft. It could be worn all year round, but I prefer it for the colder weather. I see it for any everyday occasion. I’ve been pairing it with This Is Her by Zadig & Voltaire these January days and they complement each other very well. It’s nearly finished and when it runs out I’ll move on to something else, but I don’t rule out repeating it at some point in the future with this mist.
For me, this is the most versatile Sol de Janeiro fragrance of all. When I spray it, there’s a shock of sugar, which I genuinely like and don’t find too cloying, although I understand others might find it very sweet. Once it dries down, it becomes floral with a vanilla touch, but the violet dominates and I love it. I wish it lasted longer because it fades quite quickly on my skin; it’s fairly feminine, but a friend uses it and says it’s unisex, and when I smelled it again, I did sense that touch. I use it for any occasion, but mostly in spring and autumn. 💗💗
Am I the only one who finds it insipid? Truly, there is nothing in this fragrance that makes me think it is special or that I would even wear it more than once. All I can smell is brown sugar cubes and a scent I cannot identify. I don’t think it’s a bad fragrance, simply I feel it wouldn’t be my first choice, but undoubtedly it can be used.
I visited Sephora and, honestly, I absolutely loved it. At first, it feels more feminine (on the skin), but once it dries down, it becomes quite unisex. On application, it smells like sugar, which I adore, and shortly after, it’s heavily violet with a touch of sandalwood that is very noticeable on my skin. Longevity: 7/10, Sillage: 6/10, Scent: 9/10.
